I made a reservation to rent a truck. Less than 2 days prior to the pick up date, I received a message stating that Uhaul had overbooked their reservations and could no longer honor my reservation. After 30 minutes of being on the phone with customer support (mostly put on hold and was transferred 6+ times), I was given an alternative option to pick up another truck that was 45 minutes away a few towns over. I ended up cancelling completely and used a family member’s pick up truck to move. I have never left a review for anything before, but felt that this deserved it for causing the most inconvenient and stressful moving experience.
How do you overbook reservations?? If a reservation isn’t available, just don’t give it out.
Really disappointed and will not be using Uhaul again.

The location didn’t seem totally familiar with the U-Haul systems -had to call someone and check the truck out to me over the phone.Also, u-haul told me the day before my reservation that the 10’ truck I wanted wasn’t available and sent me to a different location. When I called to talk to them about this, they ended up saying I could come to my desired location and they upgraded me to a 20’ truck for free, which was nice.

Great service. The man was very helpful and professional. I definitely recommend Deep Gap Storage if you need ro rent a truck or trailer. Also, they have great rates on their storage facilities.

Why does U-Haul schedule pickups that cannot happen, when they KNOW the truck won’t be available on that date or anywhere near that location??? Unacceptable to learn the day before the appointment that I actually have to drive two hours out of the way just to get the truck and get it to the place I’m moving from, before even doing any loading.

After making reservations 3 weeks in advance we arrived at our established pick up time only to find out that there was no reservation for us! We only had a few hours to move our son into another house and they had nothing available. We then got on the phone with a U-Haul representative and found another vehicle about 20 minutes away and reserved it. When we arrived at the second location the gentleman behind the counter was working on our order. About the time that he was going to hand us the keys another young man walked in to inquire about his reservation. The gentleman behind the counter then apologized and said that he had previously spoken with said young man and was obliged to give him the truck.We ended up having to hire a couple of guys with a pick up to move our sons things. There are other options out there people. Do not use U-Haul of Boone!!!

This place is wretched and the man who evidently works there is a jerk. We rented through the website and I even called the 800 number to confirm the rental because my husband was driving two hours to help his daughter move to another apartment. UHaul customer service confirmed everything the day before. My husband had a limited time frame because of work. They went to pick up the truck, the place was closed, no truck anywhere. My stepdaughter called a number we had for this place and the man was rude to her, told her he had no trucks, and to go somewhere else. My husband was late for work and I was embarrassed for having been the one who arranged it. Whatever you do, don't rent here. Calling UHaul customer service to try to get our money back. And, writing a bad review everywhere I can. I hope that man sees them all. UHaul should not allow him to use their name. Disgusted.
