Walked in for an oil change and I was done in about an hr. Front desk guy was very friendly, professional and helpful. He said he was new but he served everyone very well. Will definitely come back.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Pep Boys. It has been my 3rd time visiting their location to have my brakes repaired, and although they ultimately so called “fixed the issue”, my brakes still screech when I brake. The overall experience was completely unacceptable.
Also. There was a “popping” noise coming from under my car after I had them look at my vehicle. The biggest issue, however, was the complete lack of transparency and trustworthiness displayed by the staff. I was not confident that they had my best interests in mind, and I felt taken advantage of.
I will never return to Pep Boys again, and I would strongly advise others to avoid them as well. There are far better options available for car repairs, and I would recommend exploring those instead. One star is even too generous for this place.

Never been talked out of giving a repair shop $ but damn this place did it! Walked in with an appt to replace battery only to literally be convinced otherwise by the technician. Its ok. Battery failed again next day and I paid another shop to put a new battery in.

The check engine light was on and an auto part store nearby just had us take a picture of the info. Stopped by this Pep Boys and Chris had time and took a quick look under the hood and told us the needed part and recommended where to get it and said he could get it installed if we brought the part back. We did, he did. Thank you for your help, Chris!

I came in 5 minutes before closing in a panic because my tire was leaking air. Brian stayed late and fixed my tire. He took his time and even checked all the rest of the tires! This experience reminded me there are still good people in the world.

Set an appointment for 4 pm I got there and checked in and everything BEFORE 4. They tell me about 1 and a half hour. I leave and I come back and my car in a half hour. My car had not been touched, yet there are 2 new vehicles that were not there when I dropped off my car in the bays. What was the point of an appointment if they still just pick and choose which vehicles to service in which ever order they please. The lady at the desk tried to tell me that they ran into problems with the cat ahead of me which was clearly a lie.
I won’t be back.

I’ve been to the HWY 55 Pep Boys location twice with minor parts repair issues and both times they have been so helpful. Chris helped me with replacing 4 headlight bulbs in two older vehicles. I value his/their honest opinion on how to make the lights brighter. I will be going back for our next service visit with these vehicles.

Multiple bad experiences. First was for a simple oil change and was told to get there at 5 for my scheduled visit. I didn’t get serviced til 7. I let it go and figured it was a busy day. 2 weeks later I come back for 4 new tires and asked them to take a look at my oil again because my oil life had dropped to below 60% in less than 2.5 weeks (driven under 1.2k miles). They were nice about it, said it was fine and that they topped it off for me. The same week I had to refill 2 of the 4 tires as they were underfilled AND my oil was so low it barely showed up on the dipstick. I put 2 whole quarts in it after paying for a full synthetic oil change and still wasn’t in between the lines. Not much of a “top off” and never was filled from the jump. Don’t make the same mistakes as me CHECK YOUR SERVICES HERE or better yet go anywhere else. Go somewhere they won’t lie to your face after paying good money. Shady service going on.

The crew at this Pep Boys are absolutely amazing!!! Chris went above and beyond helping me pick out my tires he actually rolled tires out to my jeep so I could see how they would look! Brian worked hard lifting/installing my monster tires.Everyone was friendly and helpful.

I have been to 3 different businesses and have spent somuch money trying to find out what was wrong with my car. After changing many parts and the sound was still there I went to Pep Boys in Durham and they got me right. Finally a place that is not in it for the money and didn't try and take advantage of me. I was expecting to have a lot of work to be done which I was told by another place. Turns out all that work I didn't need. They tightened what wa loose and told me what they found. Not what I expected! They sent me on my way free of charge and I feel safe now. Thank you Pep Boys of Durham. You have gained a customer for life!

The appointment system doesn't work, I arrive on time and I'm not even attended to, they keep me waiting for a long time. Very poor service, I left without getting service for my car.
