So I must say that this would be an awesome place to visit and learn new things but unfortunately I was made to leave because I have an emotional support dog for my anxiety that is NOT allowed on property. As to my shocking notification from the manager and staff it caused a severe anxiety episode. Not only made to leave, my ticket for $23.00 was wasted with no concern from this establishment. I must give this ??. I am very disappointed..

Management, if you're reading this, please address the behavior of the front desk receptionist (I believe her name is Pash or Tasha). She was extremely rude and unwelcoming. It seems I’m not alone in this experience—tonsl reviews mention her, and I even met two other park visitors who had similar encounters. I also reached out to customer support via email but received no response. This would have been a 5-star review, as the park and grounds are beautiful, fun, and offer plenty for kids. However, the management of customer relations needs serious improvement.

We booked the Museum of Life and Science for our wedding and 10/10 would recommend! When we started planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted something a little more non-traditional. After touring the Museum of Life and Science, we knew it was the perfect fit.
We held our ceremony outside of the butterfly house, allowing guests to tour the butterfly house (and take a train ride) during cocktail hour, and we had our reception in the Aerospace exhibit.
We kept calling our wedding “an Introvert’s dream wedding” because of all the activities. What we didn’t realize was that all the activities gave people things to talk about the whole night through. So many of our wedding guests have raved about our wedding being the most fun wedding they’ve been to, and a great deal of that was due to how much fun the Museum of Life and Science is!
On the admin side, the Museum’s event coordinator, Rachel, was very friendly, positive, responsive, and accommodating. She helped a great deal with coordinating the set up of everything for our wedding in collaboration with our wedding planner, Events by Emily.
Originally, we had been worried that having to start our wedding after the Museum closed at 5pm (ceremony at 6:30pm) would not be enough time, but all things considered, the limited amount of time did not outweigh how amazing and unique our wedding was because of the Museum. Without a doubt, if we were to plan our wedding again, we would absolutely book the Museum of Life and Science!

I have been a member since May of 2024, my kids and I love it here! There’s a lot to see and to do here every time, so please stop by. The butterfly garden and the Play to Learn are their favorite places.
The procedure to enter the museum is to have our membership card scanned and to show our IDs to one of the representatives at the lobby. No problem at all. But how can you guys allow RUDE receptionists at the lobby rolling their eyes and “welcoming” people with the question “What??” when we are there only to scan our membership cards? This is the second time I encounter this same person with this attitude, why is she even allowed to perform this function? This ruins the whole experience!

We held our micro-wedding here and it was such a perfect/happy day. Exactly what we wanted and hope for our wedding. The venue outside the butterfly house was magical. The team was so on top of everything and we loved the package and services that came with the wedding package. Thank you! We loved it ?

Museum of Life & Science in Durham is our go to place! There are so many activities for various age groups. I have two under three and spend 3-4 hours on the Museum grounds seamlessly - multiple times a week!
Food pricing is very fair
Train pricing is adequate
Cleanliness of the park is good
The staff are friendly (front desk sometimes iffy, could be a little grouchy at times waiting on kids to cooperate as you are trying to check in).
Pay them a visit! The membership is so worth it.

This place is way bigger than you can imagine and as interactive as it gets! Be sure to bring a change of clothes for your little one if you plan on visiting the earth moves exhibit and playing in the water! So many fun ways to learn and explore for kids and adults alike. Definitely too much to see in one day alone. We will be back soon!

It’s a nice museum but if you or your child has sensory issue don’t go. I went on a weekday and there were so many kids my daughter and I couldn’t enjoy ourselves. Just way too much going on and couldn’t learn anything if you wanted to. I’ve been to the science museum in Raleigh and it’s great for learning and if your child wants to play go to marbles kids museum. Some of the staff are rude too just depends. One I saw go to the bathroom and didn’t wash their hands. Not the worst but for how much to pay to get in and the experience will not go again.

The treehouses alone made this worth the trek! We were able to use our ASTC reciprocal museum membership and had a great morning. Love the space for little kids

This museum is truly an unforgettable experience! Every exhibit, from the farm animals to the expansive 40-acre sections, left both me and my child amazed. It’s a beautiful place, not just to pass time, but also to unwind and create lasting memories together. The tree park was a favorite and added even more fun! There's so much to explore—definitely plan to spend at least three hours if you want to see everything. Highly recommend it for families looking for a perfect blend of fun and learning!
