Used this pharmacy for many years. Most of the staff were always very polite. Usually well stocked. Switching to CVS as pharmacy was unable to get a prescription filled in a timely fashion. I felt the pharmacist took a patronizing tone when I expressed, what felt to me, a reasonable amount of frustration over the issue.

The pharmacy since being made over with new employees, I have had 3 wrong filled prescriptions,on one prescription they wouldn't correct because of insurance reasons when they are the one's who made the mistake. Moral is horrible and a lot of attitude in the air.

Flu test is a scam. Website promises results in 20-30 min and the opportunity for a consultation to get a prescription on site. Results weren't emailed for 24 h -- too late for Tamiflu, etc... to be useful, which was the point -- and no consultation/prescription/etc... offered. Only want to get a prescription is go elsewhere, and they want to do their own test anyhow.

Experience with pharmacy complete disaster! They are awful about answering phone calls. I spent multiple days attempting to speak with someone but would just get hung up every time. Do not send your prescriptions here. Staff is unhelpful with issues!

I called today to ask if they had a specific GI product my daughter needed after a hospital stay. They confirmed the name of the product three times with me, and said yes, it was in stock. I got there and looked everywhere, asked for help looking from a pharmacy tech, no luck. It’s not there. The pharmacy tech looked it up on a phone and said that it was actually in stock at Walmart and I could drive over there to pick it up. I drove to Walmart. It’s not there either. She must’ve seen it’s available to order off of the website. I should’ve double checked her, I guess, but wow. Twice they had me driving around for this specific and important medical product for my kid and twice they were totally wrong. Wasted my evening and we still don’t have what we need for my kid.

I have had issues with this pharmacy on and off over the years, but today was by far the worst! My prescriptions somehow were changed to mail order, and by the time I noticed, I was too close to running out to wait for delivery. Had to call Walgreens mail order (their chat wasn’t working), on hold for 30 minutes, they pulled order and transferred me to the (wrong location!) local Walgreens. On hold again, explained situation and they said I had no refills left, which of course made no sense since they had been in process previously with mail order. Then they said I needed a new prescription from my doctor because it can’t be transferred from mail order to local by me or vice versa. What!? I had it filled locally last month - how did they end up as mail order? The whole conversation became so ridiculous and I thought I was going to lose my mind!! They then wanted ME to call my doctor and get a brand new prescription because they couldn’t figure out how to fill it - sure, at 4pm on a Friday…. Then they HUNG UP!! I called back, on hold, then passed around and eventually they ended up calling my doctor while I was on hold. They said they’d fill my prescriptions by the end of the day, but so far I have not received an automated message, and the mail order mess-up is still in the app, which makes no sense. I might just have to drive there and waste time waiting until I have my prescriptions in hand.

Would give zero stars if I could! The pharmacist is so rude. Last night 09/6 I had surgery, the perception was sent over to this pharmacy! It was just EYE ointment from a MAJOR EYE SURGERY I Had! The pharmacist refused to run it under my insurance the man claimed that the DOCTOR who filled my medication was not on my insurance??? Then said my insurance didn’t cover the medication Although it covered it last year? Spoke to my insurance they do take it the pharmacist had the medication there ready and filled he refused to honor it at my set co pay amount. I’ve been calling the pharmacy since this morning last night when that happened he showed absolutely no compassion and did not fill my medication as soon as it was sent the second time, the wait times on the phone are so bad good luck getting anybody at 12 as they take a lunch around 1. They answer the phone and put you right back onto the holding line it’s such a shame what this Walgreens in chapel hill is doing! So disgusting

This pharmacy has significantly improved compared to years prior. I had to switch pharmacies due to my insurance coverage, and this is definitely one of the neatest/cleanest Walgreens I have been to! Many of the pharmacy employees go above and beyond every time I come through, and I especially can’t thank Eric enough for his knowledge and willingness to help! In my opinion, a majority of the reviews here are outdated and people with a misunderstanding of what a pharmacy actually does… thank you Walgreens on MLK for all that you do!!

There is a gentleman who works in the pharmacy with bright red hair. He is one of the most unpleasant people I've ever had to deal with quite possibly in my life.He always appears like he just doesn't care to be bothered, with anything. My last interaction with him, he spoke to me like I was mentally ill.I have been going here for years and I pray when I need to refill my prescription, he isn't working because he does it with such contempt.

I have a painful throat infection and was prescribed a mouthwash to use by my doctor at 9:45 am this morning. This Walgreens accepted the prescription at 9:46 am from my doctor. After calling two times, being placed on hold for 8 minutes, and getting hung up on for no reason, I never got through to the Walgreens, nor did I receive any indication that they were filling my prescription. When I showed up in person this afternoon at 4 pm to ask about this, they then told me they can’t compound this mouthwash. Now, after waiting hours and suffering through this pain, I am forced to find another pharmacy at typical closing hours. And my infection is not being treated promptly. I could have been told this hours ago by the Walgreens, but was clearly not. How can you have 6 technicians and a pharmacist on staff but can’t return a simple call and let me know I need to call another pharmacy? I will never go to a Walgreens again. Don’t go here if you want to receive your medications in a timely manner, or frankly, at all.

Pharmacy closes way too early. Usually some kind of annoying issue at each visit. Only reason I still go is because of the drive thru. I DON’T THINK ANYONE IS READING THESE REVIEWS BECAUSE NOTHING IS CHANGING!

Why did I have to show my ID for a $20 credit card return when I had the receipt? I remember now why I rarely go to Walgreen's and in the future it will be never.

Using this pharmacy is a poor use of time. Often delayed, out of stock, long lines, etc. I never get in and out of here cleanly/without hiccup. Unsure of the problem, as the people there aren't likely to blame...but it's the most frustrating experience every time, hence why I only use this as a last resort. Don't use this pharmacy for imminent or time sensitive medication needs.

Impossible to get in touch with via phone. Long lines in person. Don’t expect to get your medication questions answered. I am very frustrated with the set up that they have. Harris Teeter is much more efficient and actually answers their phone instead of putting you on an endless loop of their hold music.

I have my medication sent to the pharmacy and have made purchase in the store. So I am a customer. Not that it should matter but I am in the process of getting back on my feet, however I am homeless. So I frequent the restroom as it is close and clean. Just tonight, I was accused of stealing a bottle of juice. I asked for proof of their accusations and was told by the manager that he didn't have time to show me. And since I can prove where I got the juice I was drinking at the bus stop across the street with the bag of doughnuts I bought from there one morning, I am going to defend my honor to the point I am satisfied. I am certain any attorney worth their degree will help my sue a large company for what is textbook slander. This post is to enlightening folks of how judgemental some people can be. I won't stand for it. I was raised to treat EVERYONE with respect, be honest and kind to all. I will be successful in getting back on my feet. I will not, ever allow my character or principles to be attacked without a fight. Actions speak a whole lot louder than words.
