I've been banking with SFCU for many years. Most recently I worked with Porshea on a car loan. Per my request we communicated by email. She made the process very smooth and kept me informed the whole way through. It was a pleasure meeting her when we went in to complete the paperwork she was very friendly and great energy.

For the most part it is a great Bank and I like the fact that it offer a lot of things like life insurance and pet insurance,however I wish that it gave you more time to cover a negative in your account versus automatically charging you a $32 fee. We are in tough times right now in this world and things are getting very expensive so we need to try to save as much money as we possibly can versus put it in on late fees.

I went 10922 South Tryon St, Charlotte, NC location to open a checking account. The employees looked at me like I was dirt. It was about 10:50am. I was the only customer. There was two tellers and they told me to come back at 1:00pm because one of them was about to go to lunch. THAT TO ME NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE! RUDE!

Ok but I just don’t like the fact that I don’t have 24 after hour service like other banks. It sucks because my my online banking is always going out and the banks are too far for me to get to.

The WORST credit union. They've lost two of my monthly payments, and no one will lift a finger to help figure out what happened to them. Yet I'm getting calls to say that my account is delinquent. Total incompetence. And forget trying to contact anyone by phone, you're not allowed to speak to a human.

Have you ever tried to call these folks? Their phone situation is ridiculous. If you can't get lucky and actually get the persons number you want to reach then forget it. The only way you can get the number is go to the branch in person. If you do go to the branch they will tell you that you need an appointment and they are booked. So how do you make an appointment if you can't speak to them or some how reach them. They are worse than Spectrum and that is hard to do but they have managed. Those great rates come with poor phone service. They must shave a point off the rate because they don't have a phone operator. If after an hour of holding you need your account number or you must call back so make sure you just happen to have that number handy. That goes for branch visits unless you want to give your social to everyone in the understaff branch. If you get to talk to the same staff member twice you are lucky but they are all very nice. Good luck with that low rate. It's low for a reason.

The employees are not knowledgeable about anything they offer. They are lazy. I had to ask several times about a loan the kept trying to encourage me to go online. The entire time I was in the lobby talking to the uninterested and unknowing staff. The Manager never came out of his office. I asked to speak with him he wrote my name on a sticky and said next week he would have Mark I believe his name was call me needless to say. I never heard from anyone.. I started my account at the University branch. This one is closer but pathetic.

Nothing but issues from day one. I will not be banking with them again. Most recently called them about a loan on Thursday. Never responded to my calls or emails. Will be pulling all my accounts from this bank including my mortgage. I have made many attempts to work with them. But seems to me that they are understaffed and very lazy. Once was at the Salisbury NC location and couple in front of me was told it would be 3 hours before someone would be available to help them. When they inquired as to why this was the case. The door greeter stated the employees were all out to lunch. Just for a simple transaction, I had to wait 30 mins in line. I can only speak for the Salisbury location as well as the home office. The staff seems to be lazy and very ignorant when dealing with customers. And I am being polite. I could go on for hours on the negative issues I have had with this bank in just several months. Bank some place else.

I like them but very difficult to bank with them. Limited locations are the main issue. Expand and grow or limit availability and fail.

I really enjoy doing business with this bank. They treat me like family and help me with questions that I have and give great suggestions when it comes to my financial issues and financial needs!! Excellent job!!
