What did I like about it? Absolutely nothing! I stopped in last night, looking for a vaporizer setup. When nobody approached me to offer help, I picked up a package to study for myself. After about 30 seconds of perusing, the clerk behind the counter approached me, obviously suspicious of theft, to which I responded "I'm just looking, " and asked about available flavors.
That's when things got ugly.
Another employee came up from behind me and told me that they were about to review the surveillance footage and the cops were on the way. I told them to feel free and lifted my shirt, patted my pockets, etc, to show that there's no way I could have concealed a package of that size on my person (it's July and I'm wearing a Polo Shirt and khakis). I'm talking about a box approximately 3x the size of a container of movie theater candy!
After remembering that I hate cops, I decided to casually and respectfully leave. Clerk number 2 follows me out, telling a man outside that I stole from them. I got out of my car, again lifted my shirt and motioned for them to feel free to peer into my car. Unsatisfied with this, the man said that he was the manager and proceeded to threaten to slap me and God knows what else. At this point I was seated in my car with the door closed. Not exactly an advantageous angle to fight some moron with wannabe Kangaroo clerk's syndrome. Besides, I'm 36 years old and way beyond my days of handling avoidable disputes with my fists.
The whole time, clerk no 2 was watching on with approval. What an awful store, mostly staffed by awful "workers." I can't remember the last time I stopped by there for cigarettes when I used to smoke, when I wasn't hassled by patrons for cigarettes, money or to solicit drugs. Now it's the employees doing the harassing! What a shithole. I remember when the Eastside of Charlotte was beautiful...when I called it home. Now I call it, well, a shithole.
