Stan came out last minute to help me diagnose a leaky refrigerator right before I had to go on a trip. He was responsive, flexible, and helped me not only diagnose the issue but understand the common failure modes so I had a better handle on diagnosing issues like this in the future. He had a good attention to time / value and was even though the ultimate issue was a faulty liner that would have been too expensive vs. getting a new refrigerator (mine was already 10 years+), he helped address my immediate concerns about stopping the leak and left me with good recommendations.

Stan was incredibly thorough. He had figured out the issue in short order but went ahead and cleaned out the entire machine. Not someone to over-charge you, Stan is honest, friendly and skilled.

I need to add my own experience with Stan to the reviews found here. I first contacted Stan in July 2020 to do a dishwasher repair. He was prompt in responding by text, even if his all-caps text style is a little weird--not a big deal. I paid Stan the $99 fee to visit my house, and he informed me that the dishwasher would be more costly to repair than the unit was worth. He agreed to help find a replacement unit and install it, and the cost of that came to $603 for what was ultimately a bottom-shelf HotPoint dishwasher, which included the installation. I was just glad to have a new and functioning dishwasher, so this was all fine with me. Here is the reason for my negative review: my very new, less than a year old dishwasher keeps on leaking, and I have now had to have multiple service visits in the last six months to fix it. The service people showed me how the leaks have been due to faulty installation--first because the unit was not level when installed, and second because it was installed too close to the cabinetry which prevents the door from shutting all the way resulting in--you guessed it--a leak! So I am now in the same position as I was in last year: with a leaky dishwasher, and nearly $1,000 poorer. Thanks a lot, Stan. Maybe he provides a fine and reliable service for repair work. Maybe. But I wouldn't take the risk. There are plenty of other excellent repair services in Durham who can do the job for you. Don't go with Stan, and end up in the same position I find myself in.

Schedule repair quickly and was very accommodating in meeting my schedule. Arrived right on time and fixed the problem I was having with my fairly new dryer quickly. Hopefully, there will be no need to contact them again but if so, I would definitely work with them again and recommend! Thank you!

I have been a customer for quite some time and the service provided never disappoints. Stan is a very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He has worked on my refrigerator and garbage disposal within the perfect time span, provided further instruction of what to expect and if the expectation is not there, his service guarantee of coming back and correcting the issue. I don't know how I would manage without a service expert such as Stan. Please keep up the great work and customer satisfaction!

I was having issues with my oven, microwave, and fridge, and Stan was quick to respond. He is prompt, polite, and knowledgeable, and his communication is excellent. He's really good at what he does, and he's open and honest about what needs to be done and how much it will cost. Carolina Appliance Repair is easily one of the best repair companies I have ever worked with.

Stan recently helped us with our leaking washing machine. He gave an accurate estimate, and he's honest about whether something is worth repairing or should be replaced. It's easy to tell he has a lot of knowledge and experience with a variety of appliances. I really appreciated how he stayed in contact with us, so there was never any uncertainty about scheduled times or costs.

I am giving Stan of Carolina Appliance Repair 5 stars for honesty and integrity. Our dishwasher door got stuck shut. When Stan came out to see it he was up front in suggesting the a GE tech would be the best person for the job. Not that he didn't think he could do it but due to how tightly the dishwasher fit our space he was concerned about damaging things in getting the door open. It turned out it was a good thing he suggested it - the GE guy had some choice words for our home builder's space allowance for the dishwasher!

Poor service. Charged us a lot of money to fix our refrigerator and problem was not fixed! He is now refusing to return calls/texts Take your business to someone else.
