Reading the reviews on this location, and specifically this doctor, makes it clear that these issues have been going on for years, and with each negative review comes an insincere apology from “the owner” and nothing changes. The office seems completely uncared for. Carpet torn up, wallpaper coming off the walls, and just generally filthy.I have congestive heart failure, so just walking to the exam room leaves me completely breathless. Already struggling to breathe, and then being told that I must wear a face mask to enter the exam room was a bit shocking and traumatic for me. (It's 2024 and the “pandemic” is over.)I made a point during the “pandemic” to stay at home so I wouldn't have to wear a mask. (haven't had an eye exam in almost 4 years) It absolutely restricts my oxygen and I have a very hard time tolerating it. Had I not been struggling to breathe through a mask, I would have been more conscious of the extremely unsanitary conditions and practices.Struggling to breathe, nearly hyperventilating, and almost in tears, I opened the top of the mask a little to get more oxygen in. The “doctor” was on his stool with his back to me, looking at his computer screen. He didn't acknowledge me when I came in, sat down, etc. He turned his rolling stool around and looked at me and said “you need to be sure that mask is pulled up over your nose properly”. (he never said “hello”, introduced himself, etc. ) I pulled it up further over my nose.He rolled over to me, reached up, and with his bare hand, squeezed the metal top of the mask down onto my nose. Shocked and in absolute disbelief, I yelled out to him “Do Not Touch Me!”. He said “okay, I'm sorry, but we need to make sure it's tighter.”As I struggled to breathe throughout the exam, extremely upset, breathing very heavily, the lenses kept fogging. I have very little confidence that my prescription is even accurate. I kept telling him that I couldn't see anything on the screen. He just kept flipping it back and forth, “this one, or this one?”, ignoring me when I'm telling him that none are clear. He finally, pulled the lenses out away from me and wiped them (for the first time – more on that later), and it became clear to me that the foggy lenses had been the problem. Within 30 seconds, they were fogged back up and I could barely see the letters again at all. Let this be notice that if my prescription is screwed, this is why.I picked up a severe eye infection about 15 years ago from trying on eyeglasses at the optometrist office that hadn't been sanitized. Since then I'm hyperaware of the sanitation when I go for an eye exam. Typically, they wait until you get into the room, and let you see them wipe everything down with sanitizing wipes. If I don't see them wipe the machine down with my own eyes, I ask them to do it again.I was so traumatized by not having full access to oxygen, and basically being assaulted over the 'tightness' of the mask on my face... I let all of my requirements for sanitation slip right past me.My husband and I had our appts together. It wasn't until he came out after me and mentioned how nasty and unsanitary everything was, that I realized THAT huge issue. He pointed out that they hadn't wiped any of the machines or equipment down in either room. He was sitting right outside the first exam room, looking in as I did the pictures, etc. He said they didn't bother wiping anything down between me and him either.I came home and immediately did an eyewash, afraid I was going to wake up to another severe infection. The “doctor” is so concerned for HIS OWN health (he is “compromised”, so everyone that comes into his exam room must have their oxygen restricted to accommodate HIM) – yet, there is literally zero concern for the health of his patients. He uses his bare hands to open your eyelids, even though I have no idea when the last time he washed his hands. I don't even know if they have any sanitizing wipes in the room. I certainly never saw any. The

I had an appointment up here today and I had Keith Hoffman. I didn't really like him too much. I felt like he was trying to get smart with me. And I say that because during the appointment I had to either say better or worse and one time I said that's fine and he was like I need better not fine and I just said better whatever. And another thing when he dilated my eyes I started flinching a lot which is normal to do and he was like there's no need to struggle and I am like I wasn't struggling I can't help to not flinch it's like what the heck dude. He has a nasty attitude he's not very friendly.Next time I will go somewhere else and pay the full price. I don't what his problem is but someone surely needs to fix that fast.I am not sure why he is still working there and I have seen other people say bad things too. What makes me upset is that the owner still has him there after all of these bad reviews I have seen about this man. They don't care obviously it's clear that we are all telling the truth. So why is he still working there.? Is my question. A person should not still have their job and be rude to people. He should definitely be fired or else I will not be returning there. I will pay the full price next time I do not have to go back.

We had an absolutely pleasurable experience with Christy Cash and got sunglasses for the family. I highly recommend this office because of her. She went out of her way to make sure almost every customer that walks thru the door to speak to and try to assist. She is a true asset to your company!!!!

Dr. Hoffman is the worse doctor I have ever experienced. His demeanor is awful. He obviously doesn't like anyone to ask questions and gives short answers to your concerns. This isn't something I'm used to. I thought long in regards to submitting this review, however if you want a doctor that engages in conversation relative to your eye health then he isn't the one. Go to Brier Creek, the drive will be worth it. Now the office staff is hands down exceptionally great.
