Excellent staff and facility. Workouts are fun and challenging and are adjusted based on your abilities. I haven't been in this good of shape since my college football days and that was 25 years ago.

Where to even begin...the ownership and coaching team at CrossFit Mountain Island are amazing. You'll be warmly greeted when you walk in the door, then provided with a tailored and challenging workout.I came in with high expectations and those were quickly surpassed. The initial reason for coming in was to recover strength after a minor shoulder surgery. I've worked with high performing coaches before, and this team is top notch. The attention to detail and help during the workouts are incredible...little hints and small adjustments to ensure my form is safe and I'm staying healthy.This is way more than a gym...its a community. If you want more than just getting sweaty, stop by and find out what kind of program makes sense. My wife and I come here multiple times weekly and are thrilled to have this incredible group in our lives!

I love this gym! I’ve been coming here for a few months now, and have been a regular gym-goer for over a decade. Before becoming a member, I was always very wary of CrossFit; like most people, I heard horror stories of injuries and was put off by its emphasis on explosive strength exercises. I was completely wrong.While there is a significance assigned to being explosive, it’s all functional, and more importantly, very safe. The coaches are constantly walking around, inspecting your form, whether you’re a newcomer or seasoned veteran. They’re big on adjustments, highly encouraging, and quick to tell you when a movement was a fail so that you don’t keep attempting it with improper form and potentially hurt yourself. It’s a fun and functional workout with safety top of mind, and fun a close second.Aside from the coaches’ expertise, the gym also offers monthly/ quarterly check-ins where you can set goals and quantifiably measure your progress with an in-body scan. This is great because you can actually see how much bone density and muscle mass you’ve gained as well as how much body fat you’ve lost.

Joining this gym is one of the best decisions i’ve made. I was getting close to turning 40 & decided it was time to make a lifestyle change. I needed help with both exercise & nutrition. It was overwhelming because of the CrossFit name but the hardest part was walking through the door. I’ve been a member for 3 years which speaks volumes about the coaches & other members. Everyone is welcoming & encouraging no matter what your athletic ability is. The workouts are scaled in the app to your athletic ability to make it less intimidating. The coaches are also knowledgeable who are there to answer questions & correct form. I highly recommend this gym no matter where you’re at on your fitness journey!

CFMI is my “home away from home”. The programming is challenging, but always fun. The level method allows for all levels of fitness so you can challenge yourself every day. Coaches Coty, Noelle, Lindsay, and Megan do a fantastic job of teaching proper form and tweaking workouts when necessary.The sense of community in this gym is second to none. Everyone is encouraging and supportive. There is not a day that goes by that I’m not excited to walk through the doors and get a good sweat in with friends. I am thankful for everyone that has a part in this gym. Walking through the doors 10 months ago has truly been life changing!

Just joined in September of 2023 and it has been an incredible experience. First time getting into CrossFit, and the system they have makes it easy and inviting to move at your own pace! Excited to be a part of this gym for years to come.

First time CrossFit guy here and just finished my first month, and I'm here to stay! CrossFit as a whole has an amazing community that I have gotten to see and be a part of for just a short time but it is amazing to see how accepting it is of any athletic level and the attention to detail and scalable workouts to build up to what each person is capable of. The trainers at CrossFit Mountain Island pay close detail to form, which is great for a beginner like me who had both existing conditions that make some workouts more difficult and preconceived ideas that some workouts were just "bad for you." With their help and detailed answers to any and all questions, taboos or myths get confidently dispelled.Truly an amazing gym and highly recommend for any person of any athletic level to tryout!

Overall pretty good experience! The owners and coaches are friendly and personable, and I always had a great workout each class.Unfortunately, I will not be returning - I left feeling taken advantage of, and removed 2 stars from my review for the following reason:**Be aware that even if you register/pay for only 1 month, you have to complete a specific online cancellation form 4 weeks prior to cancelling, or else you are consenting to be billed for another month- which means if you just want to try it out for a month (like I did), you need to complete the online cancellation form the same day that you register/pay for 1 month!!**I signed up and paid for 1 month and was under the impression that I would not be billed for additional months nor under any ongoing contract. However, after I approached the end of my 1 month and thanked one of the owners for the experience, I was told I hadn't completed the online cancellation form 4 weeks prior, and therefore would be billed for a 2nd month.I was then texted a link to the online cancellation form, along with a photo of a contract I signed agreeing to the 4 week cancellation policy, so I know that they were legally in-bounds to charge me for a 2nd month next week… and then they charged my credit card. Though, I did respond that I wasn't aware I had to complete this online cancellation form and that this was a major inconvenience for me.I obviously/unfortunately didn't read the forms on the laptop in their office closely enough before signing when I initially met with them to sign up/pay for 1 month (major lesson learned for me).My plan was to try some other gyms, and maybe come back after a couple months depending on what best fits me, but, after the way this major miscommunication was handled, I won't be returning.In conclusion: Definitely worth trying this gym out- Thad an overall more positive than negative experience. However, I recommend asking for a copy of their forms to review closely (or just take your time reading them) before signing.

Couldn’t recommend this gym more for all levels. They’ll meet you halfway if you put in the work, and it’s a fantastic place to put in the work. CFMI isn't what I expected a CrossFit gym to be. Everything from the programming to the sense of community fosters growth and connection. Join. You absolutely will not regret it!

Not Just Crossfit. Safe, Expert, Personal Training.After a long recovery from a couple major surgeries (brain surgery) I had lost a lot of strength and muscle, and confidence I was also now preparing to go into knee replacement surgery and wanted to gain strength and stability going into that for a successful recovery. Thankfully, I had worked with Coty years ago at another gym and knew he was the person to see. Coty has expert precision in creating workouts specifically to maintain safety while building strength and working WITH injuries so I can make progress in smart ways. With expert knowledge, he pinpoints adjustments and educates me on the cause of painful areas and what I can do about it. He is also sincere and passionate in his genuine care--a total professional. Megan is also a fantastic trainer who pays attention to my form while also pushing me to do more than I thought I could. She & Coty also support me with workouts when I'm traveling to help me stay on track. After a few months, I'm already feeling better overall and I'm eager to continue after knee surgery -- making this my second home with a wonderful group of people. It's not just crossfit and it's not like any other crossfit gym!
