“It was freezing today, but I played well despite it. 82 from the tips. Onto the review.
Tee Boxes 4/5 - Nothing out of the ordinary, just some tee boxes that had more wear than others.
Fairways 4/5 - The grass is dormant during the off season, so I'm going based off how well it looks vs a round played here earlier this summer. Fairways weren't plush, but other than one or two holes, were filled out well.
Greens 5/5 - I really couldn't give the greens a lower score because there are no real downsides other than how they're designed to make everything in the first 3 feet fall off. The undulations make placement important, and they're firm and fast at about a 10-11.
Bunkers 5/5 - I ended up in a couple bunkers today but had no issue getting out since the sand was nice and fluffy.
Rough N/A - not sure how to grade this since if you were in the rough, you were likely in the tree line which is a death sentence.
Layout 4/5 - This course plays a little under 6200 yards from the tips and tries to force particular shot shapes off the tee to lengthen the holes. A number of doglegs or encroaching trees make you aim elsewhere or get good.
Amenities 3/5 - There is a driving range, but the hitting area is about 20 yards in width and is parallel to hole 10 and puts you in danger of approach shots from hole 9. It's about 180-200 yds long so short irons only. There is a chipping/putting green and no practice bunkers that I saw.
Overall I like the course. I nitpick with some things but it's a rather good deal.”
“Went here for the 21st year Hot Rod and Car show. These people are very accommodating. It was my first year going there with my freshly built 1923 Tbucket. This was the first car show for it because I just finished it only weeks ago. Won Best of Hotrod. Had fun. Wished the weather was better.”
