I've taken my dogs to SPAH for over 25 years (when it was still Hagaman!) and have always had a great experience. Everyone we've worked with over the years has been kind and knowledgeable. Drs. Wayne Mercer and Long have always been wonderful and called with updates as needed for all of my dogs.Yesterday, I received excellent care from Dr Sophie Mercer & Remi. They spent so much time with me to explain what to pay attention to for my senior dog with cancer. I let both dogs' nails get too long so Remi literally got down on the floor and filed their nails with a dremel! FIVE STAR SERVICE!

Dr. Long and the staff here are truly incredible. They were there by our sides, and our sweet boy Leo's side, for his last weeks on earth. He began to have sudden onset cluster seizures, and immediately upon calling them they offered to see him.During the scariest time of our lives, they provided truly exceptional medical care with the utmost compassion and kindness. They were able to buy us a few more quality weeks with our boy (in time for him to see us get married) which we will be forever grateful for. We cannot recommend the team here enough!!

Love this practice. Dr Mercer and his children are some of the loveliest people I have ever met. Many of the staff members have been there for decades, that says a lot.

I took both of my cats here after moving to CLT and loved the facility and staff immediately. They’ll do anything they can to make sure your pet gets cared for, as if they were their pet as well. I never felt rushed and whatever I needed to do next, was always thoroughly explained. My cats lived until almost 22 and 18. When it was time to make a final decision, they let me go at my own pace and gave me comfort after, as well. They went the extra mile and mailed me a handwritten card, that meant the world to me! Plus, how often does that even happen anymore?! Very thoughtful. I’m adopting 2 new kitties and will be taking them here as well.For the staff: Thank you for being THE BEST!!!

Was in and out in 5 minutes. Was very gentle with my cat and you could tell the doctor here handled a lot of them.

I felt safe taking my fur babies here during the time we lived in South Park. The staff was friendly and did very well with communication. I moved and unfortunately had to switch vets but I would have definitely stayed if it wasn’t so far now. I would highly recommend!

Dr. Wayne Mercer and the front staff are all friendly and professional! I have been taking my beagles here since 1998 when they had a small practice. Yes I have had times when I felt unheard and uncomfortable. It is hard to be 100 percent 100 percent of the time. It is critical to me that I am included in the decision process and the treatment plan for my pets. I am satisfied with their care and wouldn't hestitate to reference them.

We trusted the folks at Hagaman's/SP Animal for years and years with our pets. In 2011 we brought our 13 year old dog to them with a hard cell mass on her side. The immediate recommendation was biopsy! WHY? We would have never treated any dog much less a 13 year old lab for cancer regardless of any biopsy results. WHY didn't our trusted vet explain to us the downside to treating a dog especially of this age for cancer....ummmm $$$$$$$. After her biopsy- a quite expensive biopsy I might add- she died within five days of kidney failure. Heres the real insult- as we were leaving the office the day she died and desperately trying to take her to a specialist in hopes of a miracle- they knew she was dying and what do you think they offered her on the way out??? X-rays!!! Would you like some X-rays on your way to her death?? Again one motive $$$$$. X-Rays would show nothing- we all know that with internal issues. It is pathetic to believe that Veterinarians are truly interest in our beloved pets more than $$$$. We trusted you for years and you killed our dog for money. I want to thank you for that. Our entire family wants to thank you for that. Looking back. We gave you thousands of dollars over the years. Thank you.

Always a great experience here! The staff members are all so friendly and knowledgeable, and I’ve found that the prices are reasonable considering the high quality of service and care. Between my dog and three cats, I’ve had the pleasure to work with pretty much every doctor at SouthPark, so I can vouch that all of them are exceptional and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to SouthPark Animal Hospital for over 5 years and we could not be happier with the care and customer service. The staff’s phone etiquette and communication is unlike any other establishment I’ve encountered in recent years, they are always running on time with our scheduled appointments and I love that they come out to my car to get my dog and take him in for his visit and I can wait in the comfort of my car. Everyone is so friendly and you can tell they all care about the animals. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone!

Tried to come in and simply purchase hypoallergenic shampoo for my dogs and was rejected due to not being "a current client", ummm...its shampoo. Furthermore, when we asked for reasoning or justification from a Veterinarian, as its not a prescription or medicated product, we were told "We aren't accepting new patients so the Vet will be unable to help you". Great! We are new to the area and you've made our decision easy! Cheers

I was at Long's animal hospital and then switched to South Park due to proximity to my home. I would say the level of care, diagnostic is not the same las Longs. The cost is much higher for all of the same services. So happy to be back at Longs with our new puppy. Highly recommend Longs.

UPDATE: I have 4 dogs. 3 of which were still under the care of this facility. I moved my pregnant dog to Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital because they actually care about animals there. This vet inactivated my other 3 dogs without telling me in order to get back at me for leaving a negative review. Now my dogs are without heartworm medication and I have been calling them for weeks to try and get it approved via chewy.com. Every time I called they kept telling me to have chewy resend the request and they would approve it. Today I was informed of them inactivating my dogs and that they will not approve it. Now my animals are at RISK for heartworm. LET ME REPEAT. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS HERE. They are petty. STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS. All they care about is money and they are vindictive. Animal care is the last thing on their minds here.
