Employees need training. Cashier was friendly, but inexperienced. We ordered 7 subs, during the sub sale, subs rang up at full price, because the deli team used the wrong bag AGAIN. So I'm standing there explaining to the cashier that the price is wrong, she pulls over another cashier who argues with me about the sub being on sale. I had to pull out my phone and show her the ad for the sub sale. So she overrides the regular price and keyed in the sale price, but it was still deducting sub points. Basically, we didn't get sub points for these new subs. I told them to go to the deli section to get the correct bag to scan and that would've solved it, but 4 cashiers stood around and did nothing.

Where I live, I will say that I have pretty much every grocery store (except Wegmans) at my disposal. I have to say that my local Harris Teeter over near Flowers Plantation in Clayton is pretty much where I shop 99% of the time. In nearly every aisle, they seem to have a national brand; their own brand, and then something from a local source or small batch source. I have come across so many products that I can only find at HT. They have a huge salad bar, Asian hot bar, Pizza bar and fresh made sushi all separate from the aisle goods. The store is well laid out and things are sorted out where they should be. Have you ever said to yourself when you can't find something "Why isn't it where it should be" or " why the heck is it over there"? Well HT takes that all away. The self check out is always kept moving by the attendant and in the rare times I have to go through the line, the folks are always polite and I even recognize some because they live nearby. My local HT is a great place to shop and I feel it stands out from the others that are nearby!

This really sucks giving 2 stars . I wanted to give them 5 overall stars til I was at the customer service counter. I didn’t get her name but she is an old black lady with Thick bifocals that doesn’t know how to speak or acknowledge the customer. I had a couple winning scratch off tickets I needed to redeem , and instead of asking me she walks past me saying “what’s he want?” Not once have I ever met her . I found that to be very rude, she needs to take a class in Customer service. Other than that everything about the store is perfect from their fresh produce to their selection of warm ready to eat food.

Apparently HT now has apple pay and gpay... the last holdout complaint I harbored.Enjoy the meat/seafood (though i do wish meat cutters worked in evenings when I suspect most meat cut idealists shop). It seems shady they advertise "2 for the price of 1" or "buy 3 get 2 free" when you don't have to buy in those multiples from what I've experienced to get those discounts.Be sure to get rain checks when others beat you to the best deals. They honor for a while and the best deals are WAY better than most coupons.

They never have enough cashiers in senior citizen discount day. They're trying to force us all to self checkout I guess. It is more expensive than Publix or Food Lion. The store IS clean, but the selection of meats cannot compare with Publix. And they will not do anything with your meat, except cut it. I asked for some pork chops to be tenderized -- crickets. With Publix -- no problem.

I was very hungry and decided to go to a nearby Harris teeter to get some food. I bought my food and was headed to the checkout when I'm aisle 1 I saw a short young well dressed man. He kindly greeted me and said he would help me today. I gave him my selections and he told me his name was Joey. I said well hello Joey and asked his age. It turns out he is a junior in high school! I was so grateful for his help as I struggle with cashiers now a days. They are always so quiet and not helpful. Not Joey Bishop he was helping me through every step of the process. My Harris teeter experience was boosted by the kindness in his attitude. For being so young this Joey bishop kid has real potential and if I was a higher up at harris teeter I would try my best to keep him. (Thanks Joey and harris teeter)

I was in the area & needed to stop here for a few items. I love HT! There's isn't one close to where I currently live. There was ample parking and the lot was clean. The store was clean and tidy when I walked in. The produce section was fully stocked. Everything looked perfect. I picked up my items & made my way to the cash register. There was a cashier standing at the entrance waiting for a customer. I went to her register. She wasn't friendly AT ALL! I really started to wish I went to self-checkout. She ruined my entire experience. I paid and made my way out to my car. It was so weird that everyone I passed by was super friendly. She was the only negative part of my shopping experience. I will still come back. I will just avoid her cash register if she's there.
