Quick service & friendly staff. I also had a coupon so I saved about $30 from what I usually pay. On my way home I noticed my hood wasn't closed properly, smh

Took an hr for two plugs when they finally got done with the vehicle went out to get in my vehicle. The 2 tires they put plugs in. We're still flat and one of the tires. They put a plug in was leaking worse. Then, when I brought it in, they said they couldn't fix the leak that they caused, and I had to go and have a brand new tire replaced elsewhere. Cost me over $200 and almost 3 hours of my time. Once again, that's after waiting for an hour and a 1/2 for 2 plugs. I was a mechanic for 10 years. Did the same exact job multiple multiple times it never took more than 20 minutes to do a plug

I have been going here regularly for upwards of 9 years and have always been very pleased. Unfortunately today after an oil change, I got back into my car and it smelled VERY strongly of marijuana. This personally makes me sick so I don't think I'll be able to return here for fear of this happening again. The job was done well as always but the lingering smell is a dealbreaker for me.

Staff seem nice but are trying to sell you things you don’t need. I spent about 3000$ here to fix various things and they left a noise from something they obviously did wrong to It. If I brought the car without the noise why should I have to hear something that you guys did wrong on my car every day. I tried going back they kept telling me it was nothing I went back 3 times no fix every-time. Also they always tell you a price but it’s usually more than what they quote in the beginning. I was told my brakes were basically non existing I took it to another local mechanic who said my car didn’t need new brakes or rotors. So they lie and I don’t think anyone should ever go here. I used to go to Honda for all my work but I had got a Lexus so I thought it would be more at Lexus, in the end I should have just gone to them.

I brought my 2016 BMW X3 for sticking brakes, so they replaced the brakes and rotors. However, the problem still remained. Now I'm having to bring the vehicle to another location for a second attempt for repair unfortunately. The staff was nice, and they gave it their best shot but because it was an import I feel it was beyond they're normal scope of work.

Had good Midas experiences when I lived in NJ, so when I needed service after moving to Durham I made an appointment to bring a vehicle in on my one day off for the following week. The person who scheduled my appointment over the phone said he would give me a ride back after I dropped the truck so that I didn't have to find a ride home. I asked if he was sure, because I live almost 15 minutes away by car, and he said yes of course he does this all the time. When I brought the vehicle in today, the person checking me in said that there was NO ride for me and I should try coming back another time. He said I had spoken with Ryan, who was not there today, and Ryan was the only person who gives rides. I asked why he would have offered that service if he wasn't going to be here, and I was told "Ryan does this all the time." So at this point it is too late for me to arrange for a friend to pick me up, so it is clear I am going to have to waste money and order an Uber home. But since this Midas cannot be trusted, I also have to spend time finding a different service station who can take the car today. Zero stars, Durham-Chapel Hill Road Midas. Don't offer services you cannot fulfill.

First, I'd like to make it known that the manager of Midas in Durham, Ryan Allen went above and beyond to earn my satisfaction in the transactions regarding the brakes on my truck. However, I don't have anything good to say about the mechanics who did the work on my truck. Initially, I had a scraping sound coming from my front brake pads. Even though I intended to drop my work truck off the following day, Ryan checked inventory, had the parts, and offered to do the work later in the afternoon in which I called. After pads and rotors were replaced, I picked up the truck. I made it ~2.5 miles up the road before my driver's side axle was smoking, like it was about to catch fire. I called the shop and Ryan arranged a tow truck to get my truck and haul it back to the shop. After being sent improper bearings by the supplier, Ryan covered the cost of a rental vehicle, so I could make my scheduled appointments the following day. The second bearings didn't fit either, so I was out my vehicle over the weekend. The driver's side caliper had froze, causing the bearings to overheat. I picked up the truck and noticed a rough ride and grinding sound when I applied the brakes again. I had work I had to get to that day, so I drove on. I called Ryan, who had me bring the truck back in. This time the passenger's side caliper had frozen and needed to be replaced. Another day gone without my work truck. After almost a full week in the shop, I was able to get back on the road. When I got to my first job, I discovered that several of the tools I count on for work every day were gone. It limited what I could do at work and I ended up having to borrow tools from two different contractors who luckily happened to be on site. I don't have a problem paying for honest work that was eventually done properly, but it thoroughly pisses me off to have a thief remove tools I depend on from a locked truck. I seldom post negative reviews, but they earned this one. The shop and I were the only ones with my truck keys... I had been a customer of that Midas shop for around 15 years. This was the first time that anything ever turned up missing from my vehicle. They have lost me as a customer, despite Ryan's efforts. He was the only reason I gave it 2 stars.

I ll only say one thing. If you value your life go to an other place. They almost killed me because they left a tool on the brake system which caused me to lose my brake completely. Also the shop doesnt take ownership of their mistakes. They dont want to fix it instead want me to pay for it. General Manager Ryan must be fired for not taking this job serious and putting people’s life in danger.

“Let Me Grab My Umbrella”
We are all simple folks. We’re not asking for the world…just a slice of normalcy. We just went through a life-changing Pandemic, work is harder, inflation is among us, and time is moving so fast! That’s why we want to find just ONE PLACE that we can take our vehicles to be serviced, and know that we can trust them.
We know that prices have increased, but is that supposed to mean that service is supposed to go down? Does it mean that you’re supposed to tell us that we need to make repairs that are unnecessary just so you can increase your bottom line at our expense?
NO! We want that one service facility where if they tell us it’s raining outside, we look for our umbrella without even looking out the window…because we TRUST them! I found my place. Midas in Durham, NC.
Ryan welcomed my wife into his store, gave us a fair price and did what he said he was going to do, at the price that he quoted. We have been back since for another repair and spent $1100. The parts were ten days away, and Ryan used all his connections to find us OEM parts in just two days, not ten. Yep, I checked behind him, and yep it was just as he said. Only available in 7 locations in the U. S.
The car had to stay. He even dropped me off at home, 30 miles away! I found my Happy Place. My wife had a smile on her face when we picked up “her Baby”. The car, not me. With all the complexities of life, we want simple. Just ONE service facility that we can trust. Thanks Ryan!

You’re better off trying to fix your car by yourself with help from YouTube than ever taking your car to these frauds. The Midas branch in Durham NC is under new management, and they are more useless than the name they’ve chosen for their company because they have no touch. If you value your life, do not take your car anywhere near them, no matter how much more cheaper it seems.
UPDATE #1
I will keep adding updates to this post, seeing as google will not let me post more than once on this page. Midas in Durham NC ruined my partner’s car, and are gaslighting my partner saying the current issues the car has stems from issues it’s had all along, but that is untrue. We have reports of the state of the car from another auto shop stating its condition days before taking it to Midas. If you are going to risk taking your car to them, be sure to have your car checked and have picture, video and written report evidence in case you decide to pursue further actions because you will be dealing with a bunch of liars.

My husband and I had an incredible experience recently. Ryan and his team went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The communication and follow through from Ryan every step of the way was impressive. Thank you so much for getting us taken care of. Im never excited to spend a chunk of money but would never bat an eye again when coming here. I know that the work is honest, it gets taken care of and worth every penny. Thank you Ryan & Team!!

Great service and knowledgeable staff. This store seems to have undergone new ownership and it’s so much more organized and well run. The General Manager is very personable and knowledgeable and helped me get what I needed and get in and out quickly. I will definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this store to anyone looking for great service.
