I honestly don’t know why I’m surprised looking at the reviews, considering how many times I’ve had things stolen right out of my packages—or packages marked “delivered” that never actually showed up. I’ve had so many issues that I was forced to file a police report. More than once, I’ve received boxes that were strategically cut open, re-taped, and empty inside. That’s not an accident—that’s theft.
There is absolutely a thief/thieves working in the Clayton Post Office. There’s no other explanation for this level of consistent “missing” and “damaged” mail. And judging from the sheer number of identical complaints in the reviews, I’m clearly not the only one dealing with it.
Every time this happens, I report it. The police department already has a long list of incidents tied to my name, and I suggest every other customer who’s experiencing this do the same. The more people speak up, the harder it becomes to sweep under the rug.

The nicest USPS I’ve been to. Jeff and his coworker were so attentive and quick. Everyone was working efficiently. No complaints.

Once again, a card I mailed was never received. My guess is someone opened, saw there was a gift card in it, & stole it. I’ve received cards that have obviously been tampered with, gift cards removed. Something needs do be done about this! I’ve never had this issue with the Wendell or Wilson’s mills location.

Where do I even begin?
Someone at the Clayton, NC post office located on 604 E Front Street is opening mail and stealing anything of value inside greeting cards. I've had several Mother's Day and Father's Day cards arrive weeks late, each one clearly tampered with, slit open as if someone was deliberately searching for cash or gift cards. To make matters worse, a gift card I sent never reached its destination and I'm sure it was later used by someone else. That crossed the line. I’ve already reported these incidents and I’m not stopping until the person responsible is held accountable, or better yet, prosecuted. Tampering with mail is a federal offense, and I intend to track down where that gift card was used and press charges. I want answers. Has this happened to anyone else? Has it been reported? And what is this post office doing about the thief working within their walls?
I expect immediate action.

They leave notes on your door saying they tried to reach you, but you are home and anxiously waiting for a package and find a note and know they never tried to deliver it. It takes longer to write the note saying they attempted to deliver than it would to simply ring the bell. Such a good waste of our tax dollars on these federal workers.

When I got at Clayton USPS there was only one person ahead of me. I was able to send my package quickly
and received the tracking number on my receipt.

I ordered high heels which did not come in a box, just a plastic mailer and they were shoved into the mailbox. I used all of my body weight to get it out, so it was definitely shoved in there with force. we have big parcel lockers for a reason. whoever delivered this package has no critical thinking skills.

I can not say enough about the young man that took care of me today.he was polite and walked me through the machine. I sent my father 2 big candy bars and his bd card. Clerk #18. His name started with a W. Is an asset to our postal system.

It’s always a nauseating experience to know this post office will be delivering my packages. Something is almost always damaged or leaking or kicked or dropped while being delivered. There seems to be no training involved for the workers because mail is frequently delivered to the wrong address, which is of course is a treat to discover time and time again. They seem to loathe their profession. Maybe I’m being mean, but after a while, this runaround type of service reeks.

The 1 star reviews are obviously by ppl who don't support ppl who don't look like them. As if their look is correct or desirable in any way. Just read the 1 stars. One came right out and said USPS is a DEI casualty; what a shame. They mad they see beautiful brown faces working at the paot office. Keep doing great work USPS. I appreciate your efforts.

What happened to the USPS? Is this another DEI casualty? Every time I check a tracking number now, I know it's going to be off by at least 2 days so that has become as worthless as them.
