The staff here is always kind, knowledgeable and reasonable. I didn’t get pressured to buy a plan and fees mostly seemed fair. My main issue is availability— it could be very hard to get an appointment or have any continuity of care, and it seems unacceptable to be closed on evenings and weekends without an after-hours hotline service like other vets have. They are also closed longer than you would expect around holidays, which was challenging trying to refill medications.

I would give 0 star if there's an option. A big mistake signing up the puppy plan with Banfield. Poor and unwelcoming services. From my impression of 3 visits, this is my understanding of Banfield's philosophy:1. They don't actually care about dogs' well being. On our second visit, they gave my puppy 3-4 types of vaccines AT THE SAM TIME without my consent, without telling me the possible causes, without asking me if I would like to do different vaccines on a different day. They just pumped the vaccines to my puppy, and there you go, a 10-day diarrhea, when I called them and asked for solutions, they regurgitate the same thing with a cold tone- just use bland diet will help her. They sound cold and as if nothing happens. They cannot picture how helpless as a puppy owner is when seeing my dog being so uncomfortable for so long. I hated this place already since then.2. They believe that if your dog has enough vaccines and monthly drugs, it will be a healthy dog. They don't recognize or accept the fact that dog owners prefer a different approach to the care of their dogs. Although I’m not a vet, and I totally respect a vet, as a dog owner for over 10 years, I educate myself and make decisions that are for the best of my dogs. When they encounter dog parents don't follow their approach, which is more vaccines and more drugs, they challenge you and all staff to regurgitate the SAME things, such as if you don't give your dog this vaccine, what will happen. At our last visit, When my puppy did her last exam, the vet came out grumpy, "Now let's talk about why you don't give your dog any vaccines." First of all, rabies vaccine is mandatory by law and my dog's rabbie is not even due till April, 2024. Secondly, I have my total right for not having my dog to receive vaccines that she doesn't need. It's the vet the attitude that pissed me off. I didn't even get to discuss some other issues that I might concern about my puppy with her. She is totally emotional and unprofessional.Oh, I haven't even mentioned that they were mad at me for not picking up the phone because they wanted to change my schedule. When I stepped into the clinic on time without knowing they tried to call me, all I received was unwelcoming faces and blame from them for not picking up my phone. Avoid this chain if you want to have a respectful and educational conversation with your vet.

I travel with my pup all over the Mid-Atlantic coast and this is THE BEST Banfield in at least 5 states. I now try and schedule my dog's care for when we will be in Charlotte. The staff has always been great about clear communication. I feel so good knowing that Oslo's care is in their hands. If you are looking for animal care where the staff is knowledgeable and caring, this is the right spot. I will be forever grateful for the incredible experinces for my little best friend.

In the past I have received absolutely great service, however on 4 Oct 2023 it all changed as I sat in the room and waited to be seen, I could hear staff talking about myself and others in a very negative manner and trying to decide who would come to deal with me and how the really late person may not be seen for being so late. No professionalism at all with that type attitude and behavior.

I hate this place. I used to like it. I will not ever bring another pet to this evil place. I bought my cat in because he was bleeding from his butt. They charged me close to $300 for testing that amounted to nothing! They talk to you like don't worry, we are concerned about Oreo ... They did other tests, claimed it had to be either parasites or a change in his food. Meanwhile they did not ever do a test for bacterial infection and they refused to give me an antibiotic for him.He was bleeding from his butt!Well, he is not doing well and he is still bleeding from his butt!I took him to another vet that did the same thing. These people only care about charging you as much as they can.If you as a human went to the doctor and said that your butt was burning, itching, swollen and bleeding and the doctor said, just eat this vetanary care food that we are going to charge you above market rate for and take this probiotic, you will feel better and your butt should stop bleeding. that will be over $300, how would you like to pay?I asked for an antibiotic and they say, we don't like to give those to cats. We can do a sonogram for $365 if you like.I do not recommend this business at all!!!!

Weirdest experience ever at the South Park location here in Charlotte,NC. Brought my dog in today for his check up, the staff at check-in wasn't friendly didnt acknowledge my dog, smile or offer him a treat or show any type of welcome to him in a pet friendly way during his visit. Than while waiting when the doctor came into the room my wife mentioned he's hyper right now but he's usually given a treat during checkups that helps. The doctor said I don't have any treats on me and she turned to a chair that was dirty and full of hair from animals being on it grabbed whatever treat it may have been and gave it to him. Im thinking she about to throw the snack in the trash, being that it was on a dirty chair and she put it in his mouth, It happened so fast I couldn't even react but that was so unprofessional and nasty. She didn't know what dog or cat had that treat in their mouth that could have left some contagious bacteria on it or if my dog was allergic to whatever may have been in that treat. Place most definitely went down and I'm looking for new pet care for my 4legged son he deserves better care than that. South Park location do better.

Everyone is friendly and helpful. They work well with the pets. They call and give you a rundown but also ask if you have questions before picking your pet up. Can be hard to get appts sometimes but overall not a big issue.

They always take care of my girl and answer any questions I may have! I am a new dog mom and find myself lost a lot when it comes to basics. They show me useful apps and strategies that work for her training and feeding! I love them!

They failed to properly advise me on my pet’s potential condition and follow-up steps when bringing him to their office in July of 2022.After bringing him back in November 2022 when his condition worsened, they went as far as implying that he is a 16-year-old cat who is not worth the expense of additional testing by a specialist and insisted on medicating him without any confirmed diagnosis of his condition. We later discovered that Banfield does not offer an ultrasound test to diagnose that he had cancer and that referring us to a specialist would have resulted in reduced revenue for their practice. In the end, we had to go to an Emergency Veterinarian and pay a significant after-hours premium to properly diagnose his condition over Thanksgiving weekend after he progressively deteriorated under their care.If they had advised us of our options to perform an accurate diagnosis, we could have dealt with the situation proactively. This would have prevented him from suffering over several months while saving us a lot of unnecessary expenses. At the time of posting this original review, I had already reached out to them at the email address they responded with below and had filed a formal complaint.

I have had the best experience with the South Park Banfield. I’ve been taking my golden doodle, Finley, here since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 11 months old! Huge shoutout to Amber - she is so kind and goes above and beyond in caring for my Finley. I always look forward to seeing her when Finley has his appointments! Finley has been to the vet countless times for tummy issues and Amber always made sure to get Finley scheduled and taken care of right away when he was sick and that has been the biggest blessing. She takes great care of us! We are so thankful for you Amber! Shout out to Dr. Speights as well, she is wonderful and I feel so safe leaving my pup in her care. I am truly so grateful for the amazing team here, you all are the very best!
