We love this place. From the gym to the pools to tennis and kids activities....this place has it all. Top it off with friendly faces, and it's a total win. So glad we became members years ago.

5 stars all the way. I’ve been a member for over 20 years. Very clean facility, great staff, best in CNC…. Only need to keep up on the soap dispensers in the Men’s locker room, always empty after 6pm.I would recommend to anyone looking for a great, complete facility in Charlotte. It’s like a second home that you will LOVE.

Joining the J after retiring has changed my life. This beautiful and well-maintained facility offers all the programs, resources, and equipment you'd ever need to have fun and get/stay fit ~ racquet sports, gorgeous pools, indoor and outdoor tracks, gyms, classes, you name it! Very friendly members and helpful staff, too.

I grew up at ‘The J’, it was like a 2nd home for me as a kid and teen. I visited there today, and omg has it changed (and I don’t mean by adding new rooms and buildings). It’s become a geriatric center. It should be renamed Jewish Community Center For Old Folks. Other than the pool (no diving board anymore), there doesn’t appear to be any appeal to young folks. When a group of campers were passing through the lobby, they were hurled with ‘shhhhh’ from multiple employees. The former play-room with arcade, TV, ping-pong, couches… is long gone. The past few decades have obviously focused on the interests of the 60+ crowd. It’s become as safe as Fort Knox with all the security, but extremely lame at the same time. Even the little library didn’t have any learning toys for my kids to play with for a bit.

Haven't done much other than water aerobics, but love it and hope to branch out once a little more comfortable.

Since Peter Blair resigned, the J has not been the same. As others have mentioned the facilities are old, dated and dirty. Hoping the interim Manager is only temporary, as too many members are either leaving, or contemplating leaving due to a hostile environment
