Great studio but it won't be the same on Saturday and Sunday mornings without Buffy teaching. I learned a lot from her and the energy is very high in those classes. I am very happy with the Y2 flow during the week generally. Buffy's classes on the weekend were a nice change of pace, while still maintaining the integrity of the Y2 flow. Otherwise, a five star place for sure.

There is only one thing I don't like about this place but otherwise it is truly great, I genuinely enjoy the sense of community and passion for yoga which works in tandem to create an really enjoyable atmosphere. I thought I'd miss yoga one being in this studio but I think Y2 has done an excellent job of stepping in and taking over. The one criticism I have is actually for the owner, Tanner, who also instructs a couple classes a week (unfortunately). His quality of instruction is below the rest of the staff he has working there and it's pretty obvious. His classes don't have as much flow to them as he'll play some pretty horrendous music (particularly for yoga) that always has significantly more energy and pace than the flow itself (but more on that in a minute). One of my bigger issues is that he always makes jokes throughout class which break up your ability to concentrate, what's worse is that those jokes are always directed at other people who are not him and they will be blanket statements like, just taking for example this morning's "people who like country music and grapefruits are weird" (this was the premise but he took his time to really jab at people who might fall into those groups in a frankly uncomfortable and strange way - like dude I'm here for yoga?). Point is - the jokes aren't funny, they are always targetting other people besides himself, he laughs at them while no one else does, and it just serves to create a negative atmosphere and all around bad vibe. As far as assists go - he DOES NOT ask you to let him know if you don't want them at the beginning - like every yoga instructor ever does - what's even worse is he's bad at them - he "assisted" me on our FIRST major hamstring stretch of the class by pushing my leg straight up in the air (quickly) - I 100% have a pulled hamstring now that may sideline me for however long and I have to move this weekend. If he continues to have such disregard when assisting - he will continue to hurt people and might even catch a lawsuit one day. As far as his "flow" goes - he plays terrible music that never remotely matches the energy of the flow - he will then pause that music completely for multiple trips to the floor throughout the class - bringing the pace to a near standstill in every way - he will then crank that terrible music all the way back up and jump headlong back into the flow. So by the end of it you feel pretty much anything but at peace. I tried to provide him some feedback through the app last week but obviously he doesn't care or didn't read, which is why I've come here to relay my concerns - if you note the rest of my reviews, I'm not the kind of person to rush to give someone a bad review without first giving them a second chance + trying another method to provide feedback. Did I mention he showed up to his OWN CLASS five minutes late? Yeah. This guy is an absolute piece of work. The studio is great - but stay FAR AWAY from classes taught by Mr. Tanner Bazemore.

Y2 Yoga is the BEST hot yoga studio in Charlotte! It's definitely challenging. The first few times I went I had to take many breaks but the more you go the better you get! There's plenty room for beginners and advanced yogis. Every instructor is great! Coming from someone who moves around a lot, who's done yoga all over the world, trust me when I say you're going to want to try it out! The only complaint I have is that they should offer the first class free (hint) ;) just because I want to bring all my friends but they're not always willing to pay the drop in fee. I know if the studio offered a free first time, so many people would come! Not that they need it lol.

Best Hot Yoga place around! Just be prepared that this can be very challenging to anyone new to yoga as the poses are not always explained, but the coaches are very helpful. Classes can get very full, but all the attendees have been very nice and welcoming so far.

Y2 is such an incredible workout — but it is definitely very challenging. Very hot and very fast. Instructors are always really helpful and there seems to always be a mix of expertise in the room from beginners to very advanced. Bring lots of water!

Y2 is my favorite yoga studio in charlotte. Please note you're coming to hot yoga so it's a pretty intense yet relieving workout. Single and double shot classes tend to be a bit faster pace so if it's your first time I recommend the Long Slow Deep (LSD) class to start things off.

I am delighted that Y2 opened in this beautiful location. After years of being a member, I feel confident in saying the teachers are top notch, the facilities are clean and well-stocked, and the staff are thoughtful and helpful. As a person who works with individuals who have serious autoimmune and terminal illnesses, I'm so thankful that Y2 is carefully following CDC guidelines regarding masks and vaccines. Y2 is holistic and unique, and true to the spirit of yoga, they recognize the importance of caring for the family and community and encourage each of us to see our part in collective compassion.Thank you Y2 for preserving the wellness of all of us by balancing science and the soul.

I have been to quite a few yoga studios in and around the Charlotte area. I am a regular at Carolina yoga in Fort Mill and I know that some of the teachers also teach at Y2. I bought a new student special to try them out because it's so close to my house. The studio is lovely and looks very nice- although I really don't like the wood floors as they are painful underneath my mat (I use a non slip Lulu Lemon padded style.) I have to say, I expected a much better experience than I received. The first class I took the front desk person had no interest in explaining where anything was and I actually had to ask her to please look up and show me where to go to get to my class. I am familiar with tablet check in and had already done that so I guess she didn't care to welcome me. I took three different classes and all three had different instructors who were perfectly fine but they didn't tell you in the beginning of class what props you needed (if any) or where they were kept or to be put away. The last class I took, I was horrified when the teacher announced that I was a new student over the microphone. She wasn't trying to be offensive but most people do not like to be put in that situation. They do not offer an ice machine or water station, as far as I know, and I was never even shown around to know where the bathrooms are. Their website is absolutely bonkers. You cannot navigate it easily and I couldn't even figure out how to work the schedule while I had my membership. I kept having to type into Google "Y2 Dilworth Schedule." One class description didn't match the class I ended up taking at all and I ended up being very frustrated by that because I wasn't dressed properly. They offer some "Live in studio" classes a day but a lot of them seemed to be online only. That's another thing, the classes I took were recorded live for online students. It's too bad because the location is close to me and I considered giving it another shot when I saw that they had a challenge coming up, but unlike most studios, their challenges cost more money on top of your membership! Definitely didn't get the welcoming, fun vibes that I get from other studios around town.

I am disheartened that a yoga studio would require unvaccinated individuals to wear masks. People who value yoga are also those who value a holistic and natural approach to life. Discriminating against them is wrong. I love yoga but I am also a breathwork facilitator and I know the importance of breath and oxygen. I have epileptic seizures that happen more frequently when I wear masks and don’t get to breathe properly. I refuse to get an experimental injection with no long term safety data, especially after all of the terrible experiences I’ve had with pharmaceuticals and our medical system. I have long since recovered from covid, I am not sick.. I am one of the healthiest people you will ever meet. Please be more mindful and understanding.
