My elderly father asked me if I could take his watch to a jeweler to have the battery replaced. Less and less people even wear watches anymore so I wasn't sure where to take it. Looked on Google maps and saw Wentworth & Sloan Jewelers and decided to give them a try. Located in a mini mall across from Harris Teeter (enter by Alfredo's Pizza due to major site and road construction), I was immediately and kindly greeted by the owner and told him my mission. His place has a real jeweler on staff and before I knew it, the delicate task was already done. Looking around and talking with the owner and others working there, a vibe of honest, friendly, and competent expertise was obvious. Dad was pleased to have his watch back (for under $20) and I was pleased to deal with a hassle-free, high-quality establishment that prides itself on exceptional service. At too many places, attention to minor things (like watch maintenance) is nearly extinct but not at Wentworth & Sloan. I plan to return soon (with my wife).

Incredible shop and even better people. The knowledge and kindness is next level. The only shop I will bring my Rolex to in the entire state of NC.

Came in to get my watch repaired, everyone in the store was really friendly and it was well priced and fast. Really gorgeous collection of estate jewelry in the store. I'll be coming back!

Rude, just rudeWent in to sell some old silver as they supposedly buy it. Lovely lady addressed me and then asked me to wait. She took my items to white haired man and he looked at it for a second then handed it back to her. He was about 15-20 feet from me and never looked at me or said hello. She came back and said he's not interested. Took it around the corner to recycle jewelry and boom, transaction done with courtesy and a smile. Go figure. Perhaps he needs to retire as his customer service skills are burned out.

As a 25-year-old guy I had little to no experience in jewelry when I walked into Wentworth & Sloan. Nonetheless, Ken and his staff were more than accommodating and were able to smoothly guide me through the process of purchasing an engagement ring. Ken was able to help my soon-to-be fiancé and I find a setting that we both loved and was able to locate a stone within our budget. I could not have hoped for a better start to our engagement and will be a life long customer of Wentworth & Sloan. When you walk into their store you can be sure that you're dealing with top notch individuals who are highly experienced in their field and, because of this, I highly recommend their service.

5/5 stars for service, price and overall. Super kind people, they didn’t try to get me to do the most expensive thing, but they listened to what I wanted. Had an old family ring fixed up (over 100 years old) and they made it look brand new. They filled out the missing Diamond, cleaned it, made sure the main stone stayed secure. ALSO! I asked if they could do the engravings that had faded out, and the gentleman who fixed it did the most beautiful patterns by hand. What a maestro. The photos won’t do it justice, but my fiancé is over the moon. Visited 5 jewelers in the triangle, this is by far the best in every aspect. First ever google review, but they deserve to be your future jeweler!!! First image is old, others are now!

I love this jewelry store. Beautiful pieces to rival Many other jewelers in the area. Great service; watch repair too. A "gem" in Chapel Hill!

Fantastic owner/manager and staff!!I first bought jewelry from Wentworth & Sloan while I was in grad school at UNC in the late '70's. I believe the current owner managed the store for Mr. Sloan at that time.Even though we have lived out of state ever since, we come back to Wentworth & Sloan when we want to purchase jewelry or have a watch or piece of jewelry repaired.Hard to find a jewelry store like this one anywhere else!Owner is EXCEPTIONALLY personable!!

This is the rudest store I’ve ever been in. There’s a better jewelry store in the same mall for both jewelry and repairs that treats customers properly. It was so bad, my family will be avoiding this mall until they do something about Wentworth and Sloan, which is a public nuisance. It’s unfortunate as we had been spending many thousands of dollars a year at this mall.

Wentworth & Sloan has an unparalleled collection of jewelry available in a huge range of styles. They have repaired several rings of mine and I couldn't be happier with their service. I would recommend them to anyone who is shopping for jewelry or who needs jewelry repaired.

I was gifted some jewelry I didn't want and took it yesterday to Wentworth & Sloan to see what they might offer for it. Maybe it's because I was wearing my old flannel and jeans with no makeup, but the lady more or less flared her nostrils at me. She left me standing there, took the bag into the back, then came out later holding one earring as though it smelled, and said, "We will not be purchasing this today." She then gave me an offer for the rest. I told her I'd like to get a second opinion and she said, "That offer doesn't hold. We might offer less if you come back another day." Well, fine then!I took it to Olmaz in Eastgate next, and despite my ragamuffin appearance, the owner (Jack) treated me with complete respect. He sat me down, offered me a drink, and took the time to explain the pieces to me... and then offered me nearly double for the exact same items (including the offending earring, which although small, was still 18k gold with a tiny diamond).SO... all this to say if anyone wants a fair, respectful, and honest offer on their jewelry or gold, please bypass Wentworth and Sloan and go straight to Olmaz's in Eastgate (between Bruegger's Bagels and Trader Joe's) instead. He's the only jeweler I will use from now on.
