Had a great meal at Tandem! My friend and I treated ourselves to a nice dinner here on a Sunday night. I made a reservation for 6:30pm for 2, but I don't think it was needed since the restaurant had little people when we got there. The interior inside is very industrial, with lots of wooden features (like the floor, chairs, tabletops) and string lights hanging from the ceiling. The walls were brick, and it had great big industrial windows which provided great natural lighting. The service was fine, but nothing over the top. I ordered the 72 hour short rib, and my friend got the salmon. It was delicious. It came in a Le Creuset pot with mashed potatoes and assorted veggies on the side. Stunning presentation, and might I say, those pots are expensive, and they have multiple of them. But I guess it was worth the investment because it looked really nice. The beef was super juicy and tender. High quality melt-in-your-mouth beef. And they don't shy away from the portion. It looked like a fat square block. But it was genuinely glistening in the light. The mashed potatoes were just alright for me. They had a strong flavor that I can't pinpoint - maybe too much cheese? They also put mint on the mashed potatoes and beef, which was quite a surprise, but I don't think I prefer it. The veggies were a nice touch with the beef. Overall, great experience and amazing food. I definitely would come back for another nice dinner!

I was visiting friends in Chapel Hill and they took me to their favorite restaurant, Tandem. Every dish was spot on! Great food. Don't miss this place.

This place was AWESOME!!! The food was impeccable, the service incredible, and the place was so conducive to our gathering! We eye so relaxed, non-hurried, etc. The bathrooms were clean, etc. The staff was quite responsive when we reported needing toilet paper in one stall in ladies’ room.Parking: Since Tandem is in a shopping area, it’s adjacent to a grocery store, therefore lots of parking.

We tried their Easter special Moroccon Lamb shoulder. The meat was tender and juicy, and all the sides that came with it complemented it all really well. The chocolate fondant cake for dessert is a must-have and not to be missed. The service was wonderful, and the ambiance was great.

Revisited in March 2024 and still overpriced. One piece of French Toast is $18 now. I passed and had eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. $18. And I had cream for coffee spilled onto our table, staining my pants. Waitress offered nothing to rectify. Never again.

Consistently good food. FWIW we find dinner superior and a better value vs their brunches.

Wonderful atmosphere, high-quality food, and a great menu, and the service is always top-notch. Whether it is a lovely dinner for a special occasion or a Sunday brunch, Tandem is a neighborhood gem that will not disappoint!

Food was incredibly salty and had a weird funk, let it sit underneath the heat lamp for 30 minutes so it was lukewarm, service was incredibly slow even when we were the only ones there, the atmosphere was good besides the guy who passed out from alcohol poisoning then the ambulances and police.

We went on Friday night w reservation but I think it wasn’t necessary bc it wasn’t crowded. The service was really nice and quick. We ordered The cheese board: I liked it but I hoped more, The beef ribs: great and good size, The roasted Salmon: was DELICIOUS!! Guy Allison glass and Fullsteam beer. Sadly we didn’t order dessert bc the size of the plates were huge! I really recommend it!

Lol, $12 for a bottle of sparkling water at brunch. I’m not cheap, but I’m also not a fool. I will not be back.

Think twice before you support Tandem Restaurant in Carrboro. My son and future daughter in law contacted and met with Tandem Owner Emma Dunbar at her Restaurant requesting to have a cocktail party on their patio the night before their wedding. We were reassured that the date and time were available and that it would be held for us. While we did not have a signed contract they pulled out on the booking 3 days latter for a party that would "pay more money". So disappointed that Emma's verbal contract and ethics are worthless, but most of all disappointed for two young people celebrating their future together and dealing with this unfair disappointment.

We have been here several times. The owner is passionate about serving great dishes, and has worked hard to protect her customers from inflated prices. The servers usually go above and beyond to please you. We recently brought our 5 year-old granddaughter to Tandem, and the staff went out of their way to give her a great experience on a very busy day. We properly tipped, of course, but we received great value overall.
