Save your time and energy, I’ve been with South State a few months now and let me just say… SLEAZY !!! Everyday i wake up there’s money missing from my account whether it’s $2 or $64 … BOTH TRANSACTIONS HAVE HAPPENED BY THE WAY WITH NO NOTICE BEFOREHAND … I hate this bank

Wanted to do an international wire transfer and there is only one employee who does them and he was on lunch! I was told he’ll be back in an hour!!They tried to see if I can do it in another location close by and they called to check but of course the other person was on lunch as well.

I moved all my business accounts from Wells Fargo to South State Bank years ago due to poor customer service at Wells. The customer service at South State is top notch. Any issue I have had with my businesses has been handled professionally and efficiently. All of the staff are great to work with and very friendly. South States website and app for the phone are awesome! Super intuitive and user friendly. The only reason I didn't give five stars is due to the fact the bank does not have an ATM on the exterior of the bank, there is one in the lobby; so no ATM transactions outside of business hours.

Just open an acct with this bank but can't even use the ATM since its inside the lobby. It would be nice of them to refund me my atm fees from wells fargo since I had no way to use there atm.

Love this bank! They take the time to learn your name and it feels very personal, like you are not just another customer. I have been with this bank since it was Scottish Bank in 2006 and this branch at Morehead St is very nice with plenty of parking. I highly recommend. Always friendly on the phone too.

The sign on the road indicates that an ATM is on site. Unless it's inside the bank, there is no ATM here.

I've dealt with South State Bank for years. One of our accounts (an old health savings account),somehow got over drafted $1.19. For this, they wrote me a nasty and disgraceful letter threatening me report me to ChexSystems, turn my account over to a collection agency, an attorney, and report me to athe credit bureau. All for $1.19. Clearly the management team at South State Bank is asleep at the wheel when it comes to customer service.
