Never use Budget. They are terrible. We needed a truck for moving our daughter to VA and she booked one to pickup in Kannapolis. We go to get the truck and they say they no longer have trucks there because people were stealing converters off the trucks there. They tell us to call the 800 number to find another truck. The 800 number tell us to go get our truck at an auto repair place that has budget trucks in Concord. I call them on the way to verify and the place tells me they don’t have trucks available. We finally find a truck ourselves at a budget in Charlotte and get that one. In case you are wondering we didn’t want to go with UHaul because you pay miles plus the rental.On the way to VA we stopped for gas and unable to put gas in the truck, kept shutting off. Stopped at another station later and it was fine.We completed the move and when i stopped at 2 gas stations on the way to dropping the truck off neither worked. When we got to the auto repair shop to drop the truck there was no one there at 11am on a Friday. I wrote a note on the contract about the gas and dropped it with the keys in the dropbox.Five days later I get a call from Budget loss prevention saying they can prosecute me if I don’t return the truck. I’m livid at this point. My wife and the loss lady call the shop we dropped off and they don’t answer. The woman said they would get it handled and show the truck returned. Several days later I get a certified letter about returning the truck dated the day after we spoke to the woman and I get $165 charge on my card for the $65 worth of gas i couldn’t put in the truck. They finally show the truck returned, but they were only willing to credit $35 on the gas. I filed a dispute with my card which i just lost the dispute. Budget is going to get an earfull later and a negative review to add to their BBB.

Do not rent from here if a definite rental without worry is what you need. I reserved a moving truck 8 weeks in advance of my pick up date. Once arrived, the employee stated that she did not have any trucks for me even though I had a reservation and had given all her trucks away that morning. Once I gave her my name, she stated that she did in fact give my truck away. This leaves me without a truck.

Gave a bad truck AND trailer. Spent 2xxx only to be unable to fill the truck and make a second trip. Truck was leaking oil, had faulty lights, a taped dashboard, emergency lights, a busted back bumper weld, interior damage in the back, a broken seatbelt, wasnt cleaned, and was missing the hand truck. Trailer had seized tie downs, a flat tire, faulty lights, and the spring on the tire tiedown snapped mid trip. I was unable to make my second trip or fill the truck for the first trip due to the condition. Budget refuses to give me a new truck to complete my trip, hasnt refunded the hand truck, and only offered 3xx after further discussion. The company also had the wrong name on reservation, checked the truck out incorrectly, and refused to respond to the manager at the drop-off location. The truck and trailer had to be taken out of service for repairs. This location told us to ignore the emergency lights but that clearly was a terrible idea because the truck would randomly drop to 45mpg and had the abs light along with a triangle related to def on. The latch on the truck had a broken weld. Also, check with your insurance, they said mine likely wouldn’t cover it but that was incorrect. I couldve saved a few hundred on it and spent $6 for mine. I now have half of my stuff in NC and have to pay for a second truck elsewhere. My car couldve fallen off and killed someone, I could’ve been in an accident with a broken seatbelt, or I couldve been stuck on the side of the road near a hurricane area because it was originally out of def and they thought it was gas to begin with. My driving partner happened to know about it and catch it.

So angry. Reserved a 12 foot truck, arrived only a 16 foot was available; much harder to manage on the road and did not want the larger truck. They demanded we get additional insurance costing over $100. Claimed that our car insurance does not cover truck rental. There was no mention of additional fees online when I reserved the truck. We have rented numerous rental trucks in the past, and never had to pay an additional insurance fee.

This location has always provided me with great customer service. Make sure you know their hours of operation and if you have any issues with your pickup time, give them a call during their hours of operation and they will work with you. ?

I just rented a truck on Sat. Almost didn’t because of the reviews. Glad I did, the location is under new management. The new owner too over in April. They asked us to be patient with them. Since they we new to Budget trucks and learning. We didn’t mind and they were so friendly we felt like we had made new friends by the time we left. Very pleasant encounter.The location will be the only place I rent trucks from , from now own. Glad I didn’t believe the bad reviews.

You should have it bold that this location is only open until 6. What terrible hours for a rental. Then people would know to return to the airport. Now I have to Pay an additional day just to drive it 13 mins to the airport so I don’t miss my flight after I drove it all the way from pa.

New Update: Back in March 2023, I went in to rent an vehicle. I was told I could use my credit card for down payment and when I drop off, I could pay with my debit card. My credit company has filed fraud because I told them to not charge my credit card upon drop off. What is so egregious about this Budget company, nobody has tried to contact me and rectify the situation. I'm looking over all the bad reviews 7 years ago. Obviously, these people only care about money paper illusion verses the customer satisfaction. We all need to file a lawsuit against budget rentals. Previously used and vehicle was nice but needed oil change. I met three different reps while renting. Each rep told me different things to do far as how I could pay upon returning. The day of return I specifically told rep to not charge my credit card because other reps told me I could pay with debit. Tell me he still charged my credit card. And now I'm be billed by credit card. When the others representatives told me it didn't matter how I paid upon returning vehicle. All these rental car businesses are scammers.

My husband picked up a rental car for an upcoming trip. We normally drive our own car, but we were leaving it for my daughter who was housesitting. I should have looked myself given the appearance of the man doing the walk around. He very sloppily dressed - to the point that I thought he was a customer turning in the rental truck blocking the entrance to the location. Definitely not the usual appearance of most rental car locations I’ve encountered, but he took the car & brought it home.When we started loading it the next morning, we noticed how it clearly had not been cleaned. There were footprints on the windshield, spilled food/drinks in the doors & on the floor, mud on the seats & inside the back door & the dash had dust & particles of something on it. And don’t forget about the washcloth & paperwork from a previous rental between the seats! It was absolutely disgusting. It took us 30” to wipe everything down so surfaces weren’t sticky & were better sanitized. I called customer service & they said we will get a credit after we return the car. We’ll see. Even for Budget, this was just an awful was to start our trip.

This business has been shot up with bullets and still have bullet holes in the walls. The staff is incredibly disrespectful, rude and have no empathy for people dealing with loss and stress. I rented a car 2 weeks prior to going to pick up my car. When renting a car we can pick it up within 24 hours and I called and explained there was high traffic. When I arrived I was immediately disrespected. This facility causes anxiety and intense stress which I can see why people get incredibly upset when entering this facility.

No customer service. Worn out car rentals. I was charged a "fuel" service charge after I turned in the rental with a full tank. I had switched to this location however I will now be moving my business to Enterprise.

STAY AWAY!!The truck was horrible!Check engine light was on. John claimed it had just been serviced and it would go off. Never did. Super dangerous. At time of return we were told the truck would immediately go back to service and was not rentable.The franchise owner, John, is a fraud.Withheld the truck rental until we paid the highest coverage level insurance plan (never mentioned there are 3 choices/pricing for this protection).Lied straight up and said is was NC law.Regional Performance Territory Manager, Thai Snyder, sought out our business and now will not respond to our need for help!!

We had booked through budget and had everything reserved. Went to go and pick up the vehicle at the reserved time and the front desk was rude and not helpful. Come to find out they did not have a vehicle and we would have to wait at least 3 hours to maybe get a vehicle which we would not work. Then also says her owner does not just do one ways. Left my phone number to speak to the owner and owner never called. Pick a different budget around Charlotte. This one is just rude and does not need your business.

They were supposed to open at 8:00am but didn't open until 8:30am. Then they guy looked irritated that we were trying to get in, now I made my reservation online prepaid with my Chime debit card.. he said we don't accept those, and it wouldn't take payment online, like I was lying..... I'm showing him the receipt but again I was wrong. So I had to cancel the reservation. Never going to this location again!! Oh oh they also had a bullet hole in their window like what!!!!!
