The outdoor pool closes at noon on Memorial Day...?Are you kidding me...?Members wait *8 months* for the outdoor facility to open.During the week days, the outdoor pool schedule will be the same as the indoor...?The membership community wants to know exactly why the pool is **closed from 12-3:30 p.m.** every day...?Conversations with the residents suspect that the Aquatics director has become a bit lethargic in this regard. It must be quite pleasant to be paid a staff salary and enjoy a **3 1/2 hour lunch break.**Is it that much of a *bureaucratic conundrum* to keep the pool opened until 1 p.m.??? .. considering that many working residents would appreciate taking advantage of a lap swim during their lunch hour (noon- 1).Remember.... lockdowns happened 4 years ago; the **lifeguard shortage** story doesn't cut it anymore.

We love going to this particular gym. The people at the reception always welcome you with a smile. This gym is always very organized and clean. My daughters participate in the volleyball program and I can attest that it is an excellent program for young women and girls to develop and learn to work as a team. In the back there is a beautiful park overlooking Lake Norman, there is peace and tranquility throughout the place. I invite you to get to know this gem of a gym.

Every class I take @ the Y makes me feel welcome & motivated. All instructors are inclusive & non-judgmental. You can adapt to whatever your level of physicality is. I love the variety of the classes. There is humor & encouragement. You feel a complete sense of community.

Bad experience while came to visit on 06/26/23 interested in becoming a member. Felt very unwelcome as my 4 year old also. Very unpleasant child drop in lady that made me and my son feel uncomfortable. That is not how you treat possible members! Went to Nothern Regional Recreation Center in Cornelius where i was welcomed and became member.

Awesome Y! They have a lovely outdoor pool with fitness classes or just to relax. This is a beautiful location and easy to find. The front office staff is super helpful. Shout out to Diane for telling me all about the Y here. Being able to visit any Y with your membership is the best part is the plan.

We've been members at the Lake Norman branch of the YMCA and they are the best. The employees recognize us and say hi every time we visit, some even check in on how we are doing. Our daughter has attended camp there for 5 years and is involved in LKN Stars gymnastics team. Highly recommend checking them out for your fitness and community needs.

This YMCA has the smallest selection of weight lifting equipment I have ever seen. They have numerous classrooms, a pool, and rooms of cardio equipment without a soul in them. Everyone has to crowd into a small area around the elevator to use what little free weights there are and only one squat rack. Impossible to have a decent workout.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We were visiting the area for the weekend so this is not our home based YMCA. I took a yoga and deep stretching class and both were great! I love how the yoga room and cardio machines overlook the lake. Group exercise rooms are large and there is plenty of equipment. Showers and dressing rooms are available but bring your towel. They gave a daycare available and a pool.

This place is integral to the LKN Community. I HAD been a member for 12 years. Unfortunately, they have shifted to a boutique/ family gym. Members have paid to improve the Y,. However, members are penalized if they don’t sign up for “boutique,” classes of 1. “1” person will excuse you from an entire room. Ridiculous. Hunter, Julie, and Maria will chase you out if you dare interfere with “1,” client. Beware. We work hard. Does the community based Y support you? This place has become a joke, “family-oriented,” $$ generated. It supports itself and the heads in charge.
