Not always well stocked, but the best pet store close by that actually carries pets! (Small ones) guinea pigs, geckos, parakeets, fish, rats, etc.

If I could give this place a zero I would. I had the worse experience at this location. Danielle who is a groomer shaved my dog half way and called me and said that she had fleas. Which was a lie my dog did not have fleas when I brought her to her appointment. I understand the policy but why shave a dog half way when you were suppose to check before doing any grooming. She was rude and had a disgusting attitude she did this to another dog as well when I arrived.

I had scheduled a grooming date for my dog, Willow, with Pet Smart of Durham for Thursday, 9/21/23. I filled out the online application on Tuesday, 9/19/23 which had several questions regarding what type of dog she is and if she is up-to-date with her vaccinations (she is) and if she has heartworm (she is just finishing up her meds for the heartworm and is practically heartworm free, as per her last vet exam in August). Now I have to preface this with the fact that she has been to this Pet Smart twice before with no problems and our veterinary had informed us that her condition was not contagious The appointment was for 12 noon on the 21st.We arrived a little early and so my wife was in the car with Willow, while I brought the paperwork (vaccination info) in to check her in and to see if they could accept her a little earlier. The woman looked up our info on her computer and told me they couldn’t take Willow in because she has heartworm. I was shocked and told her that we have never had a problem before. She had no explanation, and was pretty cold about it. I asked her why I wasn’t notified sooner about this (since they had my application 2 days prior) and she couldn’t answer that either.

Been going here for years. Booked an appointment for grooming for my dog 5 days prior to my wedding, my dog was turned away because I requested that he not walk on the tile floor since he has hypertension on his front leg and it is painful for him to walk on hard surfaces. We were declined service based on this request.

Didn't have what I was looking for. Wanted a beta fish but the only had 1...and it looked like it was on it's last fin. Several tanks with a bunch of dead fish at the bottom of the tank. Felt like if I bought a fish it would just die and I just didn't feel like the back and forth...so No fish.

It is a PetSmart. Some of the stuff is marked up a bit, but you are paying their rent and their people. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They will get you what you need.

A Story like this happened multiple times. We booked an appointment for an express grooming session with the callcenter. Including confirmation a couple days earlier. When I arrived they canceled the appointment because they tried to call but couldn't reach us. And that we cannot confirm an appointment with the call center it has to be directly with the store.Guess who is on the line when you try to reach the store? It's ridiculous that they cannot get their internal organization right.

ZOE works for BANFIELD PET IN PET SMART. She was the BEST PART OF MY VISIT. I told her what MY VET SAID I NEEDED & she took her time to walk me to exactly what I needed. She has knowledge of where everything was. AND ZIPPEDY DO DA; in 15 minutes I was all set with what I needed. THANK YOU ZOE. YOU ARE A TREASURE FOR THOSE YOU WORK FOR.
