Disappointed. Do not recommend this location. Do like other locations but this one just sucks. They are understaffed and the servers they have move slow and have zero personality. Food was mediocre. And the restaurant itself seems dirty and not welcoming.

Things started off fine enough, we love Famous Toastery in Winston Salem so we were expecting the same standards especially for a nicer area of Charlotte. First thing that was irritating: -We ordered cappuccinos which came out looking delicious but my friend wanted some creamer since they're so strong. Nbd right? wrong. All the other tables had creamer except for ours. It took 10+ minutes before we could catch anyone's eye or grab our server to ask for creamer. So she pretty much just sat there watching her coffee get cold. Second issue: -We ordered our food, were super excited and hungry, again, we had been to a Famous Toastery before so had good expectations. I ordered the famous corned beef hash and my friend ordered the breakfast protein bowl or what not (not sure on name exactly). Both were supposed to be very high protein meals.. which is why we picked them. Both came out and were pretty much 95% potato and 5% meat. SUCH a disappointment. The potato wasn't even good enough to be padding portions with. The corned beef hash was nice and crispy how I would expect but as soon as you got a bite scooped up it was basically mashed potatoes with tiny bits of corned beef in bites here and there. I don't even mean chunks of corned beef - I mean tiny little strings. The only good part about it was the eggs and hollandaise sauce - not remotely worth what I paid for this meal. Third issue: -We ordered a gluten free waffle to share. We usually love the waffles here but we hadn't ordered gluten free ones before, and were excited about the toppings that come on the waffles. We ordered it and our server confirmed and asked us to make sure we wanted the toppings since normally GF waffles don't just naturally come with any toppings besides like four pieces of strawberry. We confirmed with her and when it came out, it was a plain waffle with a few pieces of fruit on top. It looked good but frankly for how expensive everything is - this is not up to standards set. Plus who would ever think "oh people who need a gluten free menu definitely wouldn't expect the same toppings"??? Screams rip off to me. Our server came over and checked in with us and we asked for the toppings on the side so we could add. Right after that, the manager came and asked the same and we told her we were just waiting on toppings. She responded that the GF waffles don't include toppings. We explained to her that we had already confirmed before ordering that it would have toppings, and she said she would bring some to make sure we got them. Our server did bring a tiny side of the fruit compote but that was the extent of that... Fourth Issue: -Our server closed our tab/dropped our bill off with our food? It was so odd. She didn't ask if we were finished, we had literally been there for maybe 25/30 min. Didn't ask if we wanted to split it. Zero communication there. We saw her a handful of times after food came out then she disappeared after she cleared a few plates, at which point we hadn't touched our waffle yet and we had no forks. We couldn't get a hold of anyone for well close to 10 min and finally caught the eye of another server or busser to ask for forks. So waffle was cold.. Fifth issue: -Our server had disappeared at this point so we assumed we were supposed to pay at the front desk or something. Eventually found someone else near the bar to check us out so we could pay. We definitely weren't supposed to pay at the front lol. Lastly, the setting itself is so off. It's as if someone hired a nice designer to pick out fancy chandeliers and build a fancy bar then the restaurant cheaped out on tables and actual place settings. The location in Winston Salem feels fully upscale and we never have these issues with so I'd suggest whoever owns this location of the franchise or is managing their location, to take a serious look at what they're even trying to accomplish here. The whole experience had almost no value to it. Not remotely worth the $70 brunch (no cocktails in that numb

Terrible food and service. Unclean table and the waitress didn't blink an eye when she saw me cleaning it. Told me that I could throw out the napkin in the bathroom! What I ordered was apparently new menu and not available. Our meals came out across a 15 minute time frame. My avocado toast was revolting: some sort of fake avo creme. The waitress (white, long brown hair, same one who didn't help clean the table) didn't refill my friend's coffee request. Another waitress (short, dark skin, very competent) came by and took care of that immediately. Place was empty, as it will stay with this hopeless situation

I like the this restaurant. I've been to a number of different locations and have been happy with my selections. My only complaint is they keep them VERY cold which can result in cold food sometimes.
