Keith and his team were great. There were two gals running the front desk and they were friendly. The dudes outside were busy and always asked if we needed help. After driving 2400 miles it was great to run into this kind of service. Thanks again team. Good luck with the rest of the travelers.

We dropped off a 15' U-Haul truck rental at this location as it was the closest to our destination. When we pulled up, the U-Haul representative was checking another truck and insisted that we didn't have to stay for our truck to be examined, that we could just leave and they'll take care of the return/check-in. Then, when we got home, we were sent an email invoice charging us for 5 gallons of gas even though we filled up to the tank to the level of the fuel gauge when we picked up the truck (it was 242 mi to E when we got the truck and we returned it at 240 mi to E). This may have been an honest error because there may very well be differences in perception when looking at the fuel gauge - without an exact measure, the difference between half a tank and 5/8 of a tank could easily be mistaken, which is why we chose to focus on the "miles to empty" reading. However, given the way the employee did not examine the truck in front of us and the fact that we received no response when we emailed the GM about the invoice, I would guess that this is not an error but rather a tactic to squeeze every penny out of customers (especially considering we were outrageously charged $25 for 5 gallons when the gas price at every single gas station within a mile radius of this location was under $3/gallon for unleaded). In summary, if you're returning a rental here, highly recommend that you stay for the return examination/check-in no matter what the employee says. And make sure to take plenty of photos to evidence the fuel gauge reading before returning the truck even though no one will give you a moment's time once you leave the lot. Terrible customer service if issues arise and unresponsive!

I began my career as a fine artist in Charlotte, North Carolina on a shoestring budget roughly 7 years ago. As my work began to grow in notoriety, it likewise grew in size and scale. No longer able to transport materials and art in my personal vehicle, I turned to Keith Washington and the team at U-Haul 1508 South Blvd. Cargo vans were my vehicle of choice, because of the size, maneuverability, and access from all sides. They always had plenty in their fleet. With the help of team members, I learn to utilize their in-store materials to keep my art safe and to make a great presentation. The stretchable shrink wrap was perfect for protecting large pieces of art and their frames. When I showed up in prestigious venues, the way my work was wrapped and protected, spoke volumes about the value to potential buyers. The staff there is very friendly, and at Keith's leadership, this location became my go to whenever I needed to transport, art, or anything else. I live in Connecticut now with my family, but I still have exhibitions in the Charlotte area and I would not use in the other service then this particular U-Haul. Best U-Haul experience I ever had. The woman I spoke to at the front desk was very polite and friendly which is very different than my past U-Haul experiences. The van I rented was super clean and had great upgrades. 10/10 experience.

Had a hitch installed at this location and it was installed improperly. The nut that holds the ball of the hitch on was loose and caused major shaking on the highway. Had the safety pin broken, we would have lost our trailer on the highway, which would have destroyed our belongings and could have easily killed someone. This is not ok. I attach photos showing the plastic piece that is supposed to be crushed by proper force, still in tact and the nut that was completely loose.

Had a great experience renting a trailer at this Uhaul location. Very friendly service and great instructions during the pickup. I used it for almost 300 miles without any issues.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM SUPERVISORS.ON Thursday, July 27, 2023, I came to this location to rent a moving my truck. Upon entry, no one greeted me, although there were 2 employees sitting there talking to one another.As I walked to the desk to complete my rental, the young Black Female in the light green shirt, immediately walked away.The man she was speaking with finally acknowledged me by saying, “I don’t know why she left! I don’t know how to work the computer.”Mr. David Simmons recognized the situation, and immediately came to assist me, and I am grateful for him.However, as he was assisting me, I made it known that I would like to report the young Black female in the light green shirt.She came back to the desk, asking why I wanted to report her.I informed her that she left the desk as the customer was approaching, and that left no capable agent at the desk to tend to customers.I asked for her name, since she was not wearing a name tag, nor anything to identify who she was. To that she replied,“I’m not giving you my name!”I let her know that I would be reporting her to Mr. Keith and corporate office; she repiied, “go right ahead.”Absolutely horrible!Absolutely shocking!Absolutely unacceptable!Needless to say, after decades of loyalty to U-Haul, I will now patronize with the Penske brand.PS. Natasha Davis is AWESOME as well!The day prior to the truck incident, I came in to purchase boxes.Gabrielle Green argued with a customer on the phone about that customer returning equipment to the wrong location, as I waited about 7-8 minutes with no acknowledgment WHATSOEVER; not even a “I’ll be with you in a moment sir.”Natasha saw the situation, and took the lead.She apologized for the wait, and then took the initiative to try to ring me out, even though she had never rang boxes before.That’s how you create loyal customers.Great job, Natasha and David

I had a trailer hitch installed at the South Blvd location. I found the entire group of people, including the installer, very courteous and helpful. There seemed to be real camaraderie among the coworkers. I love my new trailer hitch too.

The men that are supposed to check in the trucks after returning move extremely slow!!! 25 mins and still no update on mileage and gas of vehicle. The employees are extremely rude and laugh at you while you wait. I will never rent another uhual from this location again they do not care about your time or your money!

A little slow at the start, they didn't have enough people working when they opened and a previous renter had blocked in some of the other vehicles on the lot, causing some crisis.But I was able to take the truck I had reserved at 9:00, leaving the lot at 9:25. Everything worked just fine and I had no issues with it.Returning was easy and no problems.

I was refused to get a pickup truck because I did not have a cell phone on me despite the fact that I came on time for my pick-up appt during regular office hours and had my driver's license with me. I had done all required checking-in steps in advance from home and did not expect any hassles. However, when I walked in I was told by a store clerk that she needs to verify my cell phone and there is no way to proceed without cell phone.I rented number of U-haul vehicles over my life and it never had been a mandatory requirement when I did it in store in front of live person during regular work hours.Nice thing was that the store manager was not even willing to show up and used that pure girl as messenger for bad news. That young girl was polite. I cannot blame her for the ridiculous rule that U-Haul as a company or that specific store manager put in place. That is why, I gave 2-star rating instead of 0 or negative value.
