On Friday, The lovely Sarah suggested that I bring my build-it-yourselfsixthreezero 7-speed bike in because the seat WOULD NOT stay in place. On Sunday afternoon, I brought my bike in and was literally back outside and riding my bike around the store parking lot no more than 60 seconds later. Corbin, you are the best!! Thanks, y’all!!!

Highly recommended!!! My wife had an issue with her seat. We took it in at 4:00 on a Sunday, not the most optimal time, as they would be closing in less than an hour. However, Corbin saved the day! Incredible customer service! He fixed her issue in less than 10 minutes and didn't charge us for the fix. I will certainly be purchasing my next bike from this phenomenal store. Thank you, again, Corbin! Excellent "mid-western" customer service/ experience.

I wanted to say what a wonderful experience I had here. I came in because I needed air for a tire. This very sweet gentleman assisted me and refused to give up when he had difficulty getting the pump to connect to the valve. I will be coming back for service in the future. Thank you so much for your help and kindness.

I went in to look at basic bike racks, and I was treated as though I was buying the top-priced bicycle. Dave was the associate who met me with such enthusiasm and took plenty of time explaining products and making sure I was satisfied. This young man exemplifies superior customer service!

Just had a great experience at this shop. After talking with Mark, he described my issues on why I brought my bike in for repair, to Steve who promptly called me and explained what they found with a previous purchase and install of a chain that was too small resulting in my derailleur breaking off. All the work that was done to remedy my issue would be covered under warranty. I can't say enough about Steve. GREAT service. The entire shop seems to have changed for the best as it looks much different and the staff is MUCH more friendly than the folks I dealt with last year. THANKS Steve.

BUYER BEWARE. Their buy-back program is a scam. They apparently don't buy back Schwinn bicycles (not on the website!) and the Cannondale that we bought for our 10 year-old daughter is apparently considered an adult bike that's not eligible for the amount listed on the website. They offered $25 for a bike that we bought for $450. We should have used Bullseye Bicycle which has been great for us in the past. Lesson learned.

I've been in and out of this shop with some infrequency over the past few years, but have started coming in more regularly this season. The last few interactions that I've had with the staff there have been really positive.I came in today around 6PM to pick up my bike and the same crew that I have interacted with my last few visits was there. I can tell that this crew really cares about cycling. They offer helpful advice and are often juggling a few customers at a time, answering questions on the sales floor, picking up the phone, and helping customers with smaller on the spot repairs. Doing this all at once isn't easy and I think they deserve some recognition for it.I've never had an issue with a repair with them, but I'm sure if I did and brought the bike in with a level head, they would take care of it.The bike and product selection is good as well. With entry level shop bikes between the $550 - $800 price point up to the high end. They have a good spread of hybrid, road, gravel, mountain, comfort and pedal assist e-bikes available. If you're looking for something a little more serious than what you might be able to get at a big box store, I'd suggest taking a look. They are very fair about servicing the bikes they sell and I think they want people to have a good cycling experience. I think it's worth the price of admission honestly. Part of curating and servicing a catalog is picking products which are serviceable and worth servicing. I think they do a good job with this.

I am an out of towner who spends the winters in the area and I have had several occasions to use this shop for repair and maintenance of my Cannondale bike. I cannot praise enough the technical expertise, professionalism and the friendliness of the staff. And just as importantly, they stand behind their work. What more can one ask for.

Very knowledgeable mechanics. Always willing to answer questions. Recently I replaced my shifter cable but couldn’t figure out how to get it shifting smooth again. Brought it into the Durham BC and I was good to go in 20 minutes.

This store’s employees are great! I’m from Pennsylvania and was visiting the area for the purpose of cycling. Unfortunately I had issues with my bicycle seat and needed help fixing it. I went to Bicycle Chain and was offered immediate assistance and repair- not once but twice! The service was no charge! Everyone was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. If I lived in the area I’d definitely be a customer. It’s your loss if you go elsewhere. Thanks Bicycle Chain of Durham!

***Update***So after putting a few (4 miles) on the bike, derailleur wasn't adjusted correctly, bolt holding it to the bike also loose, shift cable also maxed tight so couldnt use the barrel adjuster at all and the bike wouldnt shift up gear by gear. Tried two different nx gearsets too before I took it to get adjusted thinking it was that. Rob (tech) had made a comment about the rear brake being squishy/feeling sloppy and will eventually need to be replaced. Awesome, no worries. Noticed it on the ride too. Got home and did a once over on the bike, caliper screws weren't tightened at all not was the bracket it bolts too. Works perfectly now with zero issue. Other bolts loose too but it is what it is i guess. You guys couldve seriously injured me or destroyed my bike. They are polite enough but attention to detail is very lacking. Will not be returning.Took my hardtail to these guys after they were recommended to me from another shop.Rob blead my brakes, adjusted my derailleur, new chain, installed a few parts I wanted on and did a once over on the bike for me and came in less than what was originally quoted and both were inexpensive in comparison to other shops. Could not be happier with the service and the communication. Great turn around time too. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend them.

We've been here probably 10 times, and the folks have, at best, not been friendly or helpful and, at worst, been rude. My husband stopped in today looking for a youth bike helmet, was directed to the one option they had, and was told it "may or may not fit" our child. We always start here in hopes of having a better experience and supporting a local business and almost always end up buying what we need elsewhere.

Tried to get two bikes repaired/altered, and the repair guy was fairly condescending and quoted me prices high enough to just buy a new bike. When discussing a trade in on yet another bike, the front desk guy was also super condescending. No other customers in the store and we are apparently in a tight used bike market, but a 2015 mid-range ($1000 new) bike wasn't the "type of bike our customers would buy".
