Terrible customer service. I have a membership that I have been trying to cancel for two years and the system won't let me. I have already called customer service, sent the emails that the system asks me to, and I have not been able to stop paying for a system that I no longer use. Today I went to the store where I purchased the membership and the manager, very rudely, told me that he couldn't help me and that it was beyond his reach. I explained everything to him and he told me that I had to do everything again and that he wouldn't do anything to help me.

new to north carolina but have been coming to this barnes & nobles since i’ve arrived , and up until today ive always had a great experience.
i went in today not expecting to buy books but more so read what i already have and enjoy a drink from starbucks but they had such a good sale going on , i ended up spending $100 on 7 books , great deal. well fast forward , i go to use the restroom before heading out & the cashier had placed my set of books into 2 bags , well one of the bags tipped over while i was washing my hands & 3 of the books fell into the sink now had water damage. I TOTALLY KNOW THIS WAS MY FAULT but i thought it might not hurt to ask if i can swap these out , the worst they can say is no right ? the manager who came up to the front to answer my question was very much snarky & just kept letting me know how ‘he was losing money’ and ‘this was my fault’ which i totally get , i even said ‘hey if it’s your policy to not let me exchange them, i totally get it, you can say no , i just thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask’ which he then proceeds to tell me i can swap them but the amount of attitude was super unexpected & embarrassing! he made me feel so bad i only ended up swapping one book, keeping the other damaged books and literally just running out of the store. next time just say no but don’t make someone feel bad when i already felt bad about the books falling in the water in the first place.

To small it feels like the bookshelves are closing in on you! Try the barnes & Noble by Carolina Place Mall. So much better!

Not a fan of Barnes & nobles but they have a very nice selection of reads etc Customer service was good 😊

Pros: Book selection clearly visible, clean restrooms, several seating areas, and free Internet. Next to Harris Teeter Shopping Market.
Cons: Smaller than the average Barnes and Noble, I have visited in the past. Not all topics are available such as professional development, career advice, etc. Starbucks doesn't take Starbucks gift cards. Can be crowded during none school hours.

It was their sale for Memorial Day and it was very disorganized and they had marked the stickers wrong. So when I went up to check out the woman checking me out was beyond rude and said that the stickers were not supposed to be on my items. I said that was fine and I would still take my items but explained to her that they had obviously been marking the records wrong because a lot of the records had stickers despite her saying they were not on sale. I understand that she could have been frustrated with people moving stickers on items but it was clear that a big part of the issue was that they were not marking their items accurately seeing as she said my items were not included in the sale yet many of the records had stickers and when I tried to inform her of this she was beyond rude. I know customer service is frustrating but she had no reason to speak to anyone the way that she spoke to me today. My sister had to step outside because she was getting so upset with how this woman was speaking. (Also if the sticker system does not work and leads to inaccuracy there are many other ways to do sales and clearly this store needs to find another way)
