This store is ok. The prices are pretty good and the produce is excellent. It is obvious that the employees are not happy. The cashiers grunt at you when you check out. I had the same experience as another customer when I was told to bag my groceries myself, when I brought my own bags. Happy staff=happy customers!

We recently moved to the area, and this Food Lion has become our favorite. The produce is extensive and well managed. The store is clean and the aisles are well designed. Items are easy to find and the employees are quick to offer assistance if needed. It matches its competitors in freshness and selections, while edging them out in price. My spouse is disabled and they can shop independently at this Food Lion as they offer quick and friendly assistance. It makes a big difference to us, and others I would imagine.

Staff is rude and unwilling to help. As I asked for help the you lady rolled her eyes. Understanding how overworked and under appreciated a lot of workers are, I apologized and thanked her for her help. She mumbled something under her breath as she walked off. I was really surprised.

We came here for the first time today as we are moving to the neighborhood and wanted to see the closest grocery store was like. I was surprised at how new the store was. The only time I have ever been to a Food Lion I was not that impressed, but this definitely made up for it. When we walked in we were looking for a customer service counter so we could pick up a loyalty card. We asked a store clerk and she pointed us to the kiosk where you sign up for the card. It was really easy to use and it prints out a temporary card and coupons when you are finished. I really liked this! I was happy to see that they had self-check out. This is super convenient. We bought a few items here and I was surprised that the prices were a little high. In my opinion. Produce was super high here. 1 carton of strawberries for $5.79... woah! And not even the organic ones! As it was a new store for us, we didn't know where things were located so we had to ask some of the store workers a few times where items were located. They were very nice and helpful. There is a small parking lot shared by some of the local businesses, we didn't have trouble finding a spot, but could see it being an issue if all the shops were open and it was a busy day. All in all, if I were in a pinch I'd go here and feel safe, however I'll probably stick with my preferred grocery store.

This is an updated Food Lion store. The produce area stands out as it is in a separate room and very clean, organized, and seemingly fresh. I picked up a few bagged salads here on Saturday night and I was impressed with the selection available. Typically bagged salads may have s good bit of brown lettuce, but that was not the case here. I've awarded 3 stars, as when I went in they had just 1 checkout aisle open and MANY customers were in line. This is frustrating when you're running in for just a few things and then find yourself behind a line of multiple carts filled to the brim. The other reason for the 3 stars is the parking lot. It seems to always be FULL even when the store isn't busy! The parking lot is small and is shared with multiple restaurants, so I find I often have to search for a parking spot and then still end up a long way from the entrance and cart return.

My husband and I love this grocery store. We live in the Freedom Park neighborhood and at last count have about 12 grocery stores within a 4 mile radius. We have found that we can zip in and out of the Food Dog (as we call it) in a fraction of the time it takes for the Teeter or other options. Clean and neat. Selection may not be comparable to Teeter, but we have had great friendly service, and do most of our everyday shopping here. See lots of neighbors here. Give it a try!

I'm a member of Harris Teeter management, that being said I've been programmed to look down upon all other Charlotte based grocery stores. However with a few different Food Lion locations, I can make an exception. This location while not the best spot, is pretty alright in quality. The employees first of all are pretty miserable, Having walked by the Store Manager and assistant on several occasions without my existence being acknowledged, that is the kind of behavior that would get me fired. They seem too "busy" doing a lot of nothing to say a simple hello, or good afternoon, that right off the bat is very off putting, and by far the biggest difference from a far from Teeter and Food Lion. At least I need to pretend I care, Food lion employees obviously do not get that training. Needless to say i'm here often, its close to home. Its easy for simple things. I avoid their meat, but anything canned and frozen is obviously safe. Prices are way better than Teeter, but then again, you pay for what you get. A few nice front end employees, but thats only about 50% that have a personality. I keep shopping here, and will continue to do so, but with a very limited list, and only when I have patience for being ignored.

Stopped in early for a quick shop and found this to be a super nice supermarket. The aisles were clean, the lights were bright and the shelves were well stocked. I managed to find the few bits I needed easily as the overhead signage was easy to read and accurate. I didn't interact with too many staff, but the ones I did were friendly and offered to help. I skipped produce and meats today, sticking with grocery items.

For one reason or another, we all build loyalty to certain brands and living all over Charlotte for 12 years, mostly at Lake Norman and now in South End for 2 years, I have found I always lean towards Food Lion for most of my weekly groceries. This particular one in Dilworth has been one of the cleanest with super friendly employees. Over the years, their produce has became better with store remodels focusing on putting most of their produce in climate controlled rooms. They also SLIGHTLY increased their organic product selection. Food Lion is mainly for my non-perishable stuff as I usually head to the big Farmer's Market Saturday morning for a good bit of my veggies, microgreens and kale. They have also greatly increased their local NC craft beer selection though most of it will be non-refrigerated. Parking here can get just a little tough after work since you will also get people using the other shops (and the Comet) around 5pm and its looks like a new building with 1/2 dozen new shops will be opening sometime in 2017. Last note, I have found some Food Lions have a really big selection of "clearance meats" consistently (yellow sticker discounts). This Dilworth location seems to usually have some stickered meat every day (which is nice if you can throw something on the grill that night).

The remodel made a world of difference as the layout looks better and the remodel must have spurred on some new hires.

This is a very clean and well run Food Lion. My past experiences with other Food Lions have not been so good. When shopping in Dilworth, this Food Lion provides a far superior experience over the disorganized and overpriced Harris Teeter on East Boulevard. Also, this Food Lion takes Apple Pay, which makes getting in an out at the self serve lanes even faster. That's the best part about this Food Lion, you can get your items quickly and can get out quickly. Their deli meat truly sucks though; I wouldn't even give it to my cat (actually I bought it for my cat, but threw it in the trash). I've never seen a turkey slice turn to mush in your hands before, but their nasty turkey did. They used to have good Boar's Head meat, but replaced it with their own awful Food Lion meat.

I used to work for Food Lion corporate, years ago. So I know the company's expectations of customer service. And no. This is not it. I was there tonight, and was rung up by a cashier named Brittany. She ignored my reusable bags and bagged in plastic anyway. When I said something, she dumped my groceries back on the counter and told me I could bag them myself. Unacceptable. She screwed it up. It is not my job to redo it for her. And then when I had her get a manager, she argued about my comments right in front of me. So unprofessional.

I would love for someone other than Food Lion to come in. This store is so basic, and could be so much more. Please step up your game. We need a good store in that area. Even a Harris Teeter would be better. In any event, if there is going to be a grocery there, please get some variety and better produce.
