Charlotte's welcoming space for International visitors and international residents AND a great place for "locals" to interact with people from all over the Earth.

I pray that they remain there as a resource forever! Great location. Easy to access. The parking there is amazing and they host some of my favorite nonprofits there!

Charlotte's home for citizen diplomacy, cultural appreciation and immigrant advocacy. Come check it out! This is a picture of the auditorium. There's much more to see and experience, like language conversation hours, book clubs, women's groups and more, with people of all backgrounds.

Visited this place in 2015 while on an International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). The International House never disappointed me during my trip. Specially the hospitality of Program Director: Ms. Johnelle Causwell who is still remembered with good words. The house boasts cultural activities, community activities as well as international learning activities for people from around the world through various government and non government agencies to promote inter-culturalism and harmony.

The International House aims to be the hub of international cultural activity in Charlotte and it does not disappoint. There are many services housed inside the old Midwood High School. If you have never been, take a walk through, and better yet, check out all the flyers and attend a couple events. The Japanese Center, Light Museum, History, and Culture all inside.

They have conversation hours in which you get together for an hour and speak that language. I attend the Spanish ones. For all of the languages groups, they have a facilitator. It is a great way to practice a language and best of all it's free. You can meet people from all walks of life there.
