I bought a M5 from this location on 12/24/23. Fourty-two days later, my coolant reservoir was bone dry. I received error messages. I took the car back to Northlake BMW twice. They clearly saw the leak from the reservoir and they knew the issue was something I could not have caused in the short I had the vehicle. I asked them if it was covered under the warranty I bought with the vehicle. My response was "we won't know until after you pay for the diagnosis. You might be covered but we don't know". They wanted me to bring the car in 4 days later. I called the BMW independence store and they added me as an emergency appt because they did not want to cause engine issues to an expensive M car engine. Beforehand, I called around to other dealers who confirmed that the issue would happen over a much longer period of time. Northlake kept saying "we never know what could have caused it so we don't know if it's covered". Thankfully, Hendrick BMW on independence blvd was about to contact a claims rep as requested and confirm it was indeed covered under my warranty. I was also given additional information to contact the warranty company myself. She accomplished what they told me could not be done until after a diagnosis in the first 5 mins with me at her desk. I understood that if it was more than the reservoir and it wasn't covered, then I would be liable. Northlake was too scared of being wrong, they walked in circles to avoid answering any questions. Thankfully Hendrick BMW on Independence diagnosed the issue in half an hour and they had the part in stock. I was taken care of in 2.5 hours instead of the week it would've taken Northlake. I live 2 miles from the Northlake location, but I'll gladly drive past them to the Independence location to avoid wasting anymore of my time and actually getting great customer service. Give your customers answers instead of a bunch of garbage bc you're worried about CYA. Most people will understand that a diagnosis could uncover a part that's not warrantied but at least have the knowledge to tell them if the part in question is under warranty or not prior to the diagnosis. The other Hendrick BMW on independence told me the part in question was covered for up to 12k miles or 12 mo with a $50 deductible ahead of time. It wasn't difficult for Independence reps, so why did Northlake struggle so much? And I also expected a sales representative to step in and assist but I just got lectured in circles instead. They're nice people for sure but they had 0 helpful knowledge to relay to their "valued" customer and were too scared something will come back to bite them to step up and help. It was definitely a let down.

Excellent experience here. Carl Busby, helped my husband find his perfect BMW, Chris Cave, Cameron Ragland, and Brandon were all helpful and made everything go smoothly. And we even got swag bags! In all of the years of buying vehicles from Ford, Pontiac, Dodge, Jaguar, Chrysler, etc, we never even got a key chain!

Carl is professional, knowledgeable, patient as we went through ordering and purchase. It was a several month process from the time we started our research.
