We are SO appreciative of the care and compassion shown by the staff at Denver Animal Emergency. We had to take our sweet Sophie there about a year ago in fear she was leaving us. The care they provided then was wonderful and allowed us so much more time with Sophie. Sadly, Sophie’s health had declined drastically in the past couple months and we had to make the hardest decision to say goodbye to our precious Sophie a little over a week ago. The staff was so kind and compassionate as we said our final goodbyes. They provided a private comfort room for our family to love on Sophie as she crossed the rainbow bridge. They made us feel so cared for during that time…and also gifted our son a beautiful painted rock that he picked out, in memory of our sweet Sophie. We love her and miss her dearly, but so thankful she passed away so peacefully and is no longer suffering. This week, we received the sweetest card signed by all the staff and inside was Sophie’s paw prints and sweet little nose print. I’ve cried at how special and thoughtful they were for doing that! I would recommend them to anyone needing exceptional care for your fur babies. ❤️ Thank you to the Dr and all the staff…you are so appreciated!!The Morris Family

My dog started out at East Lincoln where they did an ultrasound due to me taking him in for continuous illness. They said he had a foreign object in his intestines and needed surgery. They weren’t able to do the surgery there and needed to send him to Denver Animal Emergency. Dr O’Hara was adamant and confident that Rudy didn’t have a foreign object in his stomach. He did an x-ray to confirm if there was or wasn’t a foreign object or obstruction. When a doctor is that confident your dog doesn’t need cut open you obviously don’t want your dog to need to be cut open. We were sent home and put on a prescription diet thinking this was food related. Two more weeks go by of my dog having two more episodes while being on the prescription dog food. Made three phone calls in those two weeks back to Dr O’Hara. Ended up taking Rudy back into him two weeks later because he was lethargic and shaking. Dr decided to do bloodwork and another x-ray along with a urine sample. Says UTI and sends us home with an antibiotic. Also, tells us multiple times if he truly had a foreign object he would be DEAD. Suggest going and having a full abdomen ultrasound (even though disagreed with first ultrasound) So exactly two weeks after my pup was said he needed surgery the first time it was confirmed at the THIRD VET that he DID have a foreign object in his intestines which required surgery. It did at one time rupture and his intestines tried to heal which required a more invasive surgery. This Dr also said this object was more than likely in there since December, not just two weeks, and around the time he had his first episode which was shared with each vet that this when it all started happening. I feel this was an unacceptable level of care and the fact I trusted this vet leaving this object in my dog even longer is so upsetting. More unacceptable that he continued to have the same symptoms for two weeks and the second time I brought him I’m told it’s just a UTI. This could have gone much smoother if the Dr spoke to the original radiologist who did the first ultrasound.

The receptionist and triage team are super kind and patient, which I've found challenging to find at other vet practices in past few years. They were able to get my dog in immediately and checked him out quickly as well.

Had to rush here in the middle of the night to get emergency surgery because our cat ate a string. I had no idea this place would be so amazing. The staff was so knowledgeable and caring. They worked fast to take care of our girl. They kept me updated throughout her entire stay and I’m so grateful for the amazing staff who took care of her. Hopefully we’ll never have to have another emergency visit, but if we do, we’ll definitely be coming back here. Can’t rate this place highly enough.

Not the place to take your animal if it's not an emergency they are going to over charge you for their service
