Duke University Hospital is consistently rated as one of the best hospitals in the United States and is known for outstanding care and groundbreaking research. Patients report the nursing staff as incredible, amazing, and nothing short of amazing, with great bedside manner. The doctors and staff, particularly in cardiovascular and neurology, are trusted and great at their job, with patients feeling fortunate to have access to this care. The hospital is described as great with way better than average results. However, there are common complaints. The cost of everything is described as expensive and outrageous, including parking, which is not prorated. The food service is sometimes called great, but the food itself can become less delectable. Amenities like the television controller are horrible and the audio is horribly low. Despite these usual complaints, the overall care is exceptional. Patients express deep gratitude, stating the staff saved them and were there for them at their lowest, leading to outstanding recovery results. The comprehensive facilities support this world-class care.
As good as it gets for medical care. Top tier facility. I drove 185 miles to have my procedure done here and it was well worth the trip.

My dad recently spent a week on the 8th floor. All the nurses Anna C., Katherine, Emmiline and all the ones I cant remember the names of were all incredible. From care, bed side manner, friendliness and just all around performance the entire Nursing staff are nothing short of amazing!

Since 1998, my oldest son has had annual heart checkups, several catheterizations and an open heart surgery at Duke. We trust all of the staff and doctors, particularly those involved in cardiovascular. I feel very fortunate we live within 40 minutes of this hospital
