It had been a while since I needed glasses for computer screen viewing. I treated myself to lightweight comfort for my travels ahead. I purchased both night and day driving glasses along with my computer screen viewing glasses. The service provided to me was excellent. From the exam to the product fitting, I was treated with respect and patience. Well done!

The second visit won’t be as friendly or pleasant as the first visit. According to most reviews, this place is awful and the staff is incompetent; even the “Doctor.”Whenever someone asks me about MyEyeDr, I honestly tell them to not waste their time and to find a professional optometrist.

I had a decent experience overall, the lady at the reception was very sweet and the staff was friendly. It was my first ever eye exam. I have zero vision problems.I knocked 3 stars out due to three reasons.First, one part of my eye exam couldn’t be done at this location so they are sending me to one of their other locations to complete the exam. NOT convenient at all. If you have a copay, then that’s two copays for something that could be done in one sitting at a different location.Second, my vision is 20/20, close to perfect, if not perfect, and it was apparent to them in the first 10 minutes of my visit. Why did they have to put me in a room to try on different lenses is a mystery. I actually had no idea those were lenses and she kept asking me which one was better, one or the other, and I was getting frustrated because they all were the same to me. A person with perfect vision isn’t going to see any difference, and I don’t understand why I even had to sit through that. I kept saying they are the same, I see the letters perfectly and they are not blurry. I started picking one over the other towards the end because I just wanted to be done with it and didn’t understand what exactly they wanted from me. My husband later explained to me that it was just lenses because they wanted to sell me glasses. Glasses? Yes, they said I could get driver’s glasses if I wanted to see things a bit “sharper”. But I do see everything clear and sharp, without a problem. There’s nothing to correct with glasses or lenses so I just wasted a huge chunk of my time because they were trying to persuade me that I needed glasses for a better night vision. Just NO. If your customer has perfect vision, don’t sit them down to try on lenses. Just say they have great vision and there’s nothing to improve. Why would anyone be wearing/buying glasses with perfect vision? Don’t try to persuade people their vision is faulty when it’s not just because you need to sell glasses.Third, they dilated my pupils to check the eyes. Nobody had told me ahead of time that it would prevent me from reading/seeing for over an hour, and I had to work on my computer that afternoon. I couldn’t see anything for an hour after my appointment and couldn’t work at all because everything was blurry. I also think it’s a hazard to drive after dilation. You are seeing blurry objects and it’s not exactly too safe to drive.

I made it to my appointment for a contact lens/eye exam. I had to wait about 20 mins to be seen, but that wasn't really a big deal to me. I was escorted to the back with the tech to take pictures and measurements of my eyes, I went to put my forehead on the auto-refractor machine and noticed the machine was covered with lip stick where ones mouth is supposed to be in front of. This was after I had asked if the machine had been cleaned! She lied and said it had been. I was disgusted. Conjunctivitis and other infections/viruses are highly contagious and just one reason why it is so important to keep those type of machines clean! She went a head and sanitized the machine and we were able to proceeded, however if it wasn't for the fact that I needed an exam I would have left right then and there. I went on with my exam with the Dr..she was very sweet and took my concerns with the unsanitary conditions seriously. Aside from that she got me in a pair of contacts and I was on my way.The front staff will try to up charge you as it is there job so make sure you are well aware of what you insurance covers. Also ask about all options available to you before you purchase. In conclusion I will not be visiting this location again. There cleanliness is not up to par, and it simply isn't worth risking possibly getting an infection.

I had booked an appointment online and then I followed up before the appointment to clarify my insurance. The receptionist who answered was impatient from the beginning and not helpful. She looked up my son and said that they don't take Medicaid anymore. I told her that I don't have Medicaid and that was under his dad and I have new insurance for him. She kept insisting that my son was not on my insurance, and this being my first time getting him seen at this Myeyedr location (he usually went in Durham), I wanted to be sure. I told her it was fine to check that he was included in my insurance that I've been using with no problem (for my children also) all year. She puts me on hold for 10 plus minutes and comes back to tell me that my insurance is not active. I was confused, so I told her I would check with my provider to be sure because that is the first time I've been told this. I called my provider and they confirmed that I do have insurance. The receptionist wasted a good part of my morning because she didn't want to take time on the phone with me and clearly made up the issue about me not having insurance because she didn't want to take up more time with me on the phone. This was my first bad experience with Myeyedr, but I want it to be known because I feel like I was mistreated unnecessarily and I did not get rude with her at all and only asked questions. This person is obviously not able to carry out a customer service role in a helpful way and if others have similar experiences, then this should be investigated.

Worst customer service experience ever. They only try to sell stuff to you don’t care about which product is good for you. Greedy and rude don’t recommend this place to anyone.

I had the worst experience at this location. My family and I have been coming here for twelve years and have always had amazing customer service from the previous team. Ever since they changed the team, the customer service has been sub par to say the least. The provider and nurses are great with patients. I cannot say the same for the staff up at the front desk. My last visit, I left fuming. There has always been a problem with the reminders for our appointments. My appointment’s time and my children’s usually get mixed up, sending the wrong name for the wrong time. This is needed context. I walked into the clinic and told the front desk I had an appointment. She checked me in. After a short wait, a nurse led me back and started my examination. A few minutes later and to my utter shock, the same front desk receptionist who checked me in then barged in, my head was in the machine, and told me I had to leave the examination room because I did not show up to my appointment on time. This shocked me as well as the nurse. She stopped her examination as the receptionist continued to tell me I had to leave mid examination because I was late. I tried to explain that it must have been a misunderstanding but it fell on deaf ears. She led me out and told me to sit down in the waiting room with no further explanation. I have never experienced such embarrassment and disrespect. To let a patient into an examination room and then kick them out for an administrative mistake is unbelievable. I would have been understanding if I was told I was late and not let in at all, but to let me in and then tell me to leave mid examination is not professional at all. The doctor did speak to me and try to apologize. Somebody lacking basic customer service and professionalism should never be part of the team. The new receptionist and people in charge of appointments are horribly unprofessional and rude, and there has been a distinct difference between the doctor’s old staff and the new ones. I will be looking into taking further action as this is not the first time I have been spoken/ interacted with rudely. Over the years, I referred many of my friends and clients to this office; however, now I will share my horrible experience with them. My family is taking our business to another practice where staff hired are more competent and professional. I know that everybody is struggling to find qualified employees nowadays but at least hire people with decent people skills.

I called and scheduled an appointment for my children. My children have been going to this office for over a decade. The office has all their information as well as their insurances. I was given the slots with no problem. The day before the appointments, I called to confirm to be surprised that this practice does not accept my children's insurance anymore, and I will have to pay private if I want to keep the appointments. I asked them since when they opted out, the receptionist stated it was over a month ago. So, I asked to why I was given the appointments and not been informed back then. She just mumbled an apology. I had to request time off from work for those appointments. Now, my children are due for their examination and this office just wasted my time. I would have found a new practice if was informed properly and in time. Thanks God we did not have an emergency procedure for those appointments. I cannot imagine having to find a new doctor the day prior to the emergency. It is a practice's right to opt out of any insurance. However, it is also the patient's right to be informed and notified. That is called professionalism and common courtesy to your patients and especially if they have been loyal to you all those years. The support staff changed drastically from before and you could see the huge difference between them. The first crew was great and customer service oriented. Our visits were always very pleasant. During and after COVID, customer service went from minimum to none. This practice will go out of business if they don't change their hiring criteria. They should recruit more qualified candidates who care more about their patients.

My first experience with MyEyeDr. in Crescent Commons is 5 Stars!I brought them an old pair of men's Costa sunglasses with a broken lens. In under 15 minutes, Carrie completed the repair and gave me helpful information about the benefits and care of the new polycarbonate lenses. She provided capable, conscientious, and positive customer service.

So I am editing my previous review. I had an issue with the service on my first visit but will say truthfully and honestly that this office rectified my situation amazingly.Brian, the manager was extremely professional in his response to my issues. They re-did my glasses and didn't even charge me for the correction.I do highly recommend this location as they showed me that if an issue occurs, they will fix it expeditiously.
