We used the pod to store renovation materials while we remodeled our home. It worked perfectly. The pod drop off experience was excellent and the driver was professional. The pick up experience was the complete opposite. The driver when removing the pod dragged a trench about 10-15 feet long in our gravel driveway and drove off without apologizing/recognizing the damage he had done or even attempting to communicate with us. I didn't want to take more stars off than 2 because honestly the service was good and the price was competitive, but PODS definitely tripped on the finish line with this one.

Our experience with this company was absolutely 5 star but I would like to warn any residents of Pineville, NC… there evidently is a regulation that you may only have these units in your driveway for 2 weeks, 4 if approved for an extension. I live in this town and walk frequently, so I know for fact this ‘regulation’ isn’t always enforced but if you have a miserable/ lonely neighbor that has nothing better to do than call in complaints, you will hear from the town.

Things started off to a great start. The pick up driver was awesome and professional. However that is where things were left. On the day of our scheduled delivery. I never received an email, phone call, text, nothing. Even the website stated the delivery day and time was the same as originally declared. We had our friend drive 2 hours up to help us unload the POD because I was on a deadline before I started my new job and had to fly out that upcoming week.We waited and waited. Finally I called to find out what was going on. I was put on hold for at least 30 to 40 minutes. When the POD representative took me off hold she kept beating around the fact they had no idea where are specific POD was located. They did find it and they did deliver it the following day. However, our friends went home the day our POD was supposed to have been delivered. They graciously came up because they knew I just had my procedure and was not supposed to lift anything over 50 pounds.Needless to say, I had to unload the thing myself because my wife had to keep her eyes on our 4 young children, they also pushed our pick up day an extra day which I was not asked and therefore my wife and my car had to be on the street when I flew out.The last straw to break my back is that I get a sad to say apology and asking for receipts of any movers.NO! I didn't hire any movers, or have to rent a hotel. I had to unload the large POD MYSELF!!! because people can't do what I believe is a simple thing of picking up the phone and making a phone call immediately when the schedule has to change. Then to really show you are sorry compensate for your lack of professionalism.Lastly don't email me stating we haven't heard from you when I plainly stated in my response to call me so you can talk to me directly and take the dissatisfaction verbiage from my very lips. Instead now I am taking way more time then I should need to and express that you started strong, ended poorly.

The actual Pod itself was much needed and helpful during our renovation. Kept our belongings dry and safe. The delivery driver was phenomenal. Trying to get in touch with anyone at Pods is ridiculous! The only way to order/get a quote is on line yet their system to do so is faulty so when you finally (after 20 minutes) get through all the proms to speak with a real live person your completely frustrated. For pick up it was even worse!

Do NOT everrrrrrr use PODS. They are a scam and I will fight tooth and nail for a refund. Everything went wrong from the very beginning til the very end of being OVERCHARGED!!!The promotion that they claim that "expires" is still going on now (1st lie told) but not a biggie. The rep asked me how much contents were in my home and we went over it in great detail (striking up a great conversation about how many pairs of shoes that I own) only to be quoted for their SMALLEST PODS. I gave the exact drop off and pick dates on this same call.I called to correct the issue only to find out the quote would go from $1100 to $1500 for the PODS that would hold my contents.Because of the mix up they offered me $1300 and I went with that. When the PODS actually arrived, it was still too small. I called AGAIN and spoke with the most intelligent agent that disclosed my home size of 1310sq feet is too large for any of the PODS and that a home size if 1000 sq feet would truly fit the PODS. Yet NO ONE that I spoke to everrrrrrrr mentioned this to me. At this point, I'm running outta time with my move. My drop off date was July 26th and mymovers were scheduled to be there July 27th and I needed to be moved out by July 31st so time was of the essence.PODS now screws up my drop off date which was scheduled for Aug 17th...instead they tell me the earliest they can deliver is on the 21st. My work equipment was being stored in the PODS so I missed 4 days of work. When they delivered it on the 21st the door was jammed from my items shifting while in transit and was told that the soonest that someone could come out to help with the door would be the 24th so I'm out of work AGAIN!!!! Only to wake up today and be charged an additional $338!!!I failed to mention that no matter what time you call, no one will answer the phone and you will either sit on hold for forever OR put your number in rotation to be called back and that's usually hours later.Any where that I can post this review, I will!!

Update: reached out to the email in the response below, heard nothing back.Confirmed online and on the phone twice but POD was not moved. Never gave me any kind of refund. Terrible customer service and very difficult to actually speak with someone. Don't waste your time or money. They charge you to drop off, move, and pick up. Use a different company.

PODS moving and storage shows nothing but professionalism. I had an incredible experience using this company. I would use them again and again.

overall i was happy. i would have preferred a phone call the day prior as to when my POD was being delivered or picked up. not the day of and 20 minutes prior in case i needed to be there. The items had shifted and this was not supposed to be a tilted move, the container was to be level at all times. They would not place the container in my yard in front of my shed i was moving items out of. they placed it in my front yard on the other side of the house which made it difficult and much harder to move items from one to the other.

Pids made our move hassle free. We loaded the Pod and stored it with them. They then delivered it to our new house. We didn't meet the driver at the new house, they put the Pod exactly where we asked them to.

Setting up for pods was easy. However, anything after that is a nightmare. My husband & I have calling almost everyday to get a reach of customer service for delivery. Each time we do, the waiting time is 1-2hours long. So we usually skip it and give them a call back number. However, no one does ever get back with us. Tried online chat and there is no representative too. It has been over 24weeks and we only have one pod and still waiting for the other. Customer service keep saying they have no driver even when you give them 2 weeks advance. SMH Totally, not worth it. Unless you have the time to wait.

Setting up the POD delivery schedule, cost, etc was easy. Anything after that went sideways. Not pick-up on time. No contact. Impossible to get them on phone. No resolution.

This service was supposed to make things easy, and that wasn't delivered. Didn't ship my container for 2 weeks. When I called asking where it was they never delivered it, and forgot too. Then once it was, I couldn't access it in the storage unit without giving them a specific schedule. They refunded me a small portion. The only thing I liked about the service was returning it!

Moving from Michigan to South Carolina was a big move, but PODS was great. There were some bumps in the road with our POD getting delivered one day later than we were told because of a truck issue, but after that it was smooth sailing. If you use a POD watch their packing videos and resources they have on their website/youtube. Overall, we were glad we chose to move with PODS.

If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Pods has consistently underwhelmed with its complete and utter lack of customer service. Every time I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. Pods was a great idea back in 2003. Today, there are so many other options available that if you decide to try to hit the "Easy" button like I did and go with Pods, you will regret it horribly. I've spent many hours on hold, trying to get orders adjusted. I'm not joking about many hours. Then I get someone in India who doesn't understand what I'm doing, goes off on their own and messes up the order, then disconnects me, and then I'm back on hold. Drivers show absolutely zero interest in answering delivery location needs. Facilities have no desire to satisfy customers and force you to argue with them for an afternoon in order to simply get the pod positioned correctly. Customer service isn't, but we've already covered that. Pods have outrageous pricing for requiring you to do all the work. Save yourself the headache. Go elsewhere.
