Went to this location for a head injury. This location had 1hr before closing. Jenna Jackson was the unprofessional person at the counter. She asked what was the reason for my visit and I told her, head injury work related. She says, oh Lord another work related patient it's time for us to go home. My employer tried to call but she wouldn't answer the phone. After sitting waiting to be seen she tells me they were close and I have to come back another day. They need to take their health professions more serious because this couldve turned out real ugly

From the Google reviews you can tell this place is a hit or miss (lots of 5 stars and lots of 1-star reviews, with not much in between). If you are lucky to get the right people on duty it will be a good day. My daughter visited the Durham clinic on Saturday with asthma symptoms. Dr. Jodi Mayer (NP) was medically competent in the diagnosis, prescribing a few medications along with Albuterol, a common medication that requires a nebulizer to be administered properly. My daughter drove to her CVS in Durham to pick it all up and was told that they do not carry nebulizers in stock (a $50 device), and this would be "special order", with 1-2 days of wait. She then tried the Publix in Durham, which does have a nebulizer compressor in stock, but can only sell it if the prescription includes the nebulizer along with the medication that requires it (nonsense). The simplest solution to this charade was to call the Fast Med Urgent Care again and ask them to kindly send an updated prescription to Publix. The lady who answered the phone was nothing but rude, quickly dismissing the request by saying "we can't do that because your insurance doesn't cover a nebulizer", and hanging up the phone. Why should FastMed care about how the patient will pay for their prescriptions? While my daughter continued driving around town trying to find the nebulizer, I called FastMed myself to try to argument with the doctor. The person who answers the phone in Durham transferred me to another clinic miles away, where they've never heard of a Dr. Mayer. I called a second time and asked to leave a message for Dr. Mayer to call me back about the patient she had seen just an hour earlier. She never called me back of course. To those employees of the clinic who can't stand working there, and therefore drive the 1-star reviews, my suggestion is to find a job elsewhere, as there are many available. Our request was common sense, and you've spent more time mistreating us than you would have with three clicks of your mouse to send the corrected prescription.

Having one physician may not be the best business model. Physician sends one of my kids prescriptions to our local pharmacy and another to Illinois. When I go back to correct it it’s another physician and they couldn’t correct, leaving my kid without his medicine for 3 days. Juman error does happen but I think these physicians are working to much especially if you have up to 5 patients at the same time.

For the love of G-d, do not go to this urgent care. I was having an acute asthma attack and they prescribed me medication to use in a nebulizer and stated that I should buy the nebulizer over the counter because insurance won’t approve it from an urgent care center. They did NOT give me any treatment in the clinic despite stating that I had bronchitis and was experiencing a “acute asthma attack.” The pharmacy said they can’t sell me the nebulizer without a prescription. I called back and Tracy was extremely rude and said “the provider already made it clear it’s against Fast Med policy to prescribe a nebulizer” which is not at all what the NP said. I asked to speak to the NP and she hung up on me. My father tried calling and when he asked to speak to the NP, they transferred his call TO ANOTHER CLINIC. I had to seek alternative care after wasting hours of my day in respiratory distress because I still couldn’t breathe and am out my $100 copay. They are crooks and should be avoided at all costs. PS once I was prescribed the nebulizer, my “acute asthma attack” resolved nearly immediately. Also how can someone possibly diagnose bronchitis in under 5 minutes with no tests?

Best experience I’ve ever had at an Urgent Care Center! The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and pleasant to be around. The medical assistant, Tiye, is also amazing! She is a truly caring and empathetic individual, and she is the shining jewel of this place. Thank you for my care FastMed; I would highly recommend everyone go to this location!

The doctor understood the pain I was in. He didn’t rush through my examination. The receptionist was friendly and helpful as was both nurses who checked me in.

Please don't go here if you value your health privacy and want to be treated with respect from the staff.I went to this location hoping to get some routine blood work to see about my HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels. I was about six weeks pregnant by my calculations (I had taken a home pregnancy test that was positive), but had some bleeding early on. It was too early to see my OB-GYN (I already called and asked), but I wanted to see if my levels were rising as they should be or if I should chalk it up as a miscarriage. I was anxious and just wanted to see a provider. A quick search of FastMed's website stated, "If you’d like a more accurate urine pregnancy test or blood test, the professionals at FastMed Urgent Care can provide it in a safe, comfortable environment." I made the last appointment for the day and went in.When I checked in for my appointment, a provider pulled me back without introducing herself. I was not taken to a room - I was taken into a hallway next to the front desk within earshot of the crowded waiting room. The provider loudly and rudely questioned me about my obstetric history and the reason for my visit. Taken aback by her attitude and annoyance, I reported the reason for my visit - that I was pregnant and wanted to see if my blood levels suggested a miscarriage. What happened next was the worst experience I've ever had as a patient in any healthcare system. The provider berated me for coming to urgent care for a pregnancy test (despite it being advertised on their website as a provided service) and told me to go get a home pregnancy pee test and just use that. When I said I wanted a blood test, she told me to go to the emergency room if I suspected an obstetric emergency. Routine blood testing for HCG is certainly not an emergency (nor is a miscarriage at six weeks) and is something any NP right out of school should be able to provide. She clearly did not feel like dealing with me. What bothered me most about this encounter is that I was questioned about my medical history and then scolded WITHIN EARSHOT of the waiting room, where everyone sitting there certainly heard me talking about my miscarriage and last menstrual period. When I left, I was completely mortified. Not only did I not appreciate being talked to like I was an idiot, but I had to walk past an entire room of people who were staring at me because they heard my entire medical history. The correct thing to do in this situation would have been to take me to a PRIVATE ROOM and kindly, with empathy, explain why this is not the appropriate place for me to go, and urge me to go to the ER. Instead, I was scolded and mistreated when I was already anxious and upset about a possible miscarriage. This provider was clearly ready to clock out for the day and could not be bothered to treat me with basic respect or consideration for my privacy.I attempted to contact FastMed privately about this issue using their contact on their website with no response, so I am now posting it publicly. Please don't go here if you have the option.

This location is either not open or the entire staff failed to show up during posted business hours. I scheduled an appointment online for 8:45 am and arrived at 8:00 am just in case I could be seen sooner. I waited 30 minutes and no one showed up. I ended up having to go somewhere else. This is terrible! They really need to update their website to say they are closed!

Absolutely terrible. Do not come here if you want prompt service. Came here for premployment drug screen and no one can tell me nor my employer the status on my screen. I have submitted my sample a week ago. Been told different things from 3 people… they say they can’t tell me anything cause I didn’t pay for it yet tell my employer they’ll look into it and never call back…. Also wait time is outrageous. So it doesn’t even matter if you set an appointment. I will never come here or another fast med for any service ever again. They are a JOKE and don’t know what they’re doing AT ALL! They don’t understand things are paused until they or whatever lab they use can spend 5 min putting a little test strip in my pee so I can move on. RIDICULOUS

I am going to file a complaint with the medical board and contact the franchise owner of this location. The nurse practitioner Carol MacLellan should not be practicing medicine at all. If anyone has had issues with this woman I suggest that you file a complaint. If you need assistance in filing the complaint please reach out to me. Our kids deserve adequate health care.
