Doesn't answer the phone before closing time, then got transferred to an international representative that was not helpful. This is why I don't rent from Avis.

Rented a car which was dirty on pick up and was told 'the inside is clean"! No excuse to get a dirty car. Plus, when I drove to my home, the 'maintenance required' warning came on. Will not rent from here again.

I cannot sing Mel’s praises enough.Had to book a last minute rental , when I got to my original location, I was told they did not have a rental for me. Customer service hung up twice , continuing to “modify” my rental to THE SAME LOCATION even after the local rep told myself and the customer service agent they did not have a car available. Got one of the reps AGAIN and as soon as I gave my name, he transferred me.I had to call around to other Avis’ and that’s when I got in touch with Mel. He was more than understanding and was able to get my into the car I needed. I appreciate him going above and beyond.Once I got to the location, I saw Mel working his magic with another customer who was in the same position as me. He was able to help her as well.The ONLY reason Avis is getting a great review is Mel.If my review were based on my customer service experience I would have given a ZERO out of 10.I highly recommend working with Mel and will continue to use this location as long as he’s there.

Made a reservation for 1pm. Got there at 1:01pm and they locked their doors and refused to wait on us. The employee was very rude.

Not surprised by the other reviews on this location after my experience with them. I got an email at 7pm saying that they were all out of cars and had to cancel my reservation. Melvin Lear's exact words in the email were "we would have to recommend trying another location." He gave me no alternatives and expecting me to search for other rentals myself. I was supposed to pick up my car at 10am the following morning. No courtesy call. Just an email late enough to where I shouldn't have been checking my email. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Booked a rental reservation over a month in advance and the store emailed me at 8pm the night before pick up to say they had no more inventory. Less than 24 hours notification! They then tried to send me on a wild goose chase to another Avis location which I called ahead only to find out they didn't have the size vehicle we needed. NOW to top it off they're not reimbursing us the difference of what we paid to a 2nd rental company despite promising to do so. I have never dealt with this from any other rental company. Avoid if at all possible.

Terrible customer service. Didn't have car in one location, called me 30 minutes before my scheduled time from another location, to say that they don't have car for me neither. So only option I had, to go to airport which is way far from me, and I already had to spend more money for Uber. But despite all this final price raised from 280 to 330. Don't deal with avis

I'm not sure if the gentleman was the owner or if he was the manager however he was training his associates while helping me and he was very well mannered and very attentive. It is surprised me at how polite he was he was able to get me switched out of my car and into a new car after driving 192 miles from a different Budget Rent a Car location. I wish I lived in Charlotte because that would be my go to rental facility

Y’all! I booked for 1 day, left my receipt booklet in the dash board of the car when I checked out…and the manager of the store (mind u I’m a Female) went and add $251 charges to my account. Now I go through budget rentals all the time. I’ve NEVER worked with Avis. He talked me into booking with Avis and I did exactly what was told. My total charge was to be $92 instead they charged me $251 for 1 day. I called the same manager and all he said verbatim “call customer service and see if they’ll refund you” I was DUMBFOUNDED. I even asked for my check out receipt (see below what they sent me) basically a fake blank reciept email. This is Fraudulent. I believe this company is a whole scam. They literally are taking money from customers who trusted them to do a job. I will be contacting the BBB at this time. I would like a refund of $160 that was unauthorized and stolen from me. The manager has NOTHING to say except call customer service. Which will lead you to call another. number bc again. All this is fraud. Be careful and please take pictures of your reciept.

Great customer service, good selection and fair pricing. I was saved by this site from a horrible experience at another. Customer service was speedy and patient with getting my vehicle situated and me out the door.

We called and were told I could be added to the rental agreement as a driver. The company website says spouses can be added at no charge. The rep at this location said he couldn't add me without charging $13/day. ?♀️ no help whatsoever. Will not be renting from Avis again.

This is the worst company I have ever experienced for car rental. I booked a week in advance and they told me there are no cars available. I had a big meeting I had to attend and they did absolutely nothing to amend the situation. I paid 50 dollars to Uber there and booked a week in advance and they told me there are no cars without explanation I would never book with them.

They deleted my Facebook post instead of reaching out to me via email about my complaint. I am livid. We rented a car on February 13th, when we picked the car up we were charged for the rental and a additional hold was placed on our account as expected. The car was due back at 12pm on February 19th. My husband took the car back before 11:20am on the 19th when it was due and the car was checked out by the attendant and CLEARED. The hold on our account was released back into our account on February 18th, the day before it was scheduled to take back. I thought everything was fine until February 22nd when were charged again for the amount of the car rental. We received an email on February 19th at 11:20am of an e-receipt when we returned the car with a link that did NOT work. We called during business hours and after waiting over 20 minutes we spoke with a rep who wanted to rush me off the phone. During this call I asked for another email of the receipt, he told me that he sent it (which I later found out was not true.). He asked us for a copy of our bank statement which we sent. Days later we received an email to reach out to Loss Prevention because they took out the hold. We called and have not been able to reach anyone yet. Please avoid this company if possible. We are still trying to reach someone so that we can recoup our money.
