Good place to go

I signed up for their account with a Delta SkyMiles debit card, and funded it with money from my aunt's estate. They decided that it was fraud, and said that I would have to go to a branch to get it resolved. I don't live near a branch!! Then I asked for my deposit back, and they said that I would have to visit a branch to get it back. We're talking $11000 here, and I'd have to take a trip to get it back. If you don't live near a branch, AVOID!!!

Worst banking experience of my life. It's like trying to bank on a computer with a bank that runs like it's 2003. I deposited $10,000 in insurance money into my account. I waited a week for it to deposit and I never received a debit card so I went to the branch to get an instant debit card and they said they can't give me one, and oh also your actual debit card was never sent. So I proceeded to wait another week for the debit card to arrive and it never did. I'd contacted them a week later and they sent me a message saying that it would not arrive until the following week. I can transfer out $500 at a time into my Venmo account but I've already transferred $500 this week. All other bank transfer transactions take three to seven business days. I have over 9,000 in this bank and they have zero away for me to get it out. They won't give me a virtual card to access it, I can't use an ATM, I have no checks. And let's talk about the checks. I literally went into order checks and they have the same checks from my first bank account in 1999. Same ordering systems same designs. It's literally like a time warp. As soon as my debit card arrives next week, if it ever does I am going to be removing all of my money and closing this account. This is the worst banking experience ever.

I've been in the drive thru a few times, and they always help me politely in a timely manner.

If I could give 0, I would. Truist started charging my FREE checking account I had for years thru Suntrust $20 per month. They started taking it without notification in April 2022 and I didn't notice until Sept. 2022. $100 was stolen by Truist from my account before I realized because this is an auxiliary account I have. When I called them, they told me they changed my account in the merger. I told them they can't just do that without notifying people. The lady on the phone told me policy was to only allow $75 per customer courtesy fee removal. I told her I'd like to speak with the manager and she put me on hold and dropped my call after waiting in queue for 10 min. I called back 3 more times on different days before I received my remaining $25 that was taken by Truist. As soon as it was put back, I drove directly to the nearest branch and closed my account. When I went to the branch on Eastway Drive, there was a sign on the door that the lobby was closed for lunch and to use the drive thru. There were people standing amongst cars waiting for a teller. It was ridiculous. A man was raising his voice to the teller saying something in Spanish. Obviously something was wrong with his account also. I had been reading on Facebook several people in Charlotte were complaining about fraudulent activity they claimed was coming from INSIDE the bank with their personal information being taken. So, I was immediately regretting not paying any attention to them when I saw that because if I had closed my account then, I would not have been in this predicament.I went back thru my old statements to see if I had missed a notification. The ONLY thing I found was a bold statement at the top that said your account has changed and then provided a link. Well no wonder ! Who clicks on links ? If you have an account here, I suggest you leave quickly while you still can.

I hate Truist so much. I have accounts at multiple banks, and most of them have pretty decent customer service. In contrast, Suntrust was always difficult to deal with, but Truist is much worse. After the merger with BB&T, they randomly decided to start charging me $25 a month for my checking account, DESPITE the fact that I wasn't being charged a fee before, have a high balance, direct deposit from two sources, and use the account to pay the mortgage (which is actually a requirement). I already drove to a branch once and they said they would get it fixed, but a month has gone by and they have not. There is no way to contact them online, forcing me to drive to a branch, again, to meet with a person who can help fix this. I cannot wait to refinance my mortgage and never have to deal with them again.

This location needs new management, the employees at this branch are tarnishing the company brand. Less then a month I’ve had two encounters where I deposited and withdrew money from my account. I was racially profiled on both encounters with banker Kyle. I have made multiple complaints, there has not been any change in his actions or new training reinforced. DO NOT BANK HERE

Kyle, the banker at this location is unprofessional and has no respect for suntrust clients. If you are African American do not visit this branch or you will be racially profiled. I received terrible service and was forced to wait for my account to be verified by 3 suntrust workers before I was able to withdraw the amount requested out of my account. Kyle then told me he can not answer any of questions because he’s not allowed to release any information to me about my account.

I've always had really good experiences at this branch ever since I opened my account there almost ten years ago. Everyone has always been friendly and easy to work with; I didn't realize how big the difference was until I went to a different branch when I was out of the area. I've always felt really valued here and especially appreciate how patient everyone here has always been, especially with explaining things or walking me through a process. Finances and banking are super stressful for me, so it means a lot that I have a welcoming place to contact or get help if I need it! Alphonzo Lewis is who I work with usually at this branch now and he's been great.
