Clean, easy to find things, it's your normal small Publix. I like the brand

Very convenient local neighborhood market, great services and products. Prices are a bit higher than other stores like Harris Teeter, Aldi, Lidl or Lowes food.

Having lived in S Florida for 20 years, I am normally a big fan of Publix. The bakery has always been amazing, though now I’m gluten free.
Today, however, I was very disappointed. I picked up 4 loose zucchini squash and 4 loose yellow squash. Both in produce bags, they looked similar in size. I weighed one of the bags in the produce section and it weighed just over a pound. $1.89/pound, it would be a good deal compared to the prepackaged squashes that were $3.50/each. After collecting other items, I went to self-checkout and was trying to figure out how to use my medicare U Card at checkout, not paying attention to the charges. I know I have $35 available on the card, and I would have thought that at least the zucchini or cheese would have qualified for the card, but nothing seemed to qualify. I was sent to Customer Service where they rung up all of my items again, still not qualifying for the U Card. So I paid and went home. Upon arriving home, I looked at the receipt. The squashes rang up at 2.69 and 2.79 pounds each, therefore costing about $5 for each bag. We use a digital food scale and putting one bag of squash on the scale, it weighed 1.03 pounds, just like the scale in the produce department had said! Yet, both the self-checkout and the Customer Service scales measured them at nearly 3 times that and charged me accordingly. Living 30 minutes drive away, I wasn’t about to drive back to recheck it, but I called to let them know. After a short voicemail message, there was a little jingle of musical notes, and then they hung up on me.
So.. I’m writing this review.
Should I buy produce at Publix in the future, I will weigh every item and double check it at the register. WalMart takes my U Card every time. No issues. (I had never tried it at Publix before and probably won’t bother again.)

It was nice but not what I expected since I have been in other ones elsewhere. Maybe I was expecting to much, the other ones seemed larger.
