The Hayti Heritage Center is a historic building and a resource for the community in a historically important area of Durham. It is a cultural and educational institution with a vibrant future ahead. The center hosts amazing events, including one of the longest running poetry events in North Carolina on Third Saturdays, such as the Jambalaya Poetry Slam. Fantastic classes, music, films, and art are part of the lineup, including community African dance classes. It is always a good time to be had here, with friendly and helpful service. The building itself is a well-preserved National Historic Landmark.
