I truly adore the staff at this location from every person that greets me. They always treat me respectfully and are always welcoming. I highly recommend you shopping at this location. It’s one of my all-time favorite places to go sell my gently used clothesSo well trained this staff?? and I love the manager she is amazing, just like her customer service ?all of them are true beauties at their finest. You should visit the store specifically this location.

Stood at the counter and was ignored while they talked and gossiped I guess one girl is just coming back and she was talking about how much she missed everyone. They didn’t look at my items just told me they aren’t accepting this style of stuff even though I called and inquired. It definitely seemed like they didn’t feel like going through my items. Wont be back the atmosphere and the customer service was bad.Edit: went to Greensboro and they took all my items which were all brand new with tags. I just missed the return period. Don’t waste your time here. If the buyer doesn’t feel like working and wants to hang out they’ll just not go through your stuff you can tell because the quality of items they sell has cheapened. Take the time to go to Raleigh and Greensboro and don’t be like me call them out on their rude service.

I’m not usually one to write a bad review but after my experience today I felt that I needed to share…I dropped off four big bags of clothes when the store opened, all containing pretty reputable brands (Nike, Banana Republic, and Urban Outfitters to name a few) and waited about an hour and a half before I was told that my items had been processed.When I returned, I was told that they would not be buying any of my items because the styles were not what they were looking for and because they found pet hair on my clothes. I was very confused by the pet hair comment, because I don’t own any pets, and am in fact severely allergic to cats and dogs, as well as most other pets with fur. There is literally no way in which there would be pet hair on any of my clothes. The worker who informed me of this then handed me back one of my four bags and moved on to help another customer. I reminded her that I did not have just one bag, but four, and she seemed genuinely surprised by this which made me suspicious.Upon being given my bags back, I noticed that it appeared as though my bags had barely been touched. Items were folded and arranged in the exact ways that I placed them in the bags to drop them off. I asked one of the workers if they knew who processed my clothes because it seemed as though my bags hadn’t been looked through properly (if at all). The worker brought out the buying manager to come speak to me, and I explained to her my concerns about my items not being looked at and a claim about pet hair that didn’t make sense to me.The buying manager was very sweet, but she gave me a response that was totally different from the original reasons I had been given as to why they couldn’t purchase any of my items: She told me that when they started looking through the first bag, they found undergarments and have a store policy that they cannot take any items if there are undergarments in the container. This was true- one of my bags did contain some undergarments, but the other three did not. This reasoning made complete sense to me as sanitary concerns are definitely important, but I felt as though if this was the real reason that they could not buy my clothes (and subsequently why they didn’t look at any of my other items) I should’ve been told this upfront instead of being told a lie about pet hair. It also didn’t make sense to me that they couldn’t even bother to look through my three other bags which did not contain undergarments, considering that they were in completely separate containers.The buying manager apologized and offered to personally look through my items to rectify the situation, but I declined because at this point I had already lost trust in the capability of this store to actually assess each individual item. Furthermore, I informed her that I thought my time would be better spent taking my clothes to another store due to the apparent incompetency of the staff processing intake.The store in general has a lot of cute clothes and some great accessories that I was eyeing as I dropped off my clothes to be processed, but after my experience with trying to sell, I had no desire to give my business to this establishment.I think this is a great Plato’s location with some really good pieces for sale, but you will have much better luck trying to buy clothes here rather than sell.

I went in today to sell some clothes and ended up spending about an hour here shopping. Great brands for really good prices and got a good return for my items. The staff here were incredibly kind and sweet and professional. I witnessed them handling some very difficult interactions with customers and they handled it with maturity and humor. I can’t remember exactly their names but I wish I could to give them a shout out and tell their manager they deserve a raise :) Will be shopping here often!!

4 & 1/2 hours later...they didn't buy anything. They sent me home with a nice note, "Very nice brands but mature styles. Go to Clothes Mentor."I can't complain too much. They were swamped and their clientele is very young. I feel like they should have taken the Zara pants. Don't some 18 year olds have job interviews?!See my video to see some of what they rejected.

This is the best Plato’s in the area by far! The girls who work here are amazing and so sweet! You’ll also find some good items and they also take a decent amount of times to resell as well!! I don’t even live in the area anymore but anytime I take a trip to Raleigh I sell here. Thank you ladies!!

I had a wonderful experience at Plato’s Closet Southpoint today!!! The amount I received for my items was fair. The information I received about where I could get the exotic mushrooms was priceless for this new Vegan!!! The ladies were professional and very knowledgeable. I’m so happy to have met them!!!?????????????

I know they didn't look through everything. I had featured brand name items. Got a generic excuse about catering to younger styles. Right, cause a hot pink Torrid scuba dress in brand new condition or a black and white cropped Michael Kors sweater are so matronly. So are fitted mini skirts in fun colors and plaid. Totally out of style. . Silly system of leave and come back and they initially told me there would be a 30 minute wait. I got the come back text less than 10 minutes after I walked out. Im sure they really looked real hard. Anyway, to the thrift store they go.

I drove an hour and a half to this location because I had heard good things about selling your clothes to them. I get there and am told there is a 3 hr wait. So I left my 5 bags of clothing, boutique clothing and in mint condition for them to look at. After wasting my whole afternoon I get the text they were finished and to return to the store, to find out that they didn't buy any of my items. I was told that they were looking for teenage clothes and mine looked like young adult clothing. I looked at the clothes on the racks and mine were no different than some of the items in the store. I was very disappointed and would not recommend for anyone to take your things here. I will not be going back.

I’ve never really shopped at Plato’s closet before shopping at this location and I’m a committed fan now. This location has amazing men’s finds, always finding great shoes and fits whenever I come. Also the staff is so nice and ready to help me! Shout out to Kat for always making my shopping experience the best !

I tried to sell clothes here and I am not upset that they didn’t buy anything.. it was the fact that the girl at the front wouldn’t talk to me and it seemed like they were all to scared to say they didn’t want anything. Then when I get my things, everything I had folded and hung up were balled up and shoved into the bags… and they took the hangers. It was a very odd experience and it just made me very uncomfortable.

As a new customer, I will never return to this location. Extremely entitled, stuck up employees. I am completely new to selling clothes and was treated like I was stupid.

The level of disrespect by the employees at this location is unmatched.I have been a weekly customer here for the last 2 years and within the last 6-9 months the changeover in employees has made this place not worth the interaction. A few months ago i asked for a fitting room and was told to “go look to see if a door was open before you come back up here and ask that question again”, this was by the newer blonde assistant manager. Today i was sold a pair of sunglasses that the tag wasn’t attached to and when i got home i couldn’t find it anywhere so i called to see if we could work something out for a return and the employee looked for the tag, but told me a return wasn’t possible without it. I said i understand, but it wasn’t my fault if it wasn’t attached and i would hate for this to ruin the longstanding relationship i have with the store since they were purchased just hours beforehand. They asked if i wanted to speak with the manager so i said yes and they agreed to accept the return. When i got to the store i luckily found the tag on the ground in the parking lot, when i went in the manager at the counter started off by telling me “i upset their employee”…so i said “the phone conversation was a completely normal customer service interaction and i was very nice to them on the phone” and all she could say was “well that’s not what i heard from my employee”. All i could respond with is “this is so weird”. They try to start arguments in here, avoid it and take your money elsewhere until they change up the staff again.
