my family and i always shop at the duck shops when we visit the OBX- today while browsing the woman behind the cash register was helping many customers throughout the store, my son and his girlfriend (who are teachers) were looking at inexpensive rings on the counter, they looked at one and then placed it back on the display,
the woman who returned to the counter then asked to see the fingers of my sons girlfriend
like she had stolen the $28 dollar ring. Disgusting behavior, we will never return to this store, this is not typical behavior of a business in the obx, honestly i was shocked.

5-star service (and knowledge) from Susan!
I recently visited Dazzles and had the pleasure of being assisted by Susan, one of the most exceptional sales associates I've ever encountered. From the moment I walked in, Susan greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that made me feel right at home.
Her knowledge of the jewelry and gifts was impressive—she took the time to listen and understand what I was looking for (I wasn’t even sure myself until she asked just a few insightful questions!) then knew exactly what to recommend…without any pressure.
Her attention to detail and personalized, professional service made my shopping experience truly enjoyable and added a special touch to my visit.
If you're in Duck and looking for exceptional service and beautiful finds, I highly recommend stopping by Dazzles and asking for Susan. She's a gem!

For anyone reading the reviews from the McElroy clan, please understand none of this is true. We were not rude to any of the mothers because the teenagers came in alone. They were in the store for about a half an hour walked around, made a few small purchases. I asked them to please put it in a bag, (all in camera) the one girl refused to put it in a bag, gave me back the bag and the receipt so the statement that we did not give them a receipt is a lie. They never asked to see the cameras - our cameras are always available for anyone including Duck PD so again they never asked to see the cameras, but if they’d like to, they’re more than welcome to come in. The father came in after, Stood in the doorway, yelled and screamed like a crazy person. I wasn’t about to get into a conversation with someone like that and I said have a good night. customers that were in the store just stared at him in disbelief . Our store is not messy. We take pride in making sure our store is cleaned several times a day. I’m a small business owner who survives on four months of tourism. The Outer Banks has been hit with a lot of theft lately and we are all on high alert. I did question the one young teenager as she had something in her hand when I realized that it was a duck that was purchases and not in a bag I said OK you’re good. Go ahead, that was simple as it was. We have a whole wall of people who have stole from me. It’s not easy being a small business owner and having people that have nothing better to do on their vacation and post nasty reviews full of lies breaks my heart. I hope they enjoy their vacation.
Edit: To Dan thanks for your concern but my mental health is fine. I worry about those who spend a beautiful vacation here posting negative responses and trying to hurt small business. As for as the other posts they are from another group of teenagers that were arrested for stealing, I have the video and police report if it will make you feel better you are welcome to the proof. As an adult if you come in the store and asked what happened, an adult conversation could have happened. I could have explained to the girls or even shown them the video. But they were all laughing on the back of the golf cart as you drove away, after your embracing display in my business, so I figured they were fine.
And I would be happy to post the video so people can see for themselves.

Didn't even make it through the door before being treated rudely by staff at the register! Told to shut the door on my boyfriend behind me because it was windy. When I said i was holding the door for my boyfriend, was told I didn't need to wait for him! Turned around and left. There's nothing that amazing in there that I need to be treated that way!

Very nice little place full of a variety of gifts and decorations of all sorts. Prices are good enough, and altogether a friendly little store!

Upsetting customer service. My friend used to love this place and took time during our visit to OBX to share it with us but the employees were overly obsessive in watching our every move and talking bad about us when we were still in the store. They even approached my friend, accusing her of stealing an anklet she had previously bought last time she visited this spot and was wearing it when she walked in. The lady was rude in her response saying “then. you probably shouldn’t be wearing that in here” just because it looks like stealing. If that is the case, then you should have a sign outside explaining not to wear previously bought merchandise BEFORE entering the store. Even after trying to explain, the employees were still rude and accusatory. I understand as young girls certain assumptions can be made but this is not a proper way to handle the situation, especially with no proof behind your accusations. Please never rudely approach a customer accusing them of stealing without knowing close or for certain they are shoplifting. This left us all hurt and distraught from coming back.

i’m usually not one to review places - especially if it’s a bad experience but this is necessary and just more of a warning to others. i come to this jewelry spot every time i’m in duck and so -obviously- i have on some jewelry that i’ve gotten there before. i was walking around looking at jewelry when i noticed that both of the employees were just looking at me as i shopped. i just tried to ignore it because there were a lot of people in the store so i just figured that maybe they were just looking around (?). i realized that they were suspicious of shoplifting when one of the employees approached my best friend asking if she took one of the anklets because the camera saw her bend over in that area. my best friend (scared and confused) was unsure how to react so she just tried her best to tell the lady that she had gotten it the last time we were in the store. the lady then goes “well maybe you shouldn’t wear our jewelry in here” - which yes i understand that people steal but we had not stolen anything and were not being anything but nice. we asked the lady to check the cameras and she just told us that she “gets a notification” when someone bends over (i guess ?) at this point my best friend was really irritated and frustrated so she just put back the things that she had picked out and wanted to leave. i didn’t want to further confirm to them “that we were stealing” so i just bought the things that i was planning to buy before hand. when i was checking out at the counter i tried to explain the situation - in hopes to ease the tension - but both ladies just stood there saying that they have video evidence (which is impossible because she bought this anklet a while ago). now that i’ve left the store (and will not be returning :( ) i realize that i should have just pulled up a picture with my best friend and the anklet (as well as pictures of me and my bracelets and anklets because i wear a lot of things that i’ve gotten there) but i just think that there should be solid evidence of stealing before approaching a guest who was going to purchase many things. very disappointing because i love their jewelry. as young girls, we understand that there is a stereotype that we steal but we genuinely wanted nothing but positivity for this company.

The store is very expensive and the merchandise is cheaply made. Staff were rude and insulting, bordering on harassment. My family used to love to visit this store. We will never go back again!! Don't waste your time or money!!

Awful experience, people were rude. Obsessive behavior when people interact with products. Have customer service skills of a 2 year old. Immature, should be out of business within the next year.

This lady is awful and so rude. I bought a bracelet from her that turned my wrist colors I tried exchange it she snatched the bracelet out of my hand and told me to go get another one as I was walking out of the store she said I was shoplifting such poor customer service I will nvr go back here
