DON’T LIVE HERE (they do giveaways in return for 5 star google reviews)
Update on living here: so if you look at my previous review, the cabinets were sloppily painted (also attached photos here). I asked if I could wrap them and I was told yes by Krissy, no questions asked. Now that I’m leaving they’re wanting to keep my security deposit to replace the cabinets that have paint taken off from the wrap. Yes, they want to replace the entire cabinet for chipped paint which I warned would be the case when removing. I was told that once there’s “no damage to the cabinet itself” it’s fine. Apparently chipped paint coming off an already sloppy paint job is damage to the cabinet. In fact, I did them a favor by taking off the paint since they have to do that anyway to repaint it! I also asked if I were to bring it back to how it was when I moved in (sloppy paint job) if they would still charge me. The answer was yes they will because I can’t leave a sloppy paint job (that was already there when I moved in) for them to fix.
I’ve also been told that they will find reasons to keep your security deposit and that’s exactly what I’m experiencing. Again, they see residents as money grabs and not human beings. The apartment is also not well insulated. I have my heat on for less than 10 days in one month and my electricity was $75. If you’re thinking about moving into 4104 don’t!! Trust me!!! In fact don’t move here at all. I couldn’t sleep for months because of the people above me (you have no idea how that affected my mental health and productivity at work) they think they’re doing me a favor by releasing me. I have recordings of the people above me screaming and yelling. I had to call the cops multiple times. Happy to share any recordings. I also have cameras in my apt that pick up all that noise.

The reviews for here are very misleading. I would give 0 stars if I could. First day of move in the floor was dusty, painting was horrendous, drains were clogging, dusty ceiling fans, dusty blinds. It was clear that they didn’t clean the apartment after the previous tenant moved out. The faucets were corroded and one of the maintenance guys said well it’s not leaking so he’s not going to change it. Eventually it was changed after I raised the concern of moisture getting into and under the cabinets and attracting bugs. Then the next thing was roaches. Roaches in my dishwasher, bathroom counter, kitchen, balcony. Pest control was sent and traps were provided but I still do deal with bugs and I don’t think that’s going away. Now, it’s noisy neighbors. I hesitated mentioning it to the office team at first I thought what can they really do? And after speaking with them they assured me that they will speak to them as they want to ensure I am comfortable in my space. They even mentioned placing violations on their account for the noise. That was all talk to action.
These neighbors walk all day everyday super heavy. It’s not footsteps but stomping. Hard stomping. And also loud creaking from the floors. Random bursts of shouting or yelling. Constantly making startling noises through the day and waking me out of my sleep at 3am-4am. I can never relax because I’m involuntarily anticipating the next startling sound. The property manager, Krissy, now says that she considers these noises as daily movements. Apparently running, stomping, and screaming are considered to be normal daily movements to her that I should just deal with. Furthermore, she put her ear on the door and didn’t hear anything so apparently that trumps everything I’ve experienced. There was one specific day that there was a young kid there and he/she was running up and down and screaming which I could hear through the ceiling. Sent a recording to Krissy and she claimed she couldn’t hear the screaming.
Their suggestion is for me to move to a third floor apartment and pay higher rent. Absolutely ridiculous since I just moved in a couple months ago. I have to go through the trouble of moving again and they get more money? No way! Happy to move but I’ll need my rent to stay the same and they will need to hire movers. They also refused to release me from my lease (not surprising).
Anyway, the apartment is very old. It doesn’t look that way but it is. Don’t move here if you don’t like bugs (or are allergic to some bugs like me) and want your mental health to be a priority. They care about the money and not residents’ experiences unfortunately. The only good thing is the unique floor plans and kind neighbors. I can’t wait to leave. If any lawyers would like to take this further, happy to have that conversation.
Message to the owners/people above Krissy: It doesn’t have to always be about money. We are all human and hoping to get the best experience out of the life we have. I am not mentally okay living here and cannot afford to pay two months rent to leave. It would be nice if you would consider residents as humans. Would you like your mother/daughter/sister to be the living the way I am? Or rather would you like to be living the way I am?
Forgot to mention my kitchen pipes somehow came loose and the cabinet flooded. Like how is that possible. I was just doing dishes. I agree with the review that says the only good thing here is maintenance (the manager and assistant manager only).

I visited there today and Gennie was on point! I did not have an appointment for a tour or anything but she was awesome! She took me on the tour, gave me lots of info. about the apartments as well as the city. I really appreciated her attention to my needs. Overall, I really liked the apartments, but I didn't like the cleanliness of the hallways and the fact that all along the bottom of the walls in the hallways, the cream walls have been painted with blue paint A LOT. It seems like a quiet place to live.

0 Stars if I could. It started with cockroaches. Took a few months to get rid of those. Now it's time to move out and there was a discrepancy between the "welcome letter" I signed and the actual lease. I was under the impression that I was signing a 12 month lease but I am now being told it is a 13 month lease. Be careful when signing as they will throw different documents at you and change them to get their extra rent and fees. This place is shady. Go elsewhere or be very careful

Awesome community, very good staff and maintenance team. Any request raised solved quickly. Very good school near by. Near Netapp and Credit Suisse. Would always recommend this community as all points staff, location and school

The management is shady. You will have cockroaches. They will take months to get rid of them completely. They will send you multiple welcome letters and contracts and change lease lengths and prices between them to squeeze extra rent and fees out of you. Shady. Rent elsewhere.

They have a contract with towing company. As soon as your plates expire they will tow you. Everything in apartment is old and constantly needs maintenance. Plenty of other places don’t make the mistake I did!

We were initially really excited about finding this property however unfortunately, our experience with this property was Sub-par. in hindsight I am glad we did not move forward with this property as we ended finding something better. The lack of service was a turn off. They denied my mothers application due to "insufficient income" which was incorrect (which by the way we were approved for a higher valued property). No one returned our phone call. I spoke with 3 people. Jason seemed to be the most helpful. When we signed in to update the income the application had been denied. No one called to follow up. The attendants were not on the same page and did not seem to have any information. we paid a non-refundable application fee to which our application had not fully been processed. As new residents of NC we were not impressed with the service here. We hope you have better luck.

After leaving the complex, I was promised my deposit back. It's been more than 3 months and I still haven't received it. Add poor customer service onto problems this complex has. Chancery Village could use management restructuring.

My Leasing agent was Lisa. She's a very nice person. She asked me what my needs were and even showed me a unit that was in the process of being renovated. Most apartments wouldn't do that. " Oh The Horror" ? That's what sold me. No apartment I've ever visited has ever shown me a renovation in progress. The property grounds are well maintained. Talked to a few residents and the consensus was don't leave your car unlocked, maintenance is on top of everything and so is the leasing office. They are family friendly and pet friendly. As to the apartment itself time will tell how thin the walls are. The rent is less than what you would pay for with similar amenities. Will update in a few months. To be continued........

I have lived in apartment complexes the past 30+ years and Chancery Village has been one of the best experiences I have ever had (I have been here the past 2.5 years) ... very responsive very helpful management/maintenance team ... very well maintained apartments/landscaping .. a joy to live here ... traffic from NC-55 can get a bit loud in the mornings (I guess one can't expect everything to be 100% perfect, in any apartment) ..

Chancery Village is a great place to live! Excellent staff, quick response to maintenance requests, and a lovely community of people to live with!
