My experience with H&R Block was absolutely terrible, and Mauricia Blackwood was the main cause. She displayed an astonishing level of incompetence and dishonesty throughout the entire process.
Mauricia lied directly to me multiple times, which resulted in a frustrating and unnecessary 8-month ordeal. Her actions showed a complete lack of understanding and professionalism.
I strongly advise against using H&R Block and specifically dealing with Mauricia Blackwood. Save yourself the time, stress, and frustration by seeking a more reliable and honest tax service.

Hours and Appointments don’t mean anything. I had an appointment at 1pm it is 1:15pm and the place is empty!6 days later and still haven’t seen or spoken to anyone at an office! My next message is to the BBB. I can’t believe I trusted this company to prepare my taxes!

I typically file my own taxes but given my frequent traveling for work and having multiple state taxes to file I went with this service so I didn't mess anything up. Let's just say I would have been better off taking my chances. Not only did I pay 70 dollars for EACH state tax form filed, but my California tate taxes were never filed. I called multiple times the next 3 months and got the same response... that they are using a new system and she needed to figure out how to send them. (Arent you suppposed to be the "tax pro"... is there no one you can ask for help???) Well, tax season has closed and my California taxes were never filed which means I missed out on a chunk of money I not only earned, but need for grad school. I called customer service 2 times and had complaints opened and requested a refund of my 70 dollars. Told I would hear back but never did. This service is a complete waste of time and money.

This office should teach a master class is losing customers. I used to go to the HR Block office in Clayton for several years but after moving decided to switch location.After working with and advisor to fill out my wife and my taxes we filled out and signed the forms for e-filing of our federal returns (had to do state by mail). The website showed our federal taxes had been filed and we though we were good.Fast forward to late Oct and my wife is filing for student loans to return to college and they can not find her tax filing for 2021. I proceed to check the filing on the IRS website which shows no return for the 2021 year but the payment for 2021 (which I mailed in) does show.I contact HR Block and they are unable to help on the phone so they set up an appointment with another office for the next day. A couple hours later I get a call from that office saying that they've looked into my issue and it doesn't look like the filing went though, since they are a franchise they can't help me and that I need to go to the office that originally "filed" my return and have them reprocess (re push) the return. At this point I'm getting annoyed with the whole process but they haven't 100% lost me yet.I call HR Block again and they scheduled an appointment for my original office at 930 on Friday 3 days later.The next day I get an email saying my appointment has been moved to 930 on Saturday, no other contact just an automated email, annoying to have to wait one more day but I can live with it.Saturday comes and I drive to the office with all my paperwork. I get there and the lights are all off, the door is locked, and the sign on the door says closed all day Friday and Saturday, they are only open 2 days a week Tuesday and Thursday. They have scheduled me for appointments TWICE on days they are not even open. At this point I'm furious, this is delaying my wife applying for loans and will probably impact being able to get the loans in time for tuition being due.I call HR Block for probably the 8th time and they say that the office is supposed to be open and the agent is supposed to be there till 4 that day, I have to explain to the that I am litterally at the office door and it is locked with no one there with a sign saying they are close. The best they can do is schedule me an appointment for Tuesday something I could have done myself. So at this point from me finding out that HR Block FAILED to file my taxes or notify me they were not filed. The earliest I MIGHT actually talk to a rep about it is a week after I noticed it in the first place.At this point after all this run around all the good will they've built at the other office with me being a customer for years is gone. Once this is resolved I will never use this office again and it is very unlikely I will use any HR Block service again. How could I trust them at this point.

If I could give them a zero, I would. Services are terrible. They filed our taxes incorrectly, did not file an extension and now we owe double what was supposed to be a refund. They refused to call us back after leaving numerous voicemails once we received a letter from the IRS. Now they are saying, they cannot help us fix their mistake. Do NOT go here.

Doris is the most experienced tax preparer I have ever at H&R Block. She was very professional while working with me. She did not rush me through as many tax preparers do. She was ready to receive me.
