The store is well stocked and the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Customers say staff members load feed and guide shoppers to what they need. The manager is sympathetic and offered a large discount after Hurricane Helene to help cleanup and rebuilding in western North Carolina. Customers also praise the gardening lady and young checkout clerk for their great customer skills. The shop is a reliable place for chicken feed, weed eaters, outdoor heaters, and many other farm supplies.
This is a small private owned feed store. There prices and customer service are great.

Went to 3 different garden stores in Durham looking for garden supplies and still didn’t find everything I needed. Southern States was my last stop and I wish it was my first, because they had everything on my list and then some! Prices are great, good clearance. They have good pet supplies too.
