I had a great experience with Fifth Third, I walked right in on a Saturday (Veterans day even!) and the banker there signed me up for a checking and savings account with no appointment. She was experienced, knowledgable and super personable. They have an acct with no minimum balances, no fees, and options for credit cards.

Working with this bank for a few years everyone is so helpful and nice I have nothing more to say other than what a great bank. However the people make the bank they are just very kind and always helpful.

Got at the doors on Saturday @ 1:01pm. They close @1pm. There were 2 people inside finishing transactions and they would not allow me to cash my check spoke with me through the door as if I wanted to rob the bank. I had my checks and my 5/3 card pressed against the glass so they see that I am a customer. If I were an OLD WHITE LADY they would have let me in seeing that I was BLACK the two Caucasian women that worked inside would not allow me to deposit or cash my checks.. If I could do ZERO Stars I most certainly would and I am a regular customer. I will be changing banks immediately. However the branch by my house has cashed my checks numerous times after 1pm. I’ve had numerous occasions with Racism with 5/3 as well as them holding MY MONEY FOR WEEKS I’ll take my business and my money elsewhere. DO NOT BANK WITH 5/3.They are not Fond of African American customers at all. Especially this branch on 20301 w Catawba Ave

Horrible lies I will never bank with them again I hate this back do not deal with these people here either the not to friendly to blacks ! Sad smh ??♀️ it’s really sad how people is they , they will hold Yur money for weeks and I mean 3 weeks like u can’t pay Yur bills or nothing behind dealing with these people fr I’m so done with these people no other bank have these issues it’s jus was the fee I didt want to pay but I been through this so many times I’m not dealing with fifth third any more time is money ! Why bank with a place and you can’t even get Yur money when you need it !

I went by to close my account and was grilled with questions. I already had my mind made up when I went in so I didn’t appreciate the stress of second guessing.After I left, I remembered that Fifth Third held checks from my design clients for 10 business days which can stretch to almost 3 weeks with holidays and weekends. Time is money and that extra wait made it difficult for me as a self-employed individual. It was also inconsistent: the first time, half of the check amount was available immediately. The second time, the entire check was on hold. This isn’t the case with other banks.

If you don’t want access to your own money and don’t want to be notified if there is a problem then 5/3rd bank is the bank for you. Otherwise, stay away. I would say they have poor customer service but they actually don’t have customer service. Deposits from established and vetted accounts are still held and unavailable for at least 3 businesses days. Bill pay is slower compared to other institutions. And the last straw was when I mobile deposited a check from my own account at another bank which was flagged as counterfeit thereby freezing my account. I only found out that’s what happened because I couldn’t log in (because my account was frozen)… I had to send them a pdf of my last bank statement from my other bank to prove the check was “real”… then I received a letter in the mail just days later that my account was closing due to lack of activity and having been frozen - but hey - they actually did me a favor and saved me the trouble.

Lauren Jordan is the best trader I could ask for! As first time trading, I had a lot of questions, and she was so patient through the whole process. Lauren is professional and still personable, knowledgeable, thoughtful and always pleasure to work with as I have been making profit in some months from her trading. I’d recommend her to anyone!

Worst mortgage experience. "Easy refinance" turned into difficult nightmare. 3 months later and still can't get 1 single person to explain where the closing funds were posted since the mortgage never closed on the date we signed. Kay the Loan Specialist at this branch always has to "call down there" to get answers to questions she should know and the answers never match what we see in our accounts online. Deceptive financial practices that need addressed. Still withdrew payments after what we thought was a closed loan. No statement showing how the funds were affected since it finally closed 28 days late due to employee error. This bank clearly does not know what they are doing. I guarantee you will have problems and discrepancies closing your loan, so if you like knowing where your money goes RUN from this place and don't look back.

I closed my ten year banking relationship with Wells Fargo due to poor customer service. The head teller thought she was the most important person at the branch. I moved my business to Fifth Third bank, couldn’t be happier!

I've been a long time customer of 5/3rd bank with multiple accounts, including my mortgage. I recently applied for a auto loan after paying off my mortgage, and to say the service has been average would be an overstatement. I've been approved for over a week and provided everything they requested almost instantly, and there has been zero followup from the branch. I have a dealership waiting for funding, and I've sent multiple emails, and left a VM for my rep, and still no explanation for the hold up. I'm actually considering moving my business elsewhere. This is very poor customer service for a 20+ year customer.Their response is they're sorry to hear I had a negative experience but I have to call them If I want help. Makes sense, right?! This just confirms my decision to switch banks. Such poor customer service!

Antiquated. Inconvenient.Fifth Third just closed the branch closest to my house, so this was my first visit to this branch in quite some time. After a lengthy wait time for the ONE teller at the desk because she was holding a lengthy personal conversation, I was attended to by another teller who had obviously been interrupted on a smoke break. After a 22 year banking relationship with Fifth Third and First Charter, I was told there would be a 7-10 day hold placed on a check issued by a LARGE insurance company. No explanation. No discussion. No ability to waive the hold. No options offered. No loyalty to a long-term customer.Overall experience with multiple branches has been similar. Especially unfriendly to small business customers. Time to find another bank.

This has been my bank for years. I tried calling today 5 times, only to hear " your call is very important to us, but we're busy taking care of OTHER customers. Try again later" SERIOUSLY!? Not even an option to leave a call back number and get in line? Then my hubby told me when he was looking to change banks he told fifth third "what's important to me is when I call a bank I want to actually speak to a person"- fifth third told him ' oh...YOU will have a special phone number due to your balance' SERIOUSLY?! Needless to say I'll be changing banks ASAP

I have been with this bank Since 2001. With my average balance 5x larger than the minimum required to avoid fees. I consistently had small literally nickle and dime charges to my larger accounts that they could not explain.
