Great store. A lot of American made items. Great Handmade spoons and charcuterie boards. And a lot of hand-painted items

This little shop was the highlight of our day trip the Cherokee today! Normally we buy a little wedding vase or tchotchke each time we come from another store in town but we explored the "less busy" side of the area and found Village Merchant. Walking in, I spotted the local art by Luzell of area scenes hand painted on saw blades, jugs, rocks, leaves, and even a pair of boots and couldn't get farther into the little store without deciding what to take home! My husband and I probably spent 30 minutes in that corner of the store debating on the piece to purchase.. we ended up taking home a long saw, three smaller circular blades, and I ran back before checking out and grabbed a small glass bottle. The artist's sister (I believe they both own the store?) chatted with us and was super pleasant! We unfortunately did not get her name this time but we are already planning on coming back up to grab a few more pieces for our home!Thank you for the nice chat today and we hope to see you in Blue Ridge, GA, sometime!

Cute shop with gorgeous local crafts. My wife and I fell in love with the paintings by Luzell, purchased four to go by our dining corner! They're absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to come back. We didn't get the name of the sweet lady who was there today, but we definitely will when we come back! She was very fun to talk with!

The staff was very rude. We were trying on stuff to buy and told us we weren't allowed. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I do not recommend going.
