The selection was fine, but the whole building smelled strongly of feces. The only area that didn't was the back section with the dishes. I worry there's a sewage problem. We held our breath, it was so bad

Husband and I went to Goodwill looking for a used dresser since they are listed on Yelp's used furniture page. This Goodwill location doesn't sell any furniture. They have lots and lots of clothes that are very well organized by color but not by size. I gave them a star because it might be worth it to come looking for clothes. But they shouldn't claim they sell used furniture and waste people's time coming to look at what they don't have.

My experience recently that I expect a deal at a thrift store. The prices are high , used cup cake container 1.99, new from dollar tree 1.25. Christmas cover for chair used 1.99, dollar tree new 1.25.jigsaw puzzles outrageous prices. I buy mine for a dollar some are new, from another thrift store . Very disappointing

The staff here is very friendly. Jasmine went over and beyond to help me out at the register. She was very polite and enthusiastic. I would have never thought to have checked the DVDs to ensure the correct movie was in place. Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy day to ensure that the customer would have a great experience.

I'm a professional thrift store shopper who redesigns clothes and accessories and sells them to friends. I spend LOTS of money there. I did anyway. Around the corner from my house was part of its convenience. When last in three, I was told that I had better not be taking anything without paying for it. They followed me around the store. Making me feel uncomfortable and unwanted. I had a good feeling about the girl at the register and told her how I felt.. she said the staff hated me and for NO REASON. I told her I didn't and wouldn't steal. With that, I appreciated her kindness and honesty. I slipped her a $50 in her wheel well , she deserves to be treated fairly as well as customers do, she wasn't... hope she's moved on and out of there.. also, the staff goes through everything and take for themselves the good things that they feel entitled to.Just a heads up

WOAH. I've always used goodwill as a place to donate my slightly used but still reusable stuff. I mean after all I'm donating them to goodwill to sell for a profit (even if it's shipped off as wholesale). I roll in there will my goods and I'm unpacking my stuff and this employee comes out and scoffs at one of the vases that has a small chip (but still has the piece with it) and exclaims to me asking how can she sell something broken. Ummm, it's not. It is perfectly good vase and still holds water / has the piece if someone wants to fix it. Is this what recycling is coming to? I'm totally against donating trash of course but that wasn't trash. Also like what's with her attitude. She could have just said they can't accept something damaged instead of ridiculing me. Will never take my donations to that goodwill again because apparently my things weren't good enough to make them profit. And honestly if I'm in the wrong fine, but her attitude was ridiculous and incredibly off-putting as I walked in there to do... goodwill.

I dropped off my trusty old Travelpro roller bag at this Goodwill on Garrett Road in southwest Durham. The bag itself was in excellent condition except for the wheels which were missing their "tires" and therefore, the bag was relatively loud and a little bumpy when rolled. Like other Goodwill stores, this one has a separate door for donations, separate from the main retail store front doors. Goodwill is a no-brainer for off-loading items that are still in good condition and usable.During my visit, the hours listed on the donation door were:Monday-Friday, 9:00am-8:30pmSaturday, 9:00am-6:00pmSunday, 12:00pm-6:00pmThe donation drop-off area at this Goodwill is a narrow hallway with bins. When I showed up around 4:30pm on a Sunday, this location was busy with both donation drop-offs and customers going to the store. A young couple ahead of me dropped off a bunch of textbooks. I didn't know Goodwill accepted textbooks. I learned something new. A lady rolled up behind me in a Tesla SUV with a trunkful of stuff to give away including a floor lamp. There was one employee working the donation area. It wasn't clear where exactly to place donation items. No signs/instructions or anything, at least not that I saw. It looked like everything was being placed in the bins. I asked the employee if I should place my bag in one of the bins and he took the bag from me. I thanked him. If my wife and I need to give away any usable items in the future, I'll definitely keep this Goodwill location in mind. This Goodwill location is part of the Goodwill Industries of Eastern NC ("GIENC") network. There are over 40 GIENC locations, from Hillsborough to Calabash. In addition to this Garrett Road location, Durham has two other GIENC stores at 5267 North Roxboro Road and 5200 Wake Forest Road.
