Yes I’m writing a review on a gas station. But there are pros and cons to each one. Quiktrip is not found where I’m from and it’s super convenient and fast. The layout makes consistent sense and the products are good. Overall a top tier gas station.

Never thought I’d be writing a review for a gas station, but QT in Cornelius deserves it! Always super clean, staff is genuinely friendly, and the food is surprisingly solid—hot dogs, pizza, and free self-serve toppings? Yes, please. They’ve got everything from fresh coffee to new drink machines and even good donuts. It’s honestly one of the nicest gas stations I’ve ever been to. Great pit stop whether you’re fueling up your car or yourself.

Was denied service for no reason because cashier was on a power trip and egotistical.Asked for two specific Tobacco products. He walks over to grab them and stops and says “Well first do you have your ID” “I told him if you have my product then yes but that doesn’t happened until you’re back at the register.”He responds “well it’s the law” which was irrelevant and not the issue, so I tell him once again “I have my ID on me as always.” He says “well other customers won’t have it and then get upset we can’t sell” I respond. “Well treat me like me, not other customers you’ve had” This was a dog whistle of prejudice because what about me made him have that preconceived notion and handle my transaction from the very start with resistance. He then forgets what I ask for so I tell him again, he was still a bit confused so a male associate or manager next to him in a red shirt, helps him and repeats what I asked for.He comes back to the register and I jokingly tell him, WHILE holding out my ID to him “See you were so anxious about me not having my ID that you forgot my purchase and it took longer”He replies “Well now we have to wait for you to get your ID cuz you were busy talking to me” I figured maybe he didn’t see it literally in my hand so I wave the ID up in the air which the camera would have caught. I say “I had it this whole time. Ready. Still waiting on you since you were more concerned about me possibly not having my ID than the overall transaction”This is where the situation turns nasty because he then gets visibly upset and gets an attitude and starts repeating “well do you want them or not. Do you want them or not” At this point mockingly waving the products in the air Clearly trying to bait me into being upset.I tell him if I’m holding my ID and asked for the products you’re holding what do you think. He then says “Well I’m not selling it at all”I try to speak to the manager in the red shirt watching the whole thing but he’s immediately on the cashiers side and wants to escalate the situation as well and says something like “Well first chill out. I saw him just trying to help you” Ignoring how the cashier actually had to be told repeatedly my order, him going back and forth with me and then seemingly refusing service out of nowhere.I definitely blacked out and knocked my cup and lighter display down in anger but still not throwing any items at anyone. I was not proud of this but extremely irate at how I was being treated.Marlene a manager in black, who was absolutely more mature and attempted to show empathy, then comes up and I try to speak to her about why her cashier would escalate a situation to intentionally disrespect and anger a customer. However, she was more adamant on “well two wrongs don’t make a right” and my REACTION to a PROVOCATION. I told her I was sorry about the mess but didn’t understand why I was refused service and I didn’t deserve to be treated that way. Her response was “well we can refuse for any reason” I asked her “but wouldn’t that be for negative reasons not random ones when it’s a normal positive transaction.”She again reiterated “well we can do so for any reason at all” I told her that’s a slope to discrimination because you don’t know what bias your cashier may have and how they choose to treat people differently. This was an extremely traumatic experience and my entire point was de escalation is taught in customer service to not have situations get out of control or dangerous.I hope that cashier with the curled stylized mustache, who knows everything I wrote here is true even what makes me look bad, is honest about his biases he holds. That he can admit he got in his ego when I corrected him on his job and customer service ability and felt he wanted to “put me in my place.”This is unacceptable and an actual unhinged person could have caused violence or you may find yourself in a lawsuit when it comes to light this cashier is treating people who share certain protected characteristics, hostile based on prejudice and not actually following training.

I go here almost daily, and it's worth the walk from home. The employees are kind, helpful, and understanding, and they even greet me, knowing how often I come there for purchases as well as never really having a personal problem here?
