Although Dr. Washington conducted a thorough examination, I was initially expecting to meet Dr. Morrison, and the change wasn't communicated. The lack of transparency in this regard was disappointing. On the positive side, Dr. Washington's examination was comprehensive. However, the front staff's attitude was a huge letdown. Showing little interest in whether I chose to purchase glasses from them. Waiting times were also an issue, and the staff was hesitant to provide recommendations on glasses or pricing . Overall, the medical care was satisfactory, but improvements in communication and customer service are needed for a more positive experience. Seeing all these reviews from other customers I can assure one thing that nothing has changed.

My eye exam was December 4, 2023. Dr. Washington was very professional and thorough. On January 3, 2024 I received a text that my contacts, daily wear, although I preferred monthly, had arrived and ready for pick up. During the month of waiting I called several times with concerns about type of contacts, insurance and a remedy for my concerns. My calls were not returned. I would have to call back. The last call I spoke with whom I believe was the manager. Nope no follow up.

Was scheduled for a 1250 appt and I showed up to a locked facility that is closed from 12-1 for a staff Christmas party ? I'm all for parties and doing nice things for staff, but be courteous of your patients' time and schedules and don't schedule them during a time you plan to be closed!!! And if it was a last minute decision to be closed, then contact the patients and tell them you need to reschedule!! Rude and ridiculous...

Basically a ZERO STAR. Avoid the office at all cost. Saw Dr. Washington and felt like the exam was not thorough. She basically just had my sister read letters, didn't even check and see if eyes were healthy or anything. My sister has amblyopia and she didn't say anything until I ask questions. Just sent the prescription through.Also, front desk and optical staff is HORRIBLE. The black lady at optical didn't acknowledged me even though my stuff was literally on her desk and she instead called another patient over. She was rude and off putting just because we didn't want to order glasses. Why would we give our order to someone who is nasty? Can say goodbye to commissions.And front desk lady could not help with ANYTHING. She cannot simply check me out because she is training. Had to wait over 20 minutes until I ask her to get someone to help me if she can't. And the lady Felicia helped me check out but insisted that the copay include the Optomap when we didn't do it. Just overall a mess from beginning to end.

Writing this review as I have been waiting over an hour. A machine was broken and they put me in an exam room. It’s so stuffy and hot so I opened the door the stand in the hallway. I was told I was only allowed to wait in the room even though it’s blistering hot. Staff is unprofessional. Dr. Morrison is great, but the staff here is horrible.

I personally would not recommend this location. I'd been a patient for years, seeing Dr. Morrison, who is absolutely amazing... but the staff is horrible. I'd always overlooked those bad experiences with the staff, just to continue seeing Dr. Morrison. Today was just the final straw for me. I was scheduled for 2pm and arrived at 1:55pm to be told that my appointment was canceled because it wasn't confirmed? I would have much rather received communications about the appointment being canceled versus showing up to learn that it was canceled especially being that I received an email reminder yesterday for today's appointment. I am unable to access my portal, due to an old phone number. I was allowed to set an appointment, but was unable to confirm in the portal since I was unable to get in. The email notification states that you can't confirm the appointments via email. & maybe I missed something, but I set the appointment and I have never missed or canceled appointment. When I got to the office to learn that my appointment was canceled, it was an "oh well" demeanor given versus an option to reschedule or even update my phone number on file. I was visibly upset because this had never happened to me in the 5 years I've been coming to this location and the dismissal from the receptionist was frustrating. However, I know that there are more optometrists than there are people who need the service. So, although disheartening, I will gladly begin my search for a new provider. Dealing with the staff was unpleasant enough, but completely wasting my time is another issue. Why allow online scheduling if you're not going to hold people true to their word when they say they'll be in attendance? With the amount of appointments always available, why are you canceling appointments for current patients AFTER still sending a reminder for the appointment the day of? Doesn't make any sense to me, but the only thing I can really do is remove myself and find a better office with a more accepting environment.

Great exam! Dr. Morrison look like she's in middle school but knows her stuff. Staff is awesome as well. Even the GM was helping out to ensure the flow goes smoothly. Love that I found a woman of color to partner with me to stay on top of my vision. There's nothing like going to a place and not feel pressured in buying something but feel the comfortability of the staff.

Dr. Sherelle Morrison is VERY thorough! Imagine waking up one morning & part of your vision is gone! I had an optical nerve stroke in the middle of the night & did not know it! Now imagine as an artist, used to a world of color & vibrancy, covering your eye, trying to see the numbers on paper displayed in different colors only to see gray circles & no numbers. In a moment, life for me was forever changed. No warning. Forever changed! My appointment with her was 6:30 in the evening. Dr. Morrison was fully compassionate & went the extra mile getting me in to see a specialist the very next morning! It has been a year and a half & I am forever thankful to her for her kindness, compassion, and thoroughness. Your vision is a gift that must be well taken care of. I feel that Dr. Morrison will do so. Thank you Dr. Morrison, from the bottom of my heart!

Something for sure is off with this location. Staff made you feel like you were bothering them. Received no help when selecting frame. The order was processed wrong. Asked for an updated invoice and was told the system was down. Told I would get one sent to me, never did. Requested a call back and never received one. Scam vibes.

UPDATE: HAD A PROBLEM. AN ANNOYING ONE LIKELY STEMMING FROM INCOMPETENCE OR UNWILLINGNESS TO SUPPORT. I WAS CHARGED $581 upfront for contacts. I paid them upfront. Then found out they didn't apply my insurance to the claim, but made it look like they did. So in fact I paid $581 for contact lenses when I should have paid $260. That means they knowingly or incompetently stole $221 from me. Garbage joint. Stay away from this place. I really wanted to trust and believe in them since I've been going here for a few years and up until this point haven't had too much of an issue, but I knew something felt wrong on this visit. The economy is hurting a lot of people, but I just don't want to believe this place would do something this shady/sleazy. Regardless, I'm looking for a new place for contacts/glasses.OLD POST: Never had a problem here. They check your eyes and then you pick out glasses or contacts. It's easy

Definitely I will not recommend this place to anyone the worst customer service I have ever seen from a young girl at the front desk, which I called her a day prior asking for my father-in-law 84 year old because he got an Obama care to get a pair of eyeglasses and she assured me that will not cost more than $100 out of pocket so then when we went the next day on April 04-23 there she started telling me that they do not accept the Obama care Ambetter there so her attitude was so bad and and very rude.I gave her the member ID number and all the information over the phone so when we got there she was just lying about our conversation and telling me that they are a serious business.

I have been an My Eye Dr customer for a few years now, myself and my child but after today I am extremely dissatisfied. I was in on 3/22/2023 for my eye exam I ordered contacts and after discussing with the employee decided to purchase glasses as well, as I was informed if the glasses didn't work I would be able to get a refund. On today when I went in to pick up the glasses, my worse fear was a reality when the glasses where not acceptable as I had explained my reluctance to by glasses because of my high prescription and fear that I would have the same issue I had in the past where the lenses would stick out on the side of the glasses, in which the representative assured me she would be able to order special lenses to prevent this issue and if I was unhappy I would be able to get a refund. I paid $350 and now to be told that although the glasses are exactly as I'd feared I couldn't get a refund. This is extremely unethical to sell an item under false pretense, I would've never agreed to spend that much money without being informed I could receive a refund if I was unhappy. The representative today even tried to refund me as she had promised and when she couldn't figure the process out, asked a co-worker that was sitting beside her for assistance at that time she was informed it couldn't be done. I requested the mgr and she got the guy who refused to refund me although the error was that of his employee. It's apparent she wasn't aware of the process fully but that is an internal error not my fault. I do not recommend this company, I will never use them again!

Dr. S. Morrison is the best!! I was pleased to find a Black eye doctor who is kind, caring and spends time sharing, educating and answering questions from her patients. My whole family comes here and we love and appreciate her. Thank you for all you do!!

Sarah is wonderful! A few weeks ago, she lent an honest and very much needed opinion as I selected new glasses. Today when I picked them up, she was juggling multiple customers and was amazing in accommodating and setting expectations with so many people. Thanks again, Sarah - you are why people purchase from Bricks and Mortar!
