I was diagnosed with a blood cancer called Mutiple Myeloma April 2023. I contacted Mr. Veale about a having a pharmocogenetic test called PGX testing. Due to the complexity this blood cancer, I was afraid of what I would be facing overall. Having this test gave me confidence that I would have some say so when it came to what medications and the chemotherapy drugs that I would be taking were compatible with my genetic make-up. The investment of having PGX testing continues be a powerful tool for me as going to multiple doctors will continue to be a way of life for me. This report has categorized medication classifications that are clear and easy to read. The information provided allows me and my multiple discipline doctors to see what medications work for my body. This is very important to me as the patient because side effects can range from itching to full anaphylaxis, even death. As an example, I was unable to take multiple blood pressure medications that are currently on the market. Thanks to PGX testing, my doctor and I finally found relativity unknown medication worked. No side effects to report! Today, my blood pressure is under control. Thank you, Mr. Veale and the staff at PHD Laboratory for the wonderful work that you are doing! I am truly grateful.

PHD Laboratory did a PGX test on me to show me what medication was harmful for. Me and it was accurate because some of the medication on the results did give me side effects before we knew this test exist.

Did a PGX test through this facility. I’m in remission from Breast Cancer. I wanted to know if the medication I had taken was the right medication to get rid of the cancer and potentially keep it away. After taking this test I realized that one of the medications I was taking (Tamoxifen) was on the list as a medication that does not metabolize well for my genetic makeup and that i should not take it. It makes complete sense now, why I felt terrible taking it. It made me extremely sick and I had bad reactions to it. Now that I have this test any medication that I am ever prescribed, I will know as well as my primary care provider will know, if it’s good for me or not. I suggest everyone get this once in a lifetime test not only for yourself but for your loved ones too.

Tried for weeks to get someone to communicate with me (leaving phone message and going through their online "set up an appointment" option.) NEVER heard back. Not even a voice message . . . even after expressing (nicely) how timely the need to connect with them was.
